Chapter 1464
By evening, Charlie had the festival tickets ready for them.
Elise had dressed up especially as well, clad in a pale green dress with her hair pinned into an updo. In fact, she looked like a starlet herself.
"Do I look nice?" Elise spun in a circle in front of Wilbur, smiling at him bashfully.
Wilbur nodded. "You look wonderful."
"Really? Let's go, then." Elise seemed nothing but eager to check these celebrities out.
Wilbur smiled and drove the both of them to the festival venue.
This film festival was held in the national stadium of Morburn.
It was a huge deal, being an international event and everything.
Atrus' incident had been displaced with news of the film festival in hardly any time at all.
After all, those cultivators felt too far away from the regular mortals and most people just treated the incident as a story of hearsay.
The celebrities coming to the film festival, however, were as real as they could be. They could be seen on television almost every other day and were a far more exciting spectacle compared to some cultivators.
The stadium was practically overflowing with people by the time Wilbur and Elise got there.
The both of them clutched their tickets, squeezing into the stadium with all their might.
The inside of the stadium had been divided into many stations.
There was a photo station, a booth promoting the movies, a performance area, and many others.
Elise and Wilbur strolled around the stadium.
The large screens were showing clips of the movies to be promoted. Hundreds of film buffs watched on eagerly, waiting for their favorite movie stars to show up in hopes of getting a photo with them.
Eventually, Elise's feet stopped moving as she pouted at Wilbur. "Can we just wait here?"
Wilbur smiled. "Which celebrity is your favorite?"
Elise seemed to light up at once. "Jennifer Lawrence, Kristen Stewart, Elle Fanning, and Brad Pitt! I've lost count of how many times I've watched their movies!"
Wilbur nodded. The only name he had recognized out of all of them was Brad Pitt.
Just then, a Western-looking celebrity walked over and drew a sea of screams and cheers.
Many people rushed over to take a photo but were blocked by the security guards and made to line up for a phone.
After over half an hour, the celebrity had finally finished meeting his quota for fans and waved goodbye to everyone.
Following that, more celebrities came over as the crowd screamed for their photos.
It was clear that letting these fans meet their idols was one of the activities of the festival, and many had come just for this, including Elise.
Following that, another female celebrity appeared, and Elise clapped a hand over her mouth. "Jennifer! I want a photo, I need it!"
"Go ahead," Wilbur smiled.noveldrama
Elise gathered her dress into her hands and sprinted over, drawing a shrug and a smile from Wilbur.
Eventually, Elise managed to make it to the ground. Yet the security guard blocked her off rudely, even giving her a shove. The people behind Elise caused her to fall to the ground as well.
Wilbur rushed over at once, parting the crowd to help Elise to her feet before glowering at the guard who had just pushed her. "What the f*ck are you doing?"
"What does it look like I'm doing? I'm keeping order over here! Back off, or you're never getting that photo," the guard said, sticking out his chin.
Wilbur nearly laughed in annoyance. This guard acted like he had hosted the festival himself.
"Apologize to the lady, now," Wilbur said.
"To this filthy Dashan? You're a second-class human, for crying out loud! Stop trying to make a scene, or I'll have the two of you kicked out, got it?" The guard hardly even saw Wilbur as a threat.
Wilbur was shocked. No wonder this guard had only treated Elise roughly. He was being racist.
What do you think?
