CHAPTER 34

I and mother woke up early the next day for our flight. Hawa was to take us to the airport the next day, I

looked out the window from the back sit as Hawa drove slowly to the airport. I was actually starting to

really love Abuja even though I didn't even really know it very well. I hadn't really explored Abuja. I was

still new to some things but I was already missing the whole place. We boarded the plane few minutes

later and landed in Lagos in about 45 minutes after we got on the plane.

I looked out the window as Karina drove I and mother home. I had been very quiet all through the

journey and I could feel mother could sense how I was feeling and she had tried earlier to get me to

talk about talking about an aunt of mine that just got back from the states but I hadn't been interested.

It felt good to be back home but then I wished it was on a different circumstances. I could already see

the hustling and bustling in Lagos. It was so different from Abuja, people going about with some bus

drivers shouting at bikers and others either shouting at one another, some people rushing to grab the

bus and others going about their normal business.

"Is there anything you will like us to get before we get home" mother said as she looked back at me

from the front seat.

"I am fine" I answered.

"There is this new pizza place not far from here. I think we should get it. It's very nice, the way you like

it" karina said trying to convince me.

"No,I think I am okay" I answered. I never reject a pizza offer and so Karina and mother new something

was definitely still disturbing me alot.

"I just really want to sleep now. I am tired" I said and I saw mother and Karina look at one another.

They were vividly very worried about me. I wished there was a way I could make them less worried and

concerned but there wasn't. I didn't want to bother them so much about my issue but there was nothing

I could do.

About an hour later with traffic on the way. we finally got home. Karina and mother helped me with my

bags inside.

"I have arranged your room for you"karina said, as we entered into the house.

"Thanks dear, I will just go upstairs to shower and sleep" I said.

"Are you sure you're okay, you can stay with I and Karina down here fo talk and all" mother suggested

"Mother, I am fine, trust me" I said before going up the stairs to my room. I wasn't sure my self if I was

doing fine or not. I just wanted to be fine. I was confused and was second guessing my decision every

minute. Maybe I should have stayed, maybe I was too harsh, maybe I was over reacting. So many

thoughts in my head and I hated it. I closed my eyes tightly after laying in bed, I just wanted it all to go

away. I wanted to sleep and at least forget all this was happening even if it was for some hours.
