Chapter 11
Once cherished and adored, Evie now appeared utterly wretched.
I looked at her, feeling nothing but a faint mix of sympathy and derision. Someone like her didn’t deserve forgiveness!
Mom and Eric, on the other hand, grew even angrier, their hands striking her repeatedly, like raindrops falling in a storm.
It was as if they needed to unleash all their frustrations onto her, while Evie’s body trembled, presenting an image of utter helplessness.
Already battered, she endured yet another round of blows; soon, her L.eath grew shallow.
Her eyes widened in disbelief, desperately clinging to hope, but my Mom swatted her hand aside.
Just like the countless times she had dismissed my pleas for help in the past.
“How can you be so despicable? Even now, you’re still thinking you can use money to support that guy on the side? Give it back to me!”
Eric added insult to injury, gripping her throat and demanding loudly; without money, their situation here was dire!
Evie stared wide–eyed, her mouth opening, yet her body grew increasingly cold.Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
It wasn’t until her body stiffened that Eric noticed something was wrong and quickly pulled her clothing aside.
The once–pure skin was marred with bruises and welts, evidence of the countless abuses she had suffered!
Mom screamed, stumbling back two steps before collapsing onto the ground. Although the soft blanket cushioned her fall, it did little to ease her overwhelming pain, and she instinctively crawled backward in terror.
“You’re the one who killed her! You did it!” My Mom murmured, repeating the accusation, offloading all the blame onto Eric.
Eric regarded Mom’s deranged state with a flicker of cold resolve, h demeanor shifting to one of reckless abandon. “Nonsense! You killer her, you old hag!”
Without a phone to call for help, all their valuables had been taken by Evie.
All my Mom could do was scream.
But Eric’s eyes burned with a fierce determination.
In a moment of grim decisiveness, he took the remaining rope and bound my Mom tightly!
“It’s all your fault, you old hag! You killed Aria! I’m just here to avenge her!”
He repeated this several times, as if trying to convince himself.
With a piece of cloth, he gagged my Mom and then struck her twice, hard.
The hotel was stocked with various cooking utensils, a selection my Mom had painstakingly curated, fearing that their stomachs wouldn’t handle outside food.
I should have been the one taking care of them, cooking for them!
But now, that very knife became the deadliest weapon. Eric plunged it into my Mom’s wrist, blood spraying everywhere.
Yet in his eyes was a glint of madness.
“You old hag, I’m sending you all straight to hell! You will pay for what you’ve done to Aria!”
