Her Fae Lovers

Twenty-Nine

Heart hammering in her chest. Lola pushed open the door to the apartment with Merrow practically glued to her side. The ride hadn’t been as fun on the way home. Her eyes and body ached.

“Can you back up a little?” She asked with a glare. Her head was throbbing, and she wanted to crawl into bed. Burrow beneath the covers and fall into a deep sleep. Maybe then her headache would be gone, or at least not nearly as bad.

“I can’t help but worry about you.” Merrow said as he stepped into the room behind Lola. He wasn’t trying to hover. It couldn’t be helped. He knew that she wasn’t feeling well by the way her shoulders had slumped, the way she had rubbed her eyes after she had parked the vehicle.

“That’s fine, you can worry, but I need some space.” Lola said dropping her bag and shoes as she moved towards her bedroom. The eerie quietness of the apartment didn’t penetrate through to her, but it did to Merrow.

“Lola, wait.”

“No, I’m tired. Merrow I’m going to bed.” Lola said with a growl as she stormed off to her room. Shaking off his hand as she went. Pushing open her door, she let out a groan at the familiar shining lights that flickered around her room like fireworks.

“Bodach stop.” Puca all but shouted. Trying to shove the other man’s hand from the box. Lola’s head started to throb worse, black spots moving over her eyes.

“What are you doing?” Lola asked, moving further into her room. She looked at the three men sitting on her bed. Bodach’s hands on the small chest her grandmother had given her. It had been her mother’s. “Bodach, stop. What are you doing?”

Her head throbbed worse and Lola couldn’t help but wonder if in all the excitement of today if it had been too much or if she had been hurt somehow.

“I can’t stop, I’ve been trying.” Bodach said through clenched teeth. Lola closed her eyes, preparing for what had happened last time a box had done that.

“Lola,” Lu said as he moved to stand, “You’re glowing.”

“It’s just the light show, it happened before.” She replied without opening her eyes.

“No, Lola. He’s right, you are glowing.” Merrow said softly and Lola opened her eyes, looking back and forth between both men.

“I think I know what the enchantment unlocks.” Puca said as he moved off of the bed to stand in front of Lola. His hands cupping her cheeks as he looked into her eyes.

“It’s fine, just leave me trapped here.” Bodach said with a growl, pulling Lola’s attention towards him and the box.

“What’s he doing?”

“He’s sucked into an enchantment and now he’s unlocking something within you.” Puca whispered as he took in the pale glow of her skin and the way her eyes shown. He leaned forward. Taking in her scent mixed with the fresh smell of the sea. “You smell of the ocean and Merrow.”

“We took a swim.” Merrow shrugged and pushed his hair out of his eyes.Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.

Lola bit her lip as Puca’s eyes moved back to hers, “Did you now?”

Nodding her head, “We did.”

“What happened?” Puca asked as he pressed his lips together in a thin line. His thumbs stroked over Lola’s cheeks.

“I’m fine,” Merrow said, stepping forward, resting his hand on Puca’s forearm as the light in the room and Lola grew brighter. “I just know what she is now.”

Puca placed his lips against Lola’s forehead before as the light show started. Lola let out a gasp as she brought her hands to his waist, clutching his body closer to her own. She closed her eyes, revealing in the sensation it was as if her heartbeat to the sound of a babbling brook.

“A korrigan, I shouldn’t have been surprised.” Puca murmured against her skin as he trailed his lips to her temple. “Such a beautiful creature, will you lure me to a watery grave?”

Sucking in a breath, she could feel the heat, low and pulsing in her core. “Puca,” Lola whimpered as she pressed herself closer against him while dragging her hands up his abdomen. Giving into the feelings that were stirring to life in her.

“Aye, you will,” he said with a chuckle as he moved his lips over her cheek and towards her ear. Making her shiver as she pulled him closer.

“I removed the enchantment.” Bodach pouted as he sat the box on the bed and crossed his arms.

“What enchantment?” Lola asked as she tilted her head to the side. A rational part of her brain was telling her that she should stop Puca as he peppered her neck with feather-soft kisses. That things were moving too fast. The other side of her felt that it wasn’t moving fast enough. That they had too many clothes.

“It’s as he said, I’m guessing that whoever laid the enchantment was probably trying to keep you safe or others.” Merrow said as he pressed his body against her back, slipping his hands around her waist.

“Why don’t we give her a moment to catch her breath, she looked unwell.” Lu said as he grabbed Lola’s hand and let out a whimper as he too was caught under her spell. “Oh, that’s what you meant.”

“Come on now, the pull to her can’t be that strong.” Bodach said, rolling his eyes as he watched Lu lift her hand to his lips. Kissing the pads of her fingers as Morrow’s hands moved along her hips. Bodach’s eyes were glued to the hands that pushed her shirt up, revealing a strip of pale skin that even without touching her he wanted to bite.

With a long sigh, hating that he would have to be the one to interrupt them. Bodach grabbed the quilt off Lola’s bed. If he broke their contact with her skin, he might be able to keep them from mauling her. It was a first feeding, though.

Standing, he shook the blanket out as he moved closer. Puca tilted his head to look at him, his teeth barred. Bodach lifted an eyebrow as he stepped closer, lifting the quilt up.

“I think it was to protect you, Lola.” He whispered.
