Her Betrayal

Braelyn’s POV

I groaned in sleep as I felt a tickle in my ear and then swatted the hand away but it didn’t go. I turned to my side hoping to get some more sleep but the fingers went to tickle everywhere causing me to burst out in laughter.

“Okay – okay , st-stop! I’m up!” I finally turned on my back and that’s when the movements stopped. I peeled my eyes open and was met with his gorgeous blue ones. The white bed sheets were covering till his waist while his naked upper body was raised by the support of his arms. He was looking down at me, flashing one his bright smile at me.

“Good morning.”

“Good morning. How long since you’re up?” I yawned sitting up.

“Two hours maybe.” He replied, twirling some strands of my hair between his fingers.

“You must be hungry.” I don’t know why a sudden and somewhat mischievous smile fell upon his lips.

“I am.” He suggestively wiggles his eyebrows. My eyes widened once I got the innuendo.

“You aren’t getting any.” I looked away blushing.

“Aww , don’t say that!” I slapped away his hand that was advancing to grab the end of his shirt that I was wearing.

“Ouch! It hurts !” He groaned in pain, turning away from me. I furrowed my eyebrows in concern as well as confusion, not realizing when I hit him so hard.

“Where?” I tucked some strands of hair behind my ears before moving closer to him. He immediately wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer.

“Down there.” I was dumbfounded at his bluntness, my face heating up.

“Oh God ! Just shut up!” I pushed him away causing him to chuckle.

“I will freshen up and make you breakfast.” As soon as I got out of bed, he held my wrist and pulled me back down.

“I will make it.” He took a quick glance at my whole face before speaking again.

“When I woke up and saw you sleeping beside me, I couldn’t just get out of bed. So I settled on looking at you.” He caressed my cheeks, staring lovingly into my eyes. Seeing so much adoration held in his gaze , I couldn’t help but feel guilty. My mind shifted back to how badly I had treated him the previous time we woke up like this. I hesitantly pulled away and sat up.

“What happened , Brae?” He asked , moving my hair behind my shoulders.

“Evan, last time … last morning when we woke up together… whatever I said wasn’t true. I -” He cut me off.

“Brae , I know.” He spoke calmly, holding my hands and squeezing them.

“Just shut up and let me say. I want to get it out.” My tone was nowhere near calm unlike him. He sighed but nodded anyway, asking to continue.

“I didn’t regret what happened between us. The only regret was that I had put myself in a situation where I again had to hurt you, your feelings. I never meant those words. I can never regret a moment spent with you.” I gulped down, feeling a lot lighter than before after the confession.

“I know. Situations forced you to say those words. I was hurt at that time, really hurt but now when I know that wasn’t true, they don’t bother me anymore. ” He passed me a smile of reassurance and I returned one.

“Now my beautiful lady, what would you like for your breakfast?” I laughed at his dramatic curtsey.

“So?” After breakfast, Evan convinced me to take the day off and he dropped me back at my place . So now I was sitting exactly in front of Bri , her eyes glistening with hope and curiosity.

“So…?” I asked in the same tone.

“Tell me what happened. Did he forgive you? Well that’s pretty clear he did considering he was smiling when he waved you off. How did he forgive you? No, how did you two make up ? Like was it a sweet makeup where he embraced you as soon as you apologized or did you two have an angry make out session to settle things? Ooh! That kind of sounds hot! So what was-” I clamped my hands over her mouth to stop her prolonged rumbling.

“God! What would you take to shut up?” She slapped my hand away.

“You know that. You can start by telling everything that happened last night ? Well, leave out the dirty deeds, I am not really in the mood for audio porn.” I rolled my eyes at her words.Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.

“So… I set everything up as planned and then when he was back uhm I apologized for everything.” I sighed, tasting the relief.

“Does that mean everything is good between you two now?” I nodded big.

“He asked me to be his girlfriend. Well I kind of made him do that.” I couldn’t help the goofy grin stretching across my lips and her face just mirrored that.

“So…what are your plans for the rest of the day?”

“Evan is taking me for lunch and uhm…” I hesitated a little.

“What is it?” She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.

“I was thinking of spending the weekend with him, I mean if you’re okay with staying alone….” I trailed off when I saw her giving me a really bored expression.

“What am I, six?” She deadpanned before a soft smile tugged at her lips. Scooting closer, she wrapped her arms around me.

“I am so happy for you.” I sighed.

“Me too. I haven’t felt so good in years.”

Evan’s POV

I watched as she wiped the corner of her mouth with the tissue before discarding it.

“I am full. I can’t have even a single bite anymore.” She sounded so convinced but I knew better than that.

“Are you sure of that?” She raised a brow in question, seeing me tilt my head in doubt. Just on cue, the waitress served the chocolate fudge cake. The way her eyes lit up was funny.

“Uhh.. since you have already ordered, maybe I can manage some space for a little dessert.” She dug in while I looked at her savouring the dessert.

“Stop staring!” She muttered with a creased eyebrow.

“Why?” I rested my face on my fist.

“You know why! I get self-conscious if someone stares at me while I eat.” She said, shoving another spoon of it inside her mouth.

“Self-conscious? Doesn’t seem like it.” She gave me the stink eye before going back to her cake.

“Whatever.” A chuckle escaped my lips.

“Come here.” Holding her wrist, I pulled her down to sit beside me on the couch before kissing her. She responded immediately, her fingers weaving through my hair.

“I can’t believe this is true.” She said once we pulled away. Sighing I wrapped my hand around her shoulder, bringing her close.

“I had lost hope that I would ever see a day like this again. It feels surreal.” I mumbled before kissing her hair.

“Evan?” She spoke after some long peaceful minutes.

“We never really talked about what you’re going to do about Kate.” I sighed. I wasn’t going to let Kate go away so easily but I didn’t want to discuss that now. I had already lost enough time with her and didn’t want to waste another second speaking of unnecessary things.

“I will take care of it. You don’t need to worry.” I said playing with her fingers.

“I want to know.” I didn’t want to involve her in this. Brae was a kind person and she wouldn’t like what I was to do to Kate.

“You don’t need to.” She looked up at me.

“Why?” I could sense the confusion in her voice. I exhaled.

“I want to make her pay.” I tucked the strands of hair behind her ears.

“Well that’s obvious. Why can’t I know what you’re planning to do?” She created some distance between us to have a proper look at my face.

“I don’t want your sympathetic self to show up and stop it.” She was silent for a second before she climbed up my lap, straddling me. I secured her by putting my arms around her waist.

“On the contrary, I would love to see her pay for everything she did.” I raised a brow in question. It wasn’t something I had expected to hear from her.

“I want to see her getting stripped of her power that she is so proud of.” There was something insanely attractive about the way her lips moved, about the bit of darkness, the determination in her voice. I caressed her lower lip with my thumb.

“Did I tell you how sexy you look staring like that?” The corner of her mouth curved up at my words. She circled her arms around my neck and leaned further in.

“No. Better yet show me.” The seductive whisper in my ears was all it took to unleash me.

“My pleasure.” I stood up with her in my arms. Letting out a surprised giggle, she wrapped her legs around my waist as I carried her all the way to the bedroom.
