Sharing a Bottle
As dawn's light melts into the sea, his breath melted against her skin, seeping deep into her bones. The glass nearly slipped from her hand, but he caught it swiftly by wrapping his hand around hers. He took the glass from her hand and placed it on the side. She clutched the counter's edge, feeling nervous.
"Why weren't you at school today?" he asked, his breath searing her flesh with deliberate heat. Her skin broke into goosebumps, her heart galloping like a wild horse fleeing a blaze.
"I asked you something, princess," he said, pressing closer. His voice calm yet dripping with undeniable authority.
"I..I wasn't feeling well," she stuttered, anxiety gripping her already wavering voice.
"You were not?" he murmured, his deep voice a low vibration as his mouth ghosted over the slope of her neck.
She shivered visibly in his embrace before she managed, "No."
"Is that why you were not answering my calls too?" he asked, trailing featherlight kisses down her neck.
"Please," she implored, squirming uncomfortably in his arms.
"Don't," he warned, mouth still lingering on her skin. "You've made too many mistakes to demand anything from me."
She firmly clutched the counter's edge, her nerves fraying like a worn out rope.
"Now, answer me," he murmured against her neck.
"I... I am sorry," she apologised, knowing very well that if she told him the truth, he would be even more ruthless with her.
He hummed, distracted by the soft warmth of her skin. Her breath hitched as his fingers trailed up her arm, slow and deliberate, before tugging her sleeve down, baring her shoulder to his eyes.noveldrama
With a content sigh, he lowered his head, tracing the delicate curve of her clavicle with his mouth. A shiver ran through her like a streak of lightning. The girl almost yelped as he bit down on her bone, hard and deep. The searing pain was too much to bear. Dracula.
He withdrew slightly, his tongue swept over the bright red hickey, easing the lingering pain. She momentarily closed her eyes, letting the sense of relief wash over her. He kissed the mark before pulling the sleeve up and finally stepping away.
Her eyes were still closed in embarrassment as he lifted the glass and emptied it, his gaze never once leaving her. Setting the empty glass on the counter, he turned without a word and walked out.
She opened her eyes only after she heard the light thud of the door closing. With him gone, the room felt light and vast. Her knees buckled and she sank to the floor, tears streaming down her cheeks.
She stayed there for a few minutes before wiping away her tears and getting up. She went to her room to paint with Hannah.
Nate heaved a heavy sigh, flashes of their intimate moments replaying in his head. She was incredibly soft, irresistibly tempting. She was a whirlpool, sucking him in deeper and deeper. He just couldn't understand how she was doing this? His self-control snaps like a thin thread every time she appears in his sight- shimmering like the sea under the golden sun.
He fetched a cigarette from his pocket and lit it up. Closing the windows, he took a deep drag, letting the thick smoke wrap around him, clouding his brain. He closed his eyes, wanting to savor the smoke without any thought. But her face tore through the fog, claiming his thoughts like she fucking owned it.
He opened his eyes and shot a glance at her window. He was still there, waiting for agonising hours to get over so that he could go back and see her again. Fucking pathetic! He knew it and he hated her for making him feel like this. She was the bane of his existence.
"Fuck it," he growled before tearing his eyes away from her window and igniting the engine.
He went over to Dave's to kill some time. He can't keep thinking about her.
"Up for a game?" Dave asked, throwing the remote towards him. Nate caught the remote in answer.
They began playing.
Her heart missed
beat as soon as the doorbell rang. She glanced at the clock to learn it was already 8. It was him.
"Must be Nate," Hannah confirmed before she began gathering her colors and sketchbook.
Sera reluctantly got to her feet to go downstairs and open the door. He didn't like to wait. Her feet felt like stone as she propelled them forward. If only she could, somehow, expunge him from her life.
She opened the door to face her nightmare. He was unbelievably handsome like his dad but his beauty was skin deep.
Their eyes met, scaring her, thrilling him.
She opened her mouth to speak when Hannah interrupted, "Nate,"
Nate glanced over her shoulder to look at Hannah. She observed as his features visibly softened for his little sister. It both confused and frustrated her. She couldn't understand why he was so hard only on her.
"I've brought your favorite juice," Nate announced, before marching into her house without her permission. Sera let out a sigh before closing the door.
Hannah was overjoyed to hear that. She loved juice.
He had brought only two bottles. Sera couldn't help but feel irritated. She knew one was for him nd the other was for Hannah. They could have drunk it in their car, but no, he had to make her feel left out.
He gave one to Hannah while she stood at a distance. Hannah started drinking as she loved juice. Screwing open the another bottle, he began drinking from it.
"Where is Sera's?" Hannah asked as she noticed her without a bottle. Nate flung a glance at Sera before extending his hand towards her.
"Have some from it," he offered, his voice was soft yet his eyes held unmistakable command. She briefly glanced at his half-empty bottle before shaking her head in
no.
"I'm fine. I don't like juice that much," she refused, not wanting to drink from his used bottle. Nate's jaw locked tight as he figured it out by her troubled expression.
"I insist," he insisted, which sounded more like a warning. Sera fidgeted with her fingers, not wanting to obey.
"It's okay. Take mine," Hannah offered. Sera readily took her bottle and drank from
it.
Nate wasn't pleased.
"Let's go," Nate instructed his sister, a hint of rage seeped into his tone. And then without a word, he strolled out of her house, his body rigid with tension. Hannah followed his brother out after saying her goodbye.
She was blissfully oblivious to the rage that was currently brewing inside her brother, but Sera had sensed his anger and now she was on edge.
She returned to her room and had barely taken a breath when she felt the door opening. Her heart came into her mouth when she turned and locked eyes with him.
He was standing at the doorway, carrying the same bottle he had offered her.
Her terror mounting with every step he took to close the distance between them.
His eyes held something dark, something dangerous.
She remained rooted to her spot, watching him.
He came to stand in front of her.
"Wha..what's wrong?" she worked her dry throat.
"Why did you refuse to drink from my bottle?" he demanded in a low yet commanding voice. The rough edges of his voice and annoyance simmering in his eyes hinted at his irritation. She blinked, not sure how to answer his question.
Without breaking their eye contact, he lifted the bottle to her eye view and deliberately spat into it.
She watched him utterly confused as he held out the bottle to her.
"Drink it," he commanded, leaving no room for argument. Sera was shocked.
