His Games, Her Rules

Sixty

“I guess you like it.” A familiar, husky voice says and I notice he’s standing behind me.

I can feel his warmth even though he’s not touching me yet. If I take a little step back, I’ll be rubbing my butt against his crotch. Dominique surprisingly puts his arms around me and spins me around so that we’re staring at each other.

“I’m sorry if you think I was interrogating you. Genuinely, I was only trying to get to know you,” he whispers. With his left arm still around my waist, Dominique brings his right hand to my hair and pushes a few wayward strands out of my face and behind my ear. “I promise I’m not gonna talk about shit like that unless you want to talk about it.” he brings his gaze to my eyes and then he shifts it to my lips, lingering for a few seconds before he brings his gaze to my eyes again.

“You are beautiful.”

His sweet words go straight to my brain, shutting it down and sending electricity down my spine and straight to my toes. I have never felt this way before, not with anyone. God, what’s this man doing to me?

“Sounding all sweet and romantic will not make me change my mind about sharing a bed. You’re taking the couch.” I step away from his hold, regretting it the minute his hands slip away from me. I hate to think I love his hands on me and I’d give anything to have him hold me like that again.

Dominique laughs, the sound bouncing off the walls of the bedroom.

“Are you sure I can’t change your mind?”

“No, you can’t,” I say as I turn toward the built-in wardrobe door and pull it open.

Behold, there are different kinds of clothing here. Ranging from dresses, tops, bags, and even shoes, all of them designers. And obviously for me. Is this why he said I shouldn’t pack a bag?

I turn around to stare at Dominique who’s been watching me with an unfamiliar glint in his eyes. “Are these mine?”

“Yes. They are all yours.”

“Huh.” I’m smiling as I turn to look at this closet stacked with expensive clothes that are enough to wear for months.

I pull open the drawer at the bottom, surprised to find different kinds of jewelry in it. Watches, bracelets, necklaces. All of them are expensive.

This may mean nothing, but I feel special. Like this is real when it’s not. I am here because I lost a game. It feels like we are an actual couple out here on a vacation. And I hate to admit it, but I am happy I lost. A part of me wishes this is real. Maybe spending some time with Dominique and his family is something I need.

“Wow. They’re pretty and expensive. Thank you.” I turn to look at Dominique, a big smile on my face. “You didn’t have to do all of this, you know? These are a lot.”

“They are all yours,” he answers dismissively. “It’s nothing really.”Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

“It’s something to me. Thanks.”

“It’s the least I can do. I brought you out here, remember?”

“Trying to play nice doesn’t suit you at all.” I point out and he chuckles. “How did you know my size?”

“I may have sent the personal shopper a photo of you.”

“Is that so?”

“Nope. I reached out to Monique through Leo. She told him you were a size 8.” Dominique says, a playful smile on his lips as I shake my head.

“Of course, it’s Monique. I’m gonna kill her.” I mutter under my breath. “Thank you for this. And for the clothes. I hate to admit it, but I’m glad you brought me out here.”

“Hmm. I’m happy you like them,” he says, a small smile playing on his lips. I nod, blushing. I can’t remember the last time a man made me blush.

“I should leave you to get ready.”

“Get ready for what?”

“To introduce you to the family.” Dominique gives me a mischievous smile as he turns to the bedroom door.

“Wait! What? We can’t do that tomorrow? I’m jet lagged and trust me I’m not the best version of myself when I’m having motion sickness.”

Dominique pauses by the door as he turns to look at me.

“Okay, tomorrow then.”

“Thanks.” I flash him a small seductive smirk as we stare at each other in heated passion.

Dominique stalls, not moving from his position as he stares at me.

“I want to take a shower, Dom,” I whisper, biting the corner of my lip. “I need a little privacy.”

Dominique chuckles. “Of course. Take your time.” With a smirk playing on his perfect face, Dominique steps out of the bedroom, shutting the door behind him.

I shut my eyes and take a deep breath.

“Fuck my life,” I mutter under my breath as I get undressed and walk toward the bathroom naked.

Dominique hasn’t returned and it’s 9 pm. I’m cuddled up on the couch opposite the large TV screen watching a murder documentary and I’m sleepy already. After I took my bath, I had gone down to the beach with nothing but denim ripped shorts that were just below my butt and a white crop top as I watched the waves and the ocean. I nearly punched a guy in the nut who wouldn’t take a hint after he tried to ask me out. Then I came back to our penthouse suite hoping Dominique was back, but he wasn’t.

I took another bath, ordered dinner for myself and room service brought it up. I changed into a red night dress with a short split on the left side of the dress and then I ate. After eating, I looked for a blanket and wrapped it around myself to watch TV. There is a TV in the bedroom but for some reason, I chose the one in the living room and part of the reason was that Dominique wasn’t here and I maybe, sort of missed him. Which was just pathetic and stupid.

Earlier, I wanted to call him, but I realized I didn’t have his number. As I stare at the TV, my eyelids are slowly closing up and I need sleep. I need to stay awake so when he comes back from wherever he went, I can yell at him. I mean, how could he bring me here and then leave me alone, all by myself? I know I sound like a nagging annoying girlfriend right now, but he made me into this mess the minute he started whispering into my ears and telling me about how much he wants me, and how beautiful I look, and my heart started beating so fast whenever he’s around. So, yes, this is all his fault.

I fight the sleep away, blinking my eyes open, but failing. I yawn for the millionth time as I slowly give in to sleep, holding the blanket tight against my chest. I don’t know how long I’ve been sleeping, but a warm hand on my body and a familiar scent stir me awake. With my eyes slightly open and also half asleep, I lock eyes with a pair of blue eyes that belong to the one man who has stirred up different kinds of emotions in my stomach. I notice he’s walking and I’m in his arms. Slowly, my back hits a soft, comfy surface that feels like a bed. Dominique gently pushes my strands of hair out of my face as he stares into my eyes. He grabs the comforter and covers me with it.

“Where were you?” I whisper, eyes slightly opened as they stare into his blue orbs.

“Go to sleep, babe.” Dominique smiles at me as he presses his lips to my forehead.

When he pulls away, he lingers for a minute before standing up. With a deep sigh, Dominique stands up and disappears into the darkness as I slowly fall back to sleep.
