I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 388

Chapter 388 The Only Choice

The project involved a collaboration where the Mitchell Group's partner contracted a newly built villa complex, with the Mitchell Group responsible for the interior design and environment. They aimed to transform the basic structures into fully furnished villas, potentially doubling the sale price. Harper's company, although primarily focused on architectural design, also specialized in high-end interior design.

It was the only choice for the Mitchell Group at the moment.

Frank immediately contacted Kimberly and agreed on a contract where the Mitchell Group would receive a three percent commission from the resale.

Once the partnership was confirmed, Frank told Harper, "I'll handle this project. You don't need to worry. I won't bother you. But you'll have to review the designs once they're out, or else I won't be at ease." Harper said with a smile, "Sure."

"I'll be paying my tuition fees."

"That might be pretty expensive."

Frank gazed at Harper, his eyes intense, and said earnestly, "It's okay if it's expensive, as long as you're willing."

Harper just blinked, instinctively looking up at him, then fell silent.

Their eyes met, Harper's lips slightly pursed, her eyebrows furrowed. She and Frank had been trying to keep their distance, but sometimes, that seemed only to complicate things further.

Especially when Frank looked into her eyes a bit too directly, making Harper feel uneasy.

The next second, he spoke softly. "Harper, did you have a fight with him?"

"No, why would you think that?" Harper replied, averted her gaze.

Frank's voice was low, his eyes still fixed on her. "If it's not a quarrel, then why is he being so intimate with another woman? He's married to you. He should be keeping his distance, even if he has no feelings for you. And now, with you carrying his child, isn't he being too much?" He was too much?

Harper laughed ruefully to herself,

unsure if it was excessive or not, but

she knew one thing. If Lauren needed him, he would rush to her side, his mind filled with thoughts of Lauren, hence not even answering his phone.

As she thought about it, her mood sank.

She bowed her head, unaware of the sly indifference that flickered in

Frank's eyes as she said calmly,

"Frank, thanks for speaking up foet

ove

me, but let's not discuss this anymore to avoid

misunderstandings."

"Misunderstanding? Harper, I don't mind being misunderstood. I just can't stand to see you mistreated."

His voice carried a hint of agitation.

Harper just smiled gently, "I'm not aggrieved, and I don't feel aggrieved."

"Really?"

"Really, I just prefer not to discuss my personal life much. Besides, some of this might just be the media sensationalizing things."

Although she said this, nobody knew her genuine feelings.

While they were deeply engrossed in their conversation, a man's low and somber voice suddenly interrupted, "Harper!"

Both Harper and Frank turned to

look as Benjamin stood at the office door. He had no intention of coming in, just watching her, and said, "Are you done? I came to pick you up from work. Let's go see your grandma together."

"Not yet. You can go ahead. I've already visited her."

Harper's response was somewhat cold.

Her words instantly made his face turn sullen, and he felt infuriated.RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

Benjamin stared at Harper, his eyes narrowing, and said coldly, "Is this how you want to talk to me, from a distance?"
