Chapter 3130
"Don't misunderstand me! I don't consider you a substitute for my ex. You're much better than him. My ex had no ambition and nowhere near your level of competence..."
Lucas raised an eyebrow. "Ms. Feake, I'm not interested in your personal life."
Missy chuckled. "Then what are you interested in? Lucas, there's no one else here so you don't need to be so cautious."
"I'm not being cautious; I'm speaking the truth. Ms. Feake, give up on any notions you might have. I'm not interested in you." Lucas' tone grew sterner. "I'm not interested in investing in your father's company either. If it wasn't for Caspian's insistence, I would never have met with you."
Lucas' cold and detached attitude shocked Missy. She had never seen such an indifferent man, apart from Hayden.
She had once been infatuated with Hayden. She had been coldly rejected by him in a similarly straightforward manner.
"Could you please explain why you don't like me? I'm good-looking, and I have a great body..." Missy remarked curiously. "Or is it that you like your little assistant better? Who is she? What about her attracts you?"
Missy was eager to know if Lucas had discovered Ivy's true identity.
Lucas glanced momentarily at the area below Missy's neck. "I don't like women who wear heavy makeup, and I'm not fond of your artificially enhanced figure. My assistant is far better than you."
Missy's face twisted in anger. "Does your assistant have as much money as I do? If you date me, I could save you twenty years' worth of struggle!"
"I enjoy the struggle," Lucas said.
Missy fell silent.
"Don't bring up my assistant again. We are not dating or anything so

her. I don't think there's a need
for
this meal to continue nor for discussion about our potential collaboration."
A soft expression crept across Missy's face. Please don't get upset! Since you're not interested in me, I'll give up. Our collaboration still needs to continue or else my father will give me a hard time." Missy picked up her wine glass, downed its contents, and then stood up. "Give me the form by tonight, okay?"
Lucas's expression remained indifferent. "We'll see."
After Missy left, Lucas summoned the waiter to settle the bill.
Meanwhile, when she returned to the hotel, Missy called Hayden to report her findings. "Mr. Tate, I'm not even Lucas's type. You should have found someone like your younger sister to try and seduce him." After a few moments of silence, Hayden said, "Does he know who my sister is?"
"I don't think so. He doesn't seem to care and wasn't really interested in the investment either. He is prideful and cool... It's no wonder your sister is into him. Young girls like cool boys."
"Just collect the form and leave. I will send others."
"Mr. Tate, I think you need to aim higher. Some men just aren't that interested in the opposite sex."
Hayden hesitated for a moment before agreeing with her.
Half an hour later, Lucas returned to the office to find Ivy napping, her head resting on the reception table.
She opened her eyes at the sound of
footsteps approaching and
immediately walked over to him.
"Mr. Woods, how did it go with Meet
Feake? You are back so soon. Nothing happened between you, right?" Ivy desperately wanted to know if Lucas had passed Hayden's test.
