His Deceptress Wife

CHAPTER TWO

“What?” Everyone asked me the same question. I am in the office right now with my friends explaining everything about that fucking wedding.

“I’m getting married with Grandpa’s adapted.”

“Is that a joke a ‘bro?” Jace asked while laughing. He’s our Chief Marketing Officer. A slow and nonsense talker.

“Fucking serious, sucker?” Zeus the Chief Financial Officer asked.

“Are you playing with us, man?” Blaze our Chief Strategy Officer asked seriously.

“Would you please shut up, guys? Let Phoenix explain his side. You already had a conclusion.” Diana Dane, the only girl. The eldest in the group and we are here in her office. She’s our CEO while I am the Chief Operating Officer. “But seriously, Nix? You will get married?”

“Don’t call me Nix, Dane, and yes, I have no choice. Grandpa won’t help me.”

“So, this is all about the Luxury?” Dane asked so I sighed. They are my friends since elementary, even though we separated in high school we were together again during college in the USA, except for Dane but we still keep in touch with her. Until Dane graduated and she followed us in the USA and there we started a small business. And extended it here in the Philippines.

“What’s with the Luxury and you’re so eager to be a part-owner there?” Blaze asks but I didn’t answer.

“Maybe he had his first sex — ouch!” I threw a pillow at Jace because of what he said.

“He first met Jessa in Luxury.” I look at Dane badly because of what she said. “What? It’s true isn’t it?”

“You still can’t move on with your ex? She’s getting married and you’re also invited,” Zeus said.Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

“Besides, even if her wedding will be delayed, you will be the one to get married. So, what’s the use of having the Luxury if you’re taken already? Wasting money, wasting life.” Blaze speaks rarely but once he talked he will slap you the saddest truth.

“Still, I want it,” I said.

“Let him. He will be the one who tie up, not us,” Jace said. “When is the wedding?” he added.

“Sunday.”

“What?”

“Grandpa wants it quickly.”

“And you agree?” Dane asked incredulously.

“Do I have a choice? He already sent me the money and I transfer it to Luxury. Now, if one of you will lend me right now so that I can return the money to grandpa. I will refuse his offer.” Everyone looks at each other and no one answers. “See, we both don’t have enough.”

“You know, when I see your ex, I’ll slap her left and right.”

“Dane!”

“She has a big effect on you, but you didn’t marry her,” she added.

“This is the bullshit decision that I’ve been hearing for my entire life,” Blaze said.

“Are you saying that I am bullshit?”

“Not you, Phoenix, but your decision, and I am stating the fact.”

“Whatever, I just came here to inform you about the wedding and to file a leave. If you want to attend the wedding you are welcome. If not, okay. This is not important after all.” Then I stood up.

“We’ll be there.” Everyone looked at Dane. “What? He’ll be the first to get marry. If Jace’s did not run to his wedding. So we should be there in yours.”

“Ok, we’ll be there. I have a meeting so I’ll go first. See you on your wedding day, man.” Blaze left first.

“Do you have any pending works that you want to pass with me?” Zeus asked. I shook my head as a reply. “Ok then, I have a meeting also.” Then he stood up next.

“I didn’t have a car because it’s in the garage, so I will go with Zeus,” Jace said. “See you, and you Dane, your mouth is still filthy.”

“Whatever, run-away groom,” Dane teased her.

When everyone left, I also stood up to leave when Dane suddenly spoke.

“Are you sure about your decision?” she asked.

“What do you mean?”

“Marriage is a long time commitment. When you get married you can’t get away with it right away. There is no divorce in Philippines. There is an annulment but it will take how many years depends on your partner if she will cooperates.” I get back sitting and faced Dane.

“I have no choice, Dane.”

“You have if you let her go. Take back the money and tell them you changed your mind then return it back to your grandfather.”

“I can’t.”

“Why?”

“Because I still love her.” I did not hear anything from her. “In Luxury, we have a lot of good memories.” I saw her stand up and approach me.

“You still love her but you didn’t fight her?”

“I was young at that time.”

“She asked you to marry her but you rejected her. She’s getting married so let her go.”

“No, when I get my share. I will file an annulment. I will get Jessa back.”

“You will cheat on your grandfather?”

“Why not? He knows I don’t like that woman.”

“Why do you hate her? She did not do anything to you. We met her before and she’s nice.”

“Did she hypnotize you too?”

“She’s nice.” She repeated.

“She took everything from me, my grandpa, my parents, the servants’ attention in the mansion and she almost took you from me.”

“Is that the reason why you stopped us to visit you in the mansion?” I averted my eyes before answering.

“Yes.”

“Too immature,” she hissed.

“What?”

“I said your reason is immature. She doesn’t make friends with us. We are the ones who approached first her because we saw her playing alone. And since I am the only girl in our group I made friends with her.”

“You approached her because she was begging. Because she uses her charm to attract others’ attention.”

“You know, if I just didn’t know how much you love Jessa. I’d think you liked Hailey.”

“Don’t mention her name. And what the hell are you thinking, Dane? Me, will like that deceptress woman?”

“The more you hate the more love.”

“Seriously, Dane? Of all people, do you really think I like her?”

“I am saying my opinion.”

“Whatever.” I stood up and left.

I just went to my condo and got some important things. I make sure the unit is secured before I leave. I drove on the way to the mansion. I know that I make the stupid decisions but I will do everything for the sake of Luxury. I will not miss this opportunity to be a part of the Hotel.

They are right, I am stupid to let her go. She asked me to marry her, but I refused because I was still studying in college. I didn’t even introduce him to my parents because Dad strictly said no girlfriend until graduation. She’s hurt and she broke up with me. I didn’t chase her even though I loved her. When I finished studying I looked for her only to found out that she is happy already with her new.

I am hurt, I am devastated. I begged her to come back. And he said only one thing. She will come back to me when I become part-owner of the Luxury Hotel. The Hotel where we first met and became lovers. I agree, so I did everything to be a part owner. But the owner of Luxury is too rich. Even so, I left my card with them and said I was willing to invest if ever.

I found out that Jessa will getting married. Until the hotel got into trouble for some reason and I was invited to invest with them. Jessa will get married in America. So, if everything goes ok, she can get a divorce. While I can file an annulment.

I reached the mansion and park the car. As I descended I saw the deceitful woman talking to the workers. The viscosity of the male workers’ gaze on him was obvious. She really loves attention. No wonder if she is no longer a virgin.

I remember what happened yesterday. When he saw me she lost her energy. She bent down and didn’t move until grandpa called her. They talked as if I wasn’t there. She even kissed grandpa on the forehead like the way I did.

Damn! I can’t believe I will give her a child. He will use my last name. I’ll just take that 25% share and leave her. I carried my things through my room when I saw grandpa outside his room.

“Can we talk?” he asked.

“Regarding on?”

“Follow me in my office.”

I just put the bag I was carrying in the bedroom and headed to grandpa’s office.

“What are we talking about?” I asked as I sat down.

“Take care of her.” I furrowed my forehead upon hearing those words.

“What?”

“She doesn’t have any family. Her father side hates her. Her mother side doesn’t want her. You will be the only one he have.” I smirk as if I care.

“Our deal is just to marry her. Not to be her guardian.”

“Time will come you will look at her like the way we did.”

“I’m not sure, grandpa.”

“She’s not the one you think she is.”

“Whatever, are we done?”

“Protect her, when something bad happens to her before you give her a child. You can’t have anything.”

“And now she’s my obligation also?”

“Yes. You will take care of her and protect her as long as you have no children, and cannot be divorced until you have children. Or else you can’t have the last share.”

Damn, that tricky manipulative woman for sure the reason for this.
