Living With My Lady Boss

Chapter 1429

Hans let out a deep sigh and bowed before Wilbur, his movements filled with deference. Despite struggling to walk, Wynna managed to brace herself and also bowed nervously before Wilbur. Theo, standing in the distance, similarly inclined deeply.

All four individuals bowed, not daring to straighten their backs or even glance up at Wilbur.

With a disdainful snort, Wilbur pulled out a chair and seated himself, lighting a cigarette before speaking lightly, "You should know why I haven't killed you."

"I understand, sir. Lou is with me; I'll bring him here immediately," Hans said, his voice filled with immense trepidation.

At this moment, he dared not utter a falsehood. They all understood that if Wilbur truly became enraged, it would take only a swing of his sword to destroy the entire castle and estate, leaving no one alive. The terror of an Emperor's power was beyond their imagination.

Wilbur snorted coldly, questioning, "Did you have a hand in what happened to Connor and the others?"

Cold sweat dripped from Hans and Wynna's foreheads, falling onto the ground with a steady tap.

"Yes, sir. We're sorry. I'll release them right away," Wynna said, trembling.

Wilbur's tone remained icy. "Then do it quickly."

"Yes."

They hastily agreed, with Hans rushing off to the dungeon while Wynna began making a phone call.

Before long, Lou, covered in mud, was brought over. He was barely able to stand without the support of two people.

With a wave of his hand, Wilbur instructed. Hans quickly had the attendants release Lou, who promptly collapsed onto the floor.

Wilbur watched with amusement, though Lou's face was too dirty to discern much. "Earl Hans, please clean Mister Lou's face," Wilbur said with a hint of amusement.

Hans promptly had water brought over, personally washing Lou's face until it was spotless.

Lou gazed around with a bewildered expression in his eyes.

Wilbur smiled and said, "Mister Lou, hello."

Lou turned his stiff neck, it took him a while to focus his scattered gaze and see Wilbur. He looked bewildered and murmured, "Did you rescue me?"

"One could say that," Wilbur replied with a smile.

Lou burst into tears, regardless of whether he knew Wilbur or not, he cried out, "Please, take me back to my country, I beg you."

"Taking you back to your country is not impossible. However, you've taken my twenty billion. What do you say to that?" Wilbur stared at Lou.

Lou was taken aback. "I don't know you."

"But you should know Faye," Wilbur's expression gradually darkened, and he said coldly, "If you're still up for tricks, you're gravely mistaken."

Lou's expression changed, tilting his head, he said, "I'll return it to you, just let me leave here."

Wilbur did not respond, he just smoked his cigarette.

At that moment, Wynna, trembling, said, "Sir, Connor and Jaden have been released, they're out."

Wilbur ignored him. He only did it for Elise's sake, and now that they were out, it was no longer his concern.

"Lou, hand over the money now, and I might consider sparing your life," Wilbur said coldly.

Lou's eyes darted around, and Wilbur swiftly sent a burst of energy close to Lou's ear, causing a loud explosion.

A deep pit appeared on the bluestone floor, and his cheek was cut by flying debris, blood streaming down.

"I'll talk," Lou knew that if he did not confess now, he would really die. So he immediately disclosed the account number and password, unable to bear this torment any longer.

Wilbur sent the account information to Faye for verification. But then, a burly figure, carrying the salty sea breeze, walked in, an invisible aura of power spreading through the hall.noveldrama
