Chapter 42 Let’s Not Think About The Past Anymore
Hattie was stunned for a long time, not knowing what to say. After a long silence, she asked, “Where is
Jensen? Did he tell you that I was here?”
“Yeah.” Greyson let go of her, his expressions changed a little. However, he knew that nothing had
happened between Hattie and Jensen. So, he took out the letter from his pocket and handed it to her,
“He asked me to give this to you. He has gone, I don’t know where he will go.”
Hattie lowered her eyes and took the letter. She unfolded it and slowly looked at the content.
Jensen didn’t write much, but her eyes still became red.
There was both gratitude and apology.
The last sentence of the letter was, “As long as you are happy, then I am happy too. I will listen to you,
find a suitable girl and live a good life. I think you will not feel burdened anymore. However, know this, I
still love you very much.”
Hattie carefully folded the letter, put it back into the envelope and put it away.
“Why did you put it away?” Greyson was a little unhappy. Why would he want her to accept a letter
from his rival?
“I always feel sorry for Jensen.” She answered.
“What about me?” Greyson asked quickly. © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
“You?” Hattie looked at him and then quickly looked away, avoiding his gaze.
“Look at me and answer me.” Greyson cupped her face into his hands, “Do you still love me?”
Looking into his eyes, Hattie subconsciously said the thoughts she kept suppressed in her heart, “I
do…”
How can she not love him?!
She loved him so much that she was willing to give her life for him.
“That’s enough…” Greyson smiled, lowered his head and quickly kissed her on the lips, “Let’s not think
about the past anymore, okay? Hattie, let’s get married.”
Hattie’s eyes suddenly widened and she looked at him incredulously. She shook her head without
hesitation.
“Why?” Greyson was surprised to see her reaction.
“I don’t want you to marry me because you pity me.” Hattie lowered her eyes, “Besides, you will feel
burdened by the way I am, you are still… uh!”
Before she could finish her sentence, Greyson suddenly kissed her again. The kiss was fierce and
anxious, in the end he almost bit her lips.
Feeling that she could no longer bear it, Greyson let her go, but still kept hugging her. His eyes were
red, “I am telling you now, Hattie. It’s not because of pity but because of love that I want to marry you.”
“I have loved you for a long, long time. Even when there was a misunderstanding, I still loved you. The
more I loved you, the more I hated it. But now, all the misunderstandings are solved and my love for
you is even deeper.”
“Although I know that this kind of marriage proposal looks too simple and hasty, but I still want to be
with you. Don’t worry, I will heal you and then we will be together for a long time.”
“You are not a burden; you are the light of my life.”
When Hattie heard these words, her eyes turned red and tears started to fall.
“Don’t cry…” Greyson sighed and leaned forward to kiss her tears, “Don’t cry anymore, I am here.”
Hattie didn’t say anything. She slowly took his hand and held it tightly.
…
Greyson had been taking care of Hattie every step of the way, he even worked by her side.
During the time that he was away, the Morgan family changed a lot. Finnley realized that he really did
anything wrong, so he actually took initiative to retreat from his position and start his retirement life.
Thus, Greyson became in charge of the Morgan group.
Potter group originally wanted to attack Morgan group because he ran away from the wedding, but
endured it in the face of Rowan’s pleading, with the condition that they will never work with Morgan
group again.
Rowan also sent him a long message saying that she really fell in love with him during that time and if
there was a possibility, she was willing to wait for him.
Greyson explicitly rejected her and blocked her number.
Greyson asked Finnley once about the antidote to the poison, but Finnley said that at that time he only
wanted the poison and that the man didn’t give him any antidote. Then, that man disappeared
unexpectedly and didn’t leave his contact details, so they were on their own to find an antidote.
Greyson used all of his connections to start searching for that person globally and also discussed with
the hospital to find an antidote.
If there was a poison then there must be an antidote for it.
He firmly believed it.
Because the misunderstanding between him and Hattie was now solved, she also felt like she wanted
to live. Thus, she cooperated with the treatment more actively, which made the doctors and nurses
relax a little.
As long as there was a desire to live, it was a bit easier to handle.
Greyson and Hattie seemed like Siamese twins, they were constantly stuck to each other almost all the
time and their relationship was getting better and better. Slowly, Hattie was also able to trust again that
he was going to stay by her side and he also did not hate her body and the way she looked anymore.
Even if she died in his arms like this, it was worth it…
