His Eagle Eyes on Me

Chapter 3170

Throughout the meal, Ivy found it hard to enjoy her food.

Lucas and Hayden discussed everything that mattered, and the conversation went smoother than anyone had anticipated. Hayden was not upset, nor was Lucas.

It was a better scenario than what Ivy had hoped for, but she still felt depressed.

"Lucas, my husband and I would like to pay your mother a visit. Would that be okay?" Shelly asked after finishing her food.Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.

"Sure," Lucas said.

"Don't we need to ask your mom first?" Ivy asked.

"It's fine. We can just head over right away and introduce them once we arrive."

Lucas' mother grew weaker every day and had stopped using her phone altogether, so it was her nurse, whom Lucas had hired, who reported his mother's condition to him daily.

"You restarted your business and have to take care of your mother simultaneously; you're really strong. Most people would crumble under the pressure," Shelly commented. "Ivy had a tougher life before. She didn't crumble, so I won't either," Lucas said.

"Haha! Both of you are very strong individuals. The hardships of life can't break you now, and they won't in the future."

Ivy chimed in, "Shelly, you're really kind! Besides my mom, you're the gentlest woman I know."

Shelly blushed at the compliment.

"If your sister hears this, she might get upset," Hayden teased.

"Layla is different! She's like a superhero to me, just not the gentle kind," Ivy argued.

"Layla would probably prefer being a superhero," Shelly commented.

"Regardless, Layla won't be mad at me."

"Are you all done eating? If you're done, I'll have your brother handle the bill," Shelly said.

Hayden stood up immediately upon hearing this.

Lucas also rose, saying, "I'll take care of the bill."

Ivy pleaded with Hayden, "Hayden, let him treat us! You've come all this way; we can't let you pay."

Hayden relented. "All right. Your sister-in-law and I will go grab something outside. You two can wait for us in the hotel lobby." "Okay," Ivy said.

Once Hayden and Shelly had left, Ivy

followed Lucas to the cashier and said, "My big brother tends to be very straightforward in conversation. Don't get upset with him."

Lucas handed his card to the cashier. "You've told me that many times already."

"So, how did it feel to meet them? Isn't my sister-in-law really nice? She's just an ordinary person."

"Your big brother and sister-in-law are both great."

Ivy grinned. "If you think my big

brother is nice, you would think that

my sister and little brother are even nicer. They're just like my

sister-in-law. My mom is wonderful, too."

"What about your dad?"

Ivy's smile faltered. "My dad might be a bit strict. Probably even stricter than my big brother. It's okay, though. He has a fatal weakness my mom My dad listens to her, and she spoils me, so they shouldn't make things difficult for you. Just focus on your work. I'll be waiting for you."

After settling the bill, Lucas and Ivy returned to the lobby.

"Ivy, you should go home with your big brother and sister-in-law. I can't leave this country now."
