I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 359

Chapter 359 Cautious

Harper furrowed her brow. Receiving such an anonymous call for the first time, she didn't show much reaction. Not wanting Sophia and the others to get nervous, Harper calmly responded, "You don't even dare let me hear your real voice, so what right do you have to ask me to withdraw?"

"I'm just advising you out of goodwill. If you don't want to, I can't force you. But I can tell you truthfully, you won't be selected for today's competition. If you don't believe me, let's wait and see?"

With that, the caller hung up, the arrogance and confidence in her words making Harper's brow furrow even tighter.

She wondered, "Who could it be?" Clutching her phone tightly, Harper had a grim expression.

She pressed her lips together, reminding herself, "I need to be cautious. Someone may be playing tricks to throw me off balance with this call. Regardless, I'm not afraid."

Harper showed no sign of unease, continuing to participate in the drawing inspection with Sophia and the others until it was time to leave.

Before departing, their colleagues cheered them on, with Frank personally seeing them off at the elevator. He encouraged her. "Relax, no matter the outcome, don't put pressure on yourself. This is just a competition, not a measure of your abilities." "Alright, I understand." Harper nodded.

"You three cooperate well with Ms. Mitchell. I've already booked a restaurant for tonight for everyone to gather."

"Don't worry, Mr. Parker." Sophia and the others chimed in.

Finally, Frank looked at Annie and said gently, "Annie, thank you for accompanying Harper to the competition venue." Annie replied nonchalantly, "Harper is my best friend. It's not a bother for me, just because it's her."

Frank forced a smile with a slightly uncomfortable expression.

Luckily, the elevator opened at that moment. Harper waved goodbye and led the four of them inside.

Frank stood outside, waving goodbye to them, then turned and walked back into the office.

Forty minutes later, Harper and the others arrived at the venue.

The staff led them to the designated resting room, where the participating designers could make their final preparations.

Once they reached the resting room, a staff member opened the door. "Ms. Mitchell, please prepare for your time on stage. We will bring fruits and coffee later, so we won't disturb you now." "Thank you, much appreciated."

"You're welcome."

After the staff member left, Harper suddenly thought of something. So, She asked Sophia to close the door and said, "Let's check if this place is secure or not."

turned off all the lights, used the

camera on her phone to scan around, and finally confirmed that there were only the standard surveillance cameras in each room, which put Harper at ease.

Seeing this, Annie couldn't help but ask, "Harper, why are you being so cautious?"

"It's always good to be cautious," Harper responded. Especially after that phone call, she had to be extra careful.

Annie didn't think much of it, just assuming Harper was taking the competition seriously.

With a little over an hour before the competition officially started, Harper had Sophia, open the computer again to double-check the drawings. After confirming everything was in order, Harper went to the restroom with Annie.

Annie knew it had been a long time since Harper had participated in such a large-scale competition. She reassured Harper, "My dear, are you nervous? Actually, don't be nervous. I know your abilities are the best. There will definitely be no problems."
