Chapter 29

Chapter 29

Ashley had finally been discharged from the hospital and Jake was let off as well as he refused to be

separated from Ashley. Ashley didn't feel safe at all when Jake was not by her side, so she was

relieved that Jake got to come home with her. Katie and Roger were ecstatic that their children were

feeling going home.

They were currently on their way home. Ashley and Jake sat in the backseat with their hands

intertwined with each other as Ashley's head comfortably rested on Jake's shoulder as he rested his

own on the car seat.

Katie had glanced at the two for a moment before returning to her original place with a smile slowly

growing on her lips. It was currently night as the family was traveling, Jake noticed this root and

immediately lifted his head causing Ashley to do so as well. Soon they passed the racing grounds and

it was as if things had slowed down just in time for them to recognize Jay and Tatiana making out while

leaning up against a car. As they pulled away, Jay seemed to recognize Jay's father's car as his eyes

followed its every move with a blank expression on his face.

Ashley felt chills run down her spine as she shivered, Jake pulled her closer in his arms as he stroked

her hair. After the long journey, they had finally arrived at home as Ashley was fast asleep. Jake gently

shook her as he whispered sweetly in her ear, "Ash, you gotta get up, we're home," he said as she

began to stir in her sleep before slowly opening her eyes.

After adjusting her eyes, she turned towards Jake, who grinned at her, "Good night, sleeping beauty,"

he greeted as she rolled her eyes with a smile on her face before playfully smacking his thigh, "Your

such a dork," she said as her mother opened the door for her, while Roger did the same to Jake as he

got his crunches.

Ashley exited the car as she stared at her home with a small smile, "It's great to be back home," she

mumbled as everyone walked ahead of her, "Ashley, hurry up and get in the house," her mother said as

Ashley realized that she was the only one left behind. Jake snickered as he watched her try to keep up,

Ashley glared at him before smacking his ass which caused him flinched as she was the one to snicker,

"It's okay, Ash, you laugh right ahead," he said before leaning down towards her ear, "Let's see what

you would do if I returned the deed," he whispered before leaving her dumbfounded and flushed.

Ashley entered her room and closed the door behind her as she leaned up against it. She examined

her bedroom as if she had been missing from it for years until her gaze shifted to her bed, "My baby!"

She exclaimed before running and divining onto her bed, "Oh, how I miss you," she said as her voice

was muffled by her pillow as she patted her bed before drifting off the sleep.

Jake had also settled into his room as he sighed. He placed the crunches down before sitting on the Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

edge of his bed. He ran his good hand through his hair before pulling his shirt over his head leaving

him bareback. The vibrating sound of a phone caught Jake's attention as he reached for his phone,

answering it without being aware of who's calling.

"Hello?" He answered and as soon the person began to talk, his eyes widened, "Mom!"

The morning sun had arrived rather quickly as Ashley's slumber was suddenly interrupted by her mom,

"Ashley, Jake, come down for breakfast!" She called as Ashley groaned while stirring in sleep.

Her door suddenly opened revealing Jake, who grinned at her sleep state, "Hey, wake up, sleeping

beauty," he said as Ashley groaned again, "Come on, Ashley, you gotta get up," he said again, "I'll

meet you down there, just give me a minute," she mumbled as Jake sighed before leaving.

Jake entered the kitchen, where Roger sat reading the papers and Katie stood finishing breakfast,

"Goodmorning," he greeted catching their attention, "Goodmorning, Jake," Katie greeted back with a

warm smile that makes Jake automatically smile back, "How did you sleep?" Roger asked as Jake

turned to him, "Great, better than when I was in the hospital," he replied with a smile as Roger nodded.

As Jake sat down, he started recalling all the things that happened last night until he turned back to

face Roger, "Mom called me last night," he said as both Roger and Katie stopped what they were

doing, "Is everything okay?" Roger asked as Jake sighed, "She wants me to come back home early,"

he replied as Roger placed down his papers while Katie looked slightly over her shoulder, "Well if that's

what your mother wants then you have to fulfill her wish," Roger said as Jake looked down slightly

nodding.

"You're leaving?" Ashley suddenly asked, catching the three individuals in the kitchen. Jake turned to

face Ashley, who stood at the entrance of the kitchen with both disappointment and sadness written on

her face. Jake stared back at her with guilt in his eyes and before Katie could address Ashley's

statement the doorbell ringed.

Ashley sighed looking down before looking up at her mom, "I'll get it," she said before leaving to go

answer the door.

As Ashley opened the door there stood Anna, who looked nervous, "Hey?" Ashley greeted as Anna

shot her a nervous smile, "Hey, Ashley," she greeted as Ashley let her in. They both walked back to the

kitchen where Jake, Roger, and Katie waited for them. As they stopped by the entrance of the kitchen,

Anna hissed while looking at Jake, "Damn, you look terrible," Anna said as Jake rolled his eyes, "Thank

you, Anna but Ashley can we talk?" He asked while looking at Ashley, who avoided his stares, "Not

right now, I have someone patching up to do with someone," she said, taking Anna's hand before

leaving.

Both Anna and Ashley entered her room, "So why did you come over?" Ashley asked taking a seat on

her bed followed by Anna, "I just wanted to see how you were going, I heard you were in the hospital,"

she replied as Ashley rolled her eyes, already knowing who spread the news about her being in the

hospital, "I'm fine, just happy to be home," she said as Anna nodded before the room went silent.

"I miss you," Ashley unexpectedly said startling Anna, who quickly looked at her with a shocked

expression, "You do?" She asked in disbelief as Ashley nodded, "Wow, I thought you hated me," she

said as Ashley sighed, "I don't hate you, Anna, I just hated the decisions you made that almost cost our

friendship," she, as Anna sighed, "I thought, it was already over," she said as Ashley reached to hold

her hand, "It's not, I still consider you as my best friend, I just wished you had come to me instead of

listening to your psychotic cousin," she said as Anna laughed before it was replaced with a serious

look.

"Ashley, I have to tell you something," she said as Ashley furrows, "What is it?" Ashely asked as Anna

sighed, "Remember that I'm staying with my cousin, right?" She asked as Ashley nodded, "Well I

overheard her conversation with Jay on the phone and what I heard was shocking," she said as Ashley

began to get nervous, "What did you hear?" She asked as Anna turned to face,

"They're plotting against you and Jake."
