Chapter 110 Don’t Be Mad at Me
“Are you absolutely sure?” Maggie pressed.
“Absolutely sure,” Alex affirmed earnestly.
Mr. Harris was genuinely ignoring her this time. Despite Maggie’s numerous calls, he hadn’t answered
once.
This was unheard of, especially considering their long history together.
Well, perhaps not entirely unheard of.
O
But it felt like ages since it happened, reminiscent of the days when Mr. Harris would purposefully ignore her.
“Okay, hold on a sec, Maggie replied calmly, flipping through a magazine with a faint rustle of pages.
Alex listened intently for a moment, not quite understanding what was happening.
“Ms. Adam?”
“It’s nothing. I’m just making a note for myself to remember how and when Mr. Solace offended me, case I forget later, Maggie said unhurriedly.
Alex was speechless.
“My god! Mr. Harris is truly not here; please spare me.”
Today, Alex truly grasped the meaning that one should not mess up with a villian, oh no, woman.
Or rather, especially a lady who’s his boss’s favourite.

“Alex, darling. Did you know I’ve admired you for a long time? Actually, when I got together with Nathael, initially, it was because I was attracted to you. You have no idea, but the moment I see you, all that I can see is you.
Maggie pitched her voice in a mockingly sweet tone, saying things that frightened Alex to the core.
Ms. Adam! Mr. Harris isn’t on the twenty–seventh floor of the company headquarters!” Alex surrendered.
Maggie smirked triumphantly, grabbed her thermal lunch box, and departed.
Upon arrival, the receptionist refused to let her go up.
The pretty front desk receptionist with meticulous makeup gave her a once–over and said sarcastically, “There are a lot of people wanting to see Mr. Harris, you can’t go up without making an appointment.”
Maggie laughed off the receptionist’s snooty attitude; she smiled, and her gaze turned cold.
She patted her flat belly and said slowly, “Tell Alex if he doesn’t let me up, and if he makes me lose the child in my belly from stress, he’ll bear the consequences.”

This time, it was the receptionist’s turn to look surprised. She briefly examined Maggie’s belly and asked. “Whose baby? Mr. Solace’s?
Alex, who was rushing to the lobby, overheard this. He was at a loss for words.
Maggie was clearly here to mess with him..
With a sly grin, Maggie said, “It’s Nathael’s.”
The receptionist’s jaw dropped in disbelief. Alex hastily pulled Maggie aside, pleading. “Please, don’t tell my boss that I’m the one that let you in!”
“Got it. I snuck in through the window,” Maggie quipped with a self–righteous air.
Alex was on the brink of tears.
A few minutes later, standing outside Nathael’s office, Maggie suddenly felt a surge of nervousness.
Until now, she had marched forward with unwavering determination, but suddenly, Her momentum. waned.
Thinking about it, she realised she hadn’t really come to Nathael’s office much–oh no, just a couple of times–to ask him to do things for the Camerons.
However, coming specifically to see him seemed like the first time.
Knock, knock, knock…
Nathael’s voice resonated through the room as the knock sounded, “Come in.”
Maggie pushed the door open and found Nathael engrossed in his work, clad in a custom–made white shirt and black trousers.
When Nathael heard her enter, he glanced up briefly. He couldn’t truly turn her away
after
er all.
With an appeasing smile, Maggic took a seat across from him and slid a vibrant red flower across his desk and on top of the document he was working on.
The glaring red color was bursting with impact and beauty; the petals unfurled in full bloom.
“I brought this for you; please don’t be mad, okay?” Maggie ventured cautiously. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
Nathael’s gaze shifted away from the rose, casually moving it to the side.
He continued to work on the document as if Maggie’s presence were nonexistent; his attitude was one of indifference and restraint.
Undeterred, Maggie pouted and persisted, “I made dinner. Won’t you join me?”
Nathael was still focused on his/documents. He replied with indifference, “I’ve already eaten, Ms. Adam. You’re free to do as you wish.”
His cold demeanour made Maggie’s irked, She clenched her teeth and thought to herself.
Tid he do all this because I didn’t leave with him that day?

What got into him?
Maggie stood up and circled to his side. She dove under his arm, putting her face between his view and the paperwork.
Ignoring the awkward position, she batted her clear, enticing eyes and couldn’t help but ask, “Is the document more interesting than me?”
Her scent wafted over him. Nathael’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he took in the lively, cunning face before him. All of his restraint seemed to vanish for a moment.
His gaze was deep, and he said slowly, “I can make money with the documents; what can you offer?”
Maggie shrugged off his arm, perched on his lap, and wrapped her arms around his neck. She said confidently. “I can bring you joy!”
Nathael laughed. She was more likely to shorten his life than bring him any joy.
Watching her confident demeanour, Nathael sneered, “Overconfidence isn’t always good.
“Get down!”
He demanded it coldly, forcing himself not to look at her.
He had never wanted her to choose between himself, Ericko, or Joseph; it was always clear that he wouldn’t be the chosen one.
But when the moment of abandonment came, he realised how much deeper the pain could reach.
Maggie touched his throat gently, her voice laced with seduction and a hint of hurt. “Won’t you eat? I spent a long time preparing it.”
In a flash, Nathael tensed up. He gripped her wrist tightly, his eyes rimmed red with the effort of restraint. He warned, “Maggie, don’t push your luck!”
Maggie wasn’t upset. Her fingers reached his shirt collar and fiddled with it. She challenged, “I’ve always pushed my luck, didn’t you know?
“Can’t you stop being mad at me? I promise to leave with you next time, alright?” She coaxed softly, noticing the redness at the corners of his eyes and the veins bulging from his forced control.
She wore a light blue round–neck sweater with a pair of stone–washed blue jeans, her arms softly wrapped. around his neck.
Her long, curly hair casually cascaded down, outlining a face still sharp and radiant even without makeup.
“Did you mean what you said?” Nathael held her hand, his voice soft and his eyes reddening.
Just the night before, she had expressed affection and sought more trust.
Yet the next moment, she abandoned him without a second thought.
Maggie stared at him. His eyes betrayed the turmoil within, like a calm surface concealing turbulent waters, ready to erupt at any moment.
