I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 367

Chapter 367 Jealousy

It was Benjamin calling.

Harper glanced at Annie and said, "If it's Michelle, it makes sense. She has always had her eye on me, thinking I'm clinging to Frank."

"What is wrong with Frank and his sister? Well, go ahead and answer the call!"Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.

Annie didn't have much fondness for Frank or Michelle.

Harper pressed the answer button on her phone.

A gentle male voice came through, asking, "Have Annie take your company's car back."

"Hmm?"

Harper looked around and spotted the familiar license plate not far away.

Benjamin continued, "Will you ride in my car?"

His soft inquiry held a hint of pleading.

Harper smiled, recalling his words from earlier in the resting room, which touched her heart.

She murmured, agreeing to ride with him.

After the call ended, Annie joked, "You can't hide the love in your eyes."

"Take them back to the company and let Frank wait me at the company," Harper instructed.

Annie retorted, "Benjamin is so cold. When he asked me to come to Mayby, he called several times. Now that he's back to buttering up his wife, I'm of no use?"

Harper knew Annie's sharp tongue and playfully reminded her, "Larry is in the car, too. Do you want to come with me?"

Annie brushed it off, saying, "Bye, we're heading back."

She hopped into the car, immediately signaling Liam to drive off, swift and efficient.

Harper watched the car leave before turning to walk toward Benjamin's car.

Once inside, she fastened her seat belt and asked, "Shouldn't you be having lunch with the others now?"

It was lunchtime.

Benjamin glanced at her and said, "After all that's happened, how could I have an appetite?"

Harper understood his meaning and remained silent, feeling vexed about the situation with Michelle.

Unaware of her thoughts, Benjamin assumed her silence was due to the day's unexpected events.

He remarked, "Why didn't you tell me about the stolen sketches? If something like that happened, you should've come straight to me. The staff on-site know you, and if you' had spoken up, the competition could have been temporarily suspended."

Harper had considered that option but felt it would be unfair to the others. Moreover, there would likely be a backlash if she had done so. She explained, "We made it through, right? It's a sign that good fortune is on my side."

Benjamin replied, "You have a positive outlook."

Harper added, "The only one who suffers from negativity is me. Would you really want me to dwell on this and make myself miserable?" Benjamin was left speechless by her question.

He wanted to pinch her cheeks, as he often did lately.

Ever since she had gained some weight and looked healthier, Benjamin found Harper more delightful to touch.

As the car drove, they approached a

red light. Benjamin reached for her hand, his voice deep. "I had Curtis look into this matter. The designer named Louisa is friends with Michelle. I've asked Curtis to send you some information later Maybe you can use it?"

Harper already knew about the connection between Louisa and Michelle, but she was surprised by Benjamin's thorough investigation. As for the information Curtis was going to send, she was confident it would be useful, even crucial.

She couldn't help but admire Benjamin's impressive efficiency.

In a hushed tone, Harper asked, "So you arranged for someone to look into Louisa right away?"
