CHAPTER 31

It's been about a week since I had been in the hospital and I was getting discharged today. Ridwan still

didn't stop calling then I had to switch off my phones and he called mother or Hawa instead to check on

at me probably not as much as I was the first day but then I had made up my mind about moving back

to lagos once I packed my stuffs from the house. I and mother would sleep at an hotel before our flight

"You should take care of your self and do not forget to use all the medications that was given to you

too" The doctor advised before letting me go. He stood by my hospital bed as I sat up straight listening

to all he had to say.

"I will doctor, I feel so much better actually" I said with a smile.

"I am glad to see that smile" The doctor said

"Please take care of her" The doctor said as he glanced at mother.

"Yes I will" mother nodded abruptly then the doctor left and it was time to leave and apparently when

we had wanted to settle the bill told me that Ridwan had insisted he was going to since it was his

responsibility to me as his wife.

"Hawa, please have you booked our flights for tomorrow" I asked as I turned to face her.

"Yes I have" she confirmed.

"Thanks "

"Are you sure you want to do this, are you sure it's the right thing to do" mother asked concerned. I

knew she was vividly concerned.her first daughter wanting to just pack out of her husbands house after

just getting married Whatfor about a year. What would the world say? What would people say? I could

see it in her eyes.

"Mother, I really don't know what is right about this whole thing and what is not. I just have a gut feeling

that this is what I need to do and what I have to do" I explained.

"So, are you leaving him. Getting a divorce?" Mother asked concerned.

"Mother I don't know yet, it could get there but right now I know I need my space. We probably both

need that space" I said

"If you say so" mother said then I strectched my hands on hers gently.

"I will be fine mother, you don't need to worry about be as much as you used to. I am a grown woman

now and I can make some decisions by myself. All I need from you is your support in all this. I can't do

this alone, I still clearly love Ridwan and I know this step I am taking is going to be really hard for me

and I need you. I need all of you to be there for me" I explained.

"I will always be here for you and you know that" mother said then smiled.
