Her Life Starts to Spin out of Control

Chapter 109 Through Thick and Thin

Chapter 109 Through Thick and Thin

"Don't worry, father. I'm fine!" Sophia embraced her father firmly, feeling ecstatic that Jay was sober

enough to recognize her.

Jay patted his daughter on the back. When he saw his daughter earlier, he suppressed his emotions.

Colin deliberately drove the car around several times. According to Jay and Aaron, somebody wanted

Jay dead now that he was getting better.

"Father, can you tell me who murdered mother? Who did those awful things to you?" Sophia couldn't

help herself. She had been yearning a long time for the truth.

Jay stopped talking and let out a deep sigh. "Sophia, you need to forget all this. It will get you killed."

"What? Father, I don't understand." Sophia stared at her father in horror. How could searching for the

truth get her killed?

Jay patted his daughter's hand and decided to swallow the truth. "Sophia, just live your best life with

Colin. I will be satisfied knowing you and your brother are healthy and happy."

...

Sophia didn't understand why her father refused to tell her the long-anticipated truth.

Later, Colin had a private meeting with Dr. Charlie. Since then, Jay's condition was getting worse and

he had frequent delirious episodes.

Since people found out about Jay's improving health, assassins were sent to kill him. Jay knew this

because Aaron inadvertently caught some people loitering outside the ward. When he suddenly woke

up one night, he found someone holding a dagger over Jay's heart.

Knowing his life was in danger alerted Jay to the gravity of the situation. For his safety, he had to

pretend to be insane.

Later that Evening.

Sophia was overcome with worry. She couldn't figure out how the truth would put her life in danger.

Colin returned from the study and found Sophia in a daze. He sat beside her and gathered her in his

arms. "I checked the surveillance video in the hospital. Some suspicious men have been loitering

around. But we couldn't identify them because they were wearing hats that obscured their faces."

Additionally, all the previous videos have disappeared. Someone had tampered with it intentionally.

Sophia looked at Colin nervously. "I'm worried about my family's safety."

"Don't worry. I'll have some professionals watch over their safety." Colin patted her shoulder in comfort.

Sophia wrapped her arms around his neck. "Thank you, Colin."

If it wasn't for Colin, she wouldn't know what to do.

"No need to thank me." Colin gave Sophia a disapproving look.

Sophia chuckled and kissed Colin, who immediately pressed her onto the bed and kissed her

passionately.

But he still had important things to tell her. He held her in his arms and said, "Sophia, we've found

some clues about the investigation."

Gasping for breath, Sophia suddenly got up and stared at him intently. "What have you found out?"

Colin gathered her in his arms again. "It's a tricky situation."

"I'm prepared for whatever news you have!" Sophia had been looking forward to any clue that could

lead to the murderer. She was anxious to hear what Colin had to say.

Colin relayed the information that Wade had reported. "There might be more than one murderer. Two,

or possibly three."

"Are you kidding me?" Sophia looked at Colin incredulously.

"Multiple perpetrators were involved." It explained why the investigation was taking so long. Moreover,

the perpetrators had complicated identities.

All the evidence had been wiped out. It took Colin considerable resources and manpower to find

credible information.

Sophia's face went pale at the news. She had to fight more than one enemy.

"What else?" She asked softly.

Colin couldn't bear to frighten her with the other news. "Don't worry. I'll be with you with through

everything you might face."

They're husband and wife, in good times and in bad.

Sophia gently shook her head and held Colin's face in her hands. "Colin, I really appreciate your help in Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org

getting the information. But the last thing I want is for you to get dragged into this mess with me."

Colin suddenly kissed her lips, biting roughly in dissatisfaction.

... Several minutes passed before Colin released Sophia, who was about to suffocate. "Sophia, you're

my wife. We'll go through thick and thin together. Do you think I'll let you uncover the truth and confront

the murderers alone?"

Impossible! Since the day they got their marriage certificate, they had been bound together.

He naively believed that he could divorce Sophia as if nothing had happened. But he was wrong.

He didn't expect to fall for a vengeful woman like Sophia. Despite the hatred that eroded her heart and

soul, his deep affection for her endured. When her life hadn't been consumed by hatred and revenge in

Z Country, she was lovely and delicate, sometimes stubborn.

These traits deeply captivated him, and he allowed himself to fall for her vengeful persona.

Not only did he not dislike Sophia's vengeful side, but he wanted her to rely on him and let him solve

her problems. He had never flinched away from her enemies, even against the most powerful and

dreadful ones.

Before he knew it, her every move affected him deeply.

Sophia was a strong poison for him, that he was willing to do anything for her.

He looked at the confused woman as he closed the distance between them. "When did you poison

me?" "What?"

His lips rubbed lightly against hers. Her eyelashes fluttered, almost touching his face.

"Huh? I never poisoned you." She denied in bewilderment.

Colin pecked her on the lips. "You did poison me. Now, I'm willing to do anything for you. Although you

annoyed me and you had many lovers before, I still like you. Tell me, Sophia. Are you poisonous?"

Initially moved to tears, Sophia flared up when Colin mentioned that she had many lovers before. She

pushed him away and retorted, "You're right. I've had so many lovers, how could I deserve to be your

wife? You should divorce me as soon as possible. Then, you can live happily with your childhood

sweetheart!"

Colin embraced her again. "If I cared about your past, why would I still want you?" Such a silly woman.

Sophia said sarcastically, "Since I've had so many lovers, do you regret not having a lot of love affairs

before?"

Colin shook his head. It honestly didn't matter to him.

Sophia bit his arm fiercely until it left a mark. "Colin, you're an asshole! Bastard!"

"What's the matter? Why are you suddenly so angry?"
