His Innocent Sera

Proposal

A few moments later, a group of waiters emerged from somewhere and began serving them food. He issued orders to the waiter while Sera tried to read his face. It was difficult to decipher what was going on in his head.

The waiters left after filling their plates, leaving them alone. Nate gestured for her to dig in before picking up his own fork.

"Just a few days more. After our wedding, we'll return to my estate," Nate told her. Ever since he had shared his intentions with her, the word "wedding' felt like a noose around her throat.

"Don't worry about my family, they'll come around. My mom can't stay mad with me for too long," he added in an attempt to assure her.

"And my family? She asked hesitantly, causing him to look up at her. "Do you know anything about my....Mr. and Mrs. Diaz and Dyson?"

Even though they had abandoned her, a part of her still wondered if Mr. Diaz was okay or not. He was shot because of her.

"You still care about those fuckers?" he asked, a hint of irritation laced his voice. The mere mention of them was enough to sour his mood.

"I just wanna know," she answered, lowering her gaze. She knew she shouldn't be asking about them after everything that happened. But she couldn't help it. They had never loved her, but she did.noveldrama

"Why?" he asked, leaning closer. Those people didn't deserve her concern and

care.

"They..they might never have seen me as family, but I did. She was my mom. He was my dad. At least, that's what I believed... until that day. Maybe they weren't attached to me, but I was to them. Completely," her eyes mirrored the ache in her heart as she confessed. How was she supposed to move on so easily from her family of 18 years? The tears shimmering in her eyes tugged at his heartstrings.

"I'll make them pay," he promised in a steely voice. Not only them but also Antonio. He'll bring hell down on each of them for hurting her. They'll beg for his mercy, but he won't show them any.

She shook her head.

"No. Don't hurt them. They were forced into it, too," she said through the rock stuck in her throat. All this time, she wanted to ease their burden, not knowing she was the burden. But she held no grudges against them. The truth was always in their behaviour; she just played blind to it.

"You've already forgiven them, haven't you?" he asked softly, already knowing how forgiving his girl was.

"They were so sick of me that.." her voice cracked under the weight of her anguish before she forced herself to continue, "....they didn't even hesitate to send me with you." Masking her sorrow, she added, "They were already suffering for the last 18 years."

Nate wasn't surprised. She always found a way to forgive others. That was just her specialty. But he wasn't as merciful as her. He'd get her revenge, that much was certain. She just didn't need to know about it.

After dinner, they sat by the waterfall. Cool sprays of water kissed their skin with each passing gust, filling her heart with quiet. fulfilment. With lights dancing across the waterfall, the scene looked like something out of a painting. She was mesmerised. And he was, too. More mesmerised than she could ever be. If only she had bothered to glance his way, she would have seen the depth of his admiration for her.

"Do you like it?" he asked, his raptured gaze trailing over her features with tenderness that bordered on something more than just a selfish obsession.

"The lights above the waterfall....it resembles aurora lights," she said, admiration deep in her voice. Nate's gaze shifted to the artificial aurora hovering over the waterfall.

"Aurora lights are way more beautiful," he told her, immediately getting her attention. She looked at him.

Curiosity brimmed her eyes as she questioned, "Have you seen them?" Nate gazed down at her.

"Yes. Lots of times," he replied. Sera nodded, but the awe in her eyes betrayed her. He easily caught the silent yearning in her eyes to see it for herself. He smiled softly. He gazed at her for a moment, something gentle settling behind his smile.

"I'll take you too," he said gently, like a promise meant only for her. Sera was visibly surprised to hear it. It is then and there he decided they would go to Norway for their honeymoon, and then he would take her on a world tour.

He took her hand in his and

"Just like my parents, I want to build a marriage with you, one founded on love, trust, and endless happiness," he said, slipping the ring on her ring finger. It was her engagement ring.

She stared at the ring, unsure as to

how to respond. She then felt him leaning in, his face inching closer, "Be mine, and this whole world will be yours, princess." With the declaration made, he sealed her lips with his. He kissed her deeply and fervently. He needed only two things from her - her unwavering loyalty and physical intimacy. He knew he wouldn't get her affection this soon, he would have to work on it. But right now, he wouldn't compromise both with her loyalty and his physical needs. He'll sate her desires, and she'll have to submit to his wants

too.

He pulled a sleeve off her shoulder, causing him to gasp and recoil. His hungry eyes dared her to move away from him. She looked around with her anxious

eyes.

"Someone will see," she said, hoping he wouldn't proceed for the fear of being caught.

Grabbing her arms, he pulled her back against his chest and claimed, "No one's here. It's just us." His voice was heavy with desire, eyes blazing with need.

He scooped her up in his arms and began towards their tent with purposeful strides. She read his face before gazing up into the sky, aware he was going to stay buried inside her until the stars and moon faded away.
