Chapter 57 Don't Ever Come Back If You Dare Go Out
Chapter 57 Don't Ever Come Back If You Dare Go Out
As time went by, Cherry stayed in the big house all alone, since Jackson had gone back to the
barracks. She missed Jackson very much, and she missed the days when he was with her.
At the Ye family Early in the morning, Jean sat on the sofa in a sulky silence. It seemed as if the whole
world had owed her money, but that no one was willing to pay her back.
Edwin had already gone out, and there were only Jean and Lucia at home. Lucia was upstairs, and
when she came down, she saw that Jean was sitting in the living room. She didn't clearly see her
expression, and instead she greeted her cheerfully, and said, "Jean, why did you get up so early this
morning?"
For a while, Lucia didn't hear Jean's answer, and wondered what was wrong with her. She sat opposite Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
to her after she walked to the the living room, and when she looked at her, she realized that Jean was
unhappy.
"What's wrong? Why are you so morose?" asked Lucia. She had no idea what was going on.
"Are you kidding me? Don't you know that your son didn't come home last night?" cried Jean. Lucia
noticed that Jean's attitude had all of a sudden changed dramatically.
She was shocked, because Jean had never talked to her like this before. Jean's attitude towards her
had changed little by little since she had found out that John had an affair, and now it seemed that she
even dared to yell at her.
Lucia was very angry with Jean. How dare she have the nerve to yell at her? She was a member of the
Chu Clan!
Lucia suddenly became harsh, and said, "Jean, watch your words! How dare you yell at me?"
"Ha, " suddenly chuckled Jean, "And why can't I yell at you? Do you really think that I see you as my
mother? I'm like this because of your son! How do you expect me to show you respect?"
"You, you…" Lucia was too angry to even say a complete sentence. She had never expected that Jean
would ever fall out with her.
Jean leisurely sat on the sofa, and while she looked directly into her mother-in-law's eyes, she said,
"Lucia Chu, don't you look at me like that! Do you really think that I don't know what your thinking about
right now? You wanted me to marry into the Ye family just because of the Shen Group's assets, didn't
you? Cherry was detested by the Shen clan, and that was the very reason why you didn't want her to
be with John. I've known all your thoughts from the very beginning."
Up until that moment, Lucia had realized how scheming her daughter-in-law actually was. Jean had
always been acting in her presence, and it seemed that she was a cunning opponent.
Lucia furiously said, "Then why did you marry into our family if you already knew my thoughts?"
"You wanted your son to win the Shen Group, and I wanted to be the first lady in the state, " said Jean.
When she thought of Cherry, a touch of hatred sparked in her eyes. She continued, "I didn't want
Cherry to be happy. Why does she always fall in love with rich men? Why are they so good to her all
the time?"
At that moment, Lucia realized that she wasn't the only one with a goal set in her mind.
She now knew Jean's true colors, but this didn't upset her a bit. In any case, she was a member of the
Chu family, and she wasn't for a moment afraid of her.
"I don't care why you married into our family, but now that you've married John, you should take care of
him. Live your own life and don't bother me, " said Lucia, while she got up and left.
As she looked at Lucia's back, Jean furiously gnashed her teeth, but alas, she could do nothing. Lucia
came from the Chu family, if she ever complained to Andrew about her, the entire Shen Group would
disappear overnight, let alone her.
Jean then surpassed her anger, and said to herself, "Be patient. One day they will all pay for what
they've done to me."
All of a sudden, the door opened, and Jean turned around and saw John.
Jean then immediately stood up and walked up to him.
As soon as she approached John, she immediately smelled the wine coming off of him. She couldn't
help but cry out, "John, where the hell have you been all night? Why didn't you answer my phone calls?
Did you spend the night with other women?"
John squinted at her and ignored her completely, and instead continued to go on his way.
When she saw that he wasn't paying the slightest bit of attention to her, Jean grabbed his arm and then
stepped in front of him.
"John, answer my question!" said Jean.
While he looked at Jean, who was completely hysterical, John didn't want to talk to her at all.
"Don't be so annoying in the morning. Okay?" said John impatiently.
"What?" asked Jean, and with an unbelievable look on her face, continued, "Do you think I'm
annoying? Answer my question, now! Where were you last night? Why didn't you come back home?
Were you with that woman again?"
John thought that Jean was incredibly unreasonable, and as he shook off her hand, he shouted, "Get
out!"
Jean then stepped back a few steps.
Standing there, Jean became even angrier. How dared John treat her like that? She had been born and
brought up in a wealthy family. How could she ever tolerate this kind of humiliation?
She still didn't give up. She quickly stepped forward, grabbed John's arm, turned him around, and
forced him to look at her.
"John, how dare you do this to me?" yelled Jean.
He was already fed up with Jean, and he did not want to talk to her, but she kept on pestering him.
John yelled at her, "Get lost! Didn't you hear me the first time?" He was still tipsy, but his mind was
clear.
"John, why are you asking me to get out? I'm your wife, and I'm also the first lady of the state, and
nobody can take my place as long as I'm still alive. You can't let me leave!"
John, however, did not want to say a single other word to her. He shouted "Jean Shen, get the fuck
away from me!"
And with these words, he violently shook off her hand.
Jean fell on the ground helpless. She saw that John changed his mind, and that he walked out of the
house again.
Even after all of this, she was still unwilling to give up, and she shouted at the door, "John, don't ever
come back if you don't plan to stay!"
