Chapter 140 Mr. President and His Wife Visiting the Company

Monday was a day that office workers resented. When the modest yet luxury Maybach parked at the

gate of the DK building, the receptionists recognized it was Mr. President Murphy’s car so they

immediately pulled themselves up, even the securities also stood straight up.

Kenny got out of the car first, walked in front of the car and opened the door for Poppy. He walked into

the building with Poppy, holding her hand intimately.

Receptionist A spotted Poppy and talked to receptionist B, “Shocking news. Look, Mr. President

Murphy brings a woman to the company.”

“What?” receptionist B immediately looked up with her eyes widened. She said in a low voice, “She

looks so familiar.”

“The law...lawyer who has been on the TV.”

“She’s so beautiful.”

“And nice dressing.”

The two receptionists gossiped in a low voice with eyes fixing on them entering the building.

It was quite different when Kenny looked at Poppy. It was so tender that many girls would fall for it. The

two stood together wearing professional attires of the same color. The delicate attire outlined the

perfect figure of Poppy with her beautiful legs uncovered. She was in such a perfect shape that even

women were envious of her. She was a perfect match to the successful Kenny. Everyone else was left

with jealousy.

All the staff passing by were stunt to find their president bringing his girlfriend to the company openly.

That was really cruel of him to show off their love publicly. Didn’t he know that many male employees

were still single under his “tyranny”?

When they walked into the elevator, receptionist A was still astonished, “This is the first time i have

seen president being so tender. Oh, i fall in love with that tender look.”

Receptionist B snickered her deliberately, “Stop daydreaming. Look at that prominent woman. You

don’t have a chance.”

“I know myself, Okay? I’m just shocked at president’s behavior today. He has been away for half a

month. Has he been on honeymoon with his wife-to-be?”

Receptionist B shrugged and shook her head, handing over a pile of documents to receptionist A, “I’m

not sure where president and his wife-to-be have been. But I’m pretty sure that we are not going home

until we finish filing these documents today.”

“Phew! Why are there so many documents unsorted?” receptionist A was soon brought back to reality

with sorrow.

Kenny had led Poppy to his office. It was her first time here. The office was decorated using the stable

color scheme of coffee with distinct and straight lines, which reflected his personality. It was divided into

the visitor area and the administrative area. On the right of the french window, it was his office table,

which was against the wall fully decorated with a magnificent painting of mountains and rivers. On each

side of the painting, there were two bookshelves filled with books, most of which were about finance

and economics. Next to the bookshelf was a medal frame decoration which attracted Poppy to place

her hand on it. As soon as she touched it, it opened and turned out to be something like a bedroom

with a large bed in it.

Kenny held her from the back and asked, “Wanna check it out?”

Poppy thought it was not a bad idea. She entered the room and found it to be more than just a

bedroom. Besides a large bed, there was a wine cabinet, a bar counter , a treadmill, and even a

separate cloak room. Poppy was amazed, “You’ve got everything here. Why bother to go home?”

Kenny put his head on Poppy’s shoulder, “Sometimes, I work late and I’m tired, so i just sleep here,” he

said while leading Poppy to his bed, “With the bed here, how about we having our wedding night here?”

Poppy turned around and looked at him, “So that’s why you show me in here. Kenny Murphy, what are

you thinking everyday? Are you really in charge of the company? I sincerely doubt it.”

“Absolutely! I’m just so tempted by you, little thing,” Kenny said and sniffed on Poppy.

“Stop it! Isn’t it supposed to be more romantic for our first night? How come in your office?” Poppy

looked at him appreciating his face. Though with some minor scratches on it, it was still pretty showing

more masculinity.

“Well, then let’s talk about business.” Kenny dropped his tricks and walked out of the room with Poppy.

“What is it?” Poppy was confused.

Kenny took her to the sofa and sat down, “Remember my invitation before? It’s still valid. I’ve given you

enough time to think about it. So, may i have the honor to invite you to join our group as the legal

counselor?”

Poppy tittered, “Is that all you wanna ask me?”

“So yes or no?” Kenny asked with expectations.

Since they were back from Canada, their feelings for each other had become stronger. Poppy was

once quite indifferent and it was all due to Kenny’s efforts that they were so close to each other now.

Poppy thought carefully and said, “I can be your legal counselor under conditions.”

Kenny was relieved, “Sure, what are the conditions?”

“I can only take a temporary post here. But I will come anytime if you need anything on legal

consulting.” She didn’t want to limit her work only in his Group.

“No problem.”

When Kenny was about to continue flirting with Poppy, someone knocked on the door, “Knock, knock,

knock.” Leaning towards Poppy, Kenny felt irritated at the knock. Poppy simply pushed him away and

said with a snigger, “Someone’s at the door.”

“Come in.” Kenny stared at her and shouted towards the door.

It was his assistant Aaron who just came to remind him of the meeting, “Mr. Murphy, it’s time for the

meeting.”

It had been 10 minutes later than the scheduled time and all the upper echelons had been waiting in

the meeting room.

Kenny glanced at his watch. And Poppy urged him, “Go get on your business. I don’t want to be

accused of being a dangerous beauty.”

Kenny stood up and said on a second thought, “Would you like to wander around by yourself or should NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.

i arrange someone to show you around?” In order to claim publicly that she was back, she ought to

show her appearance in front of everyone.

Poppy thought for a second and said close to his ears, “Now that I’m back, I should be behaving like

the boss’s wife. I would like someone to show me around.”

Kenny rubbed her nose and said with love and affection, “Naughty girl.” Then, he turned to Aaron and

demanded seriously, “Send Simon in to show my wife around.”

“Yes, Mr. Murphy!”

After Aaron left, Kenny put his face towards Poppy, “Mrs. Murphy, shouldn’t i get a kiss as a reward?”

Poppy kissed him on his face as he wished. It was a simple kiss which made Kenny so contented that

he walked out of the office with a sweet smile.

Simon arrived at the office and asked respectfully, “Ms Poppy Green, which department would you like

to visit first?”

Poppy thought for a moment and said, “I’ll leave it to you.”

They started from the human resource department on the 12th floor. Simon explained with great

patience so that Poppy could learn more about Dakings Group, “The organization chart of Dakings

Group is pretty complicated with core businesses in industries of commerce, real estate, culture,

finance and ...”

“So it involves all kinds of industries?”

Simon nodded, “Yes. Mr. Murphy, the president is our top leader. All departments are managed in a

pretty explicit and detailed way.” He opened the door of the public relations department for Poppy and

continued, “It’s all due to Mr. Murphy’s efficient management that Dakings Group has branch offices all

over China as well as the world dealing with businesses ....”

Simon might be flattering Mr. Murphy but he did give Poppy a detailed introduction which helped her

understand the overall of Dakings Group in a short time.

In the public relations department, several female employees gathering together were gossiping in front

of a computer desk without notice of Simon and Poppy Green.

“Let me tell you. That woman wears branded products from head to toe besides her Prada professional

suit and Hermes bag.”

Another one replied with jealousy, “I guess Mr. Murphy paid for those branded products. Otherwise, she

can’t afford them no matter how successful she is.”

“Have you seen her face? It’s so perfect that i can’t help wondering if she has had plastic surgery.”

“I saw it today. She’s really pretty. No wonder Mr. Murphy is obsessed with her.”

It’s natural to gossip when women gathered together. But it was their fault to gossip Poppy when she

was there.

Simon frowned with a long face.

Poppy looked indifferently with sharp eyes, which made people scared. She didn’t knock on the door

and walked directly into the room, “Why not ask me in person since you are so interested in me?”

The room in chaos a few minutes ago was now silent with a flock of women eye-contacting each other

with scare. Oh, God, please make it not her! Damn it! Speaking of the devil. They stood there stiff

turning around slowly and were stunt to find it was really her, “Ms... Ms. Poppy Green. Sorry, we should

not be talking about...”

Poppy looked cold and serious, “Neglecting duties and gossiping at work. Simon, how to deal with it?”

Everyone was scared that they were not getting away with it.

Simon replied to Poppy’s demand immediately, “Sorry, Ms Poppy Green. I will write down their names

and give them punishment according to the regulations.”

Those gossip women were now regretful. It was not only about being docked on pay. They might lose

their jobs. One of them ran up to Poppy pleading, “Sorry, Ms Poppy Green. We shouldn’t be gossiping

behind... behind you. Please give us another chance. We won’t do it again.”

Poppy didn’t show any mercy and looked at her seriously, “Another chance? You were not born

yesterday. The fittest survives. If you die today, do you think you will have another chance to live

again?”

“Simon, stick to the rules.” Poppy demanded and left the public relations department.

Those who had been excited about the gossip were all gloomy now. They couldn’t be more regretful.

They were so dead!
