Chapter 41

Lottie’s POV

I twirled a couple of times again in front of the mirror, entertained by the glittering tassels that hung down from my pink sequin crop top.

When Anna had held up a pair of leather a*s–less chaps, I almost died. However, paired with the matching pink sequin short shorts

underneath the outfit turned out pretty funky and was way more covering than the other choices in the store!

If I could go back in time, and be shown a picture of myself wearing this to go to my first festival, I would have never believed it were me!

“Girlllll you are on FIRE!” Anna claps and praises my finished look as she enters the room, as I admire her own outfit in return.

Anna had gone for a silver rhinestone bikini style top paired with a matching black short skirt – with rhinestone detailing.

“You look incredible too!” I jump excitedly, as we both hype one another up and squeal like excited children.

“Erik will be here in two and we can have a quick drink before we leave!” Anna recites the plan, as I nod and salute her jokingly – following her downstairs.

With that, it is only moments later that the doorbell rings – as Anna rushes to reveal a very smiley and excited Erik.

“BOTH OF YOU STOP IT RIGHT NOW! STUNNING! He gasps and exaggerates loudly, as we both pose and show off our outfits as he comes inside.

“Says you!” Anna states, giving him the credit he deserves…

Erik was shirtless, tanned and covered in glitter spray – sporting a pair of black short shorts on the bottom half. He wore a black fanny pack across his chest followed with a pair of expensive looking black sunglasses for accessories.

“Our pictures are going to be HOT AS F**K!” Erik announces as we both cheer at his words – watching as he pulls out a bottle of rose wine from a bag.

“Let’s get started!” Anna grins leading us to her kitchen for cups – as I turn up the volume on her Alexa on the way in which played a dance track perfect for the vibe!

“Here’s to new friendships with you two girls!” Erik announces once we all have a drink in hand, as I smile at his sincerity and hold up my cup.

“So what’s our plan? Take pictures when we get there and post them before we get too wasted?” Anna asks, and I shrug and nod – happy to go along with whatever they decide.

“Great let me book a taxi!” Erik states, as he pulls out his phone and begins to click away…

I take this as my moment to check my own phone – in an attempt to work on my texting with Alex. I don’t want to worry him, so my aim was to update him at least every hour if not more!

“Hope you’re behaving yourself doll? I’ll meet you at the festival at around 4 ok?x” – I read his text, smiling slightly at the thought of him being my real life boyfriend…

At first I thought he was kidding, or that he would maybe regret it the next day, but no! He’s been consistent so far and seems to want to

be around me often and text me often… it’s nice.

“I’m good! Just had my first drink with Anna and Erik! Booking a taxi to head there now the top of my phone to see that it’s just after two.

“Taxi is around the corner girls!” Erik holds up his cup, before placing it to his lips to drink the remains quickly.

I glance to Anna who follows his lead, before I look at my own half full cup… here goes nothing! Ldrink back the remains of my alcohol, before placing the cup down on the counter.

“Ok have you got everything Lottie? I think it’s all in my bag! Lipstick, perfume, deodorant, cash…” Anna recites her list, before clicking her own fanny pack around her waist.

I nod in approval, heading for the front door to get in the taxi, as I mentally do my own check–list…

All I need is my phone.

Great! I’m good to go! I think, as I watch Anna lock up and place the key in the bag too – before we follow Erik towards the red taxi parked up.

The festival isn’t a far drive for us since we live locally, but since the boys wouldn’t be there til late, a taxi was the best option if we wanted to drink alcohol and make the most of it!

During the ride we smile, take selfies together, and laugh at Erik’s banter. Anna and Erik both had ID to get served alcohol in there, and it was decided that they would just buy double each time and give one to me.

It wasn’t long before we pulled up to the large stretch of grass – hearing the music thumping and people singing, laughing and joking around.

Thankfully, everyone else was dressed in the same style of stuff that we were, which helped make me feel less stand–outish! Alex certainly won’t mind if everyone else looks the exact same – if not more naked than I am!

“Wristbands on!” The security guard states, handing us the white bands as Anna scans our ticket barcodes with her phone to sign us in.

This all felt so surreal…

“We are in!” Erik claps, as we all jump excitedly – getting through the gates.

The place was busy, with some carnival rides and food and drink stands dotted around everywhere. We could also see the main stage in the distance – hearing the upbeat music calling out to us on entry.

“This is so cool!” I comment, as I smile and drink in the whole experience.

“I know right? Let’s go take some pictures before we buy drinks!” Anna announces, as I follow her lead away from the busy security area.

We walk through the event, noticing everyone seemed happy and was having a good time! We soon reach a large yellow, geeen and purple sign reading – ‘Spring Fest‘ surrounded by colourful flowers and balloons.

“This is perfect!” Erik states, as he pushes Anna to go first for the photo shoot causing her to laugh and hand him her phone.

I watch as she poses effortlessly, the background adding to the aesthetic of the picture! Her auburn hair sat in wavy curls – each side of her face having a small pleat detail.

I smile as I watch Erik snap a number of pictures – stating that it was a MUST in order to get thee perfect shot, before I pull up my phone to again check my texts with Alex.

‘Oh a drink before you leave? Don’t get too crazy without me doll face ll call you to meet up when I get there!x‘ – I read Alex‘ message and laugh slightly before typing a quick – ‘perfect!x‘ back to him..

“Ok Lottie now it’s you!” Anna claps and grabs my hands – pulling me towards where she had once stood,

It is then that I realise I have no idea what I’m doing…

The only time I’ve ever taken photos was with Anna in our cheer uniforms at Dels party – to add that I was completely drunk by that point

of the night!

“You’ve got this! Erik will take them on your phone and all you have to do is copy me ok? Imagine that you’re learning a new cheer routine!” Anna encourages, handing my phone to Erik who nods.

“Go on babe you’ve got this! You look amazing already without even posing!” Erik encourages, as I inhale a steady breath and nod.

I can do this…

I copy Anna as she stands behind Erik moving around. She makes it look casual and effortless, as I attempt to do the same. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.

I copy her as she looks away and pretends to fix her hair… She then places a hand on her hip and another on her collar bone, before making a pouty face – which I also try to recreate as best I can.

“These are so f**king cute!” Erik encourages, as I giggle at him.

“Ok now do some back shots – looking over your shoulder!” Anna instructs, as I turn and do as she says.

“That a*s is poppin‘ in these pictures!” Erik states, as I cover my face in embarrassment and laugh.

“You got some really great ones Lottie even the ones of you laughing are cute!” Erik concludes, as I smile and thank him – taking back my phone.

“Have a look at them and heart what pictures you like best Lottie and after I take some of Erik we can help you make an account and post your first picture! Alex will die when he sees how great you look!” Anna squeezes me in a tight hug, before I laugh and nod – plopping down onto the grass to look at the pictures.

Erik stands shirtless, tensing his abs and looking quite simply – incredible.

I flick through my photos, amazed at how different I look in them… I could fool anyone into thinking I was the typical rich popular girl from school… and if only they knew the person that I used to be!

I smile at how happy I look, having actually enjoyed the photo shoot experience with my friends – excited for Alex to see the surprise!

I hope he likes them…
