Got On His Love Pirate Ship

Chapter 15 Blood Roses

I broke ties with my family, lost my job, but felt renewed, realizing how beautiful life could be.

Because I had a man who treated me sincerely, just like a father.

Jamie and I discussed our plans. He helped me find a position in his company, and we would work together. Once we saved enough money, we planned to return to his hometown.

For a while, Jamie took me to the cinema, coffee shops, and an amusement park…

We fed each other popcorn in the dark cinema;© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

We silently gazed at each other in a quiet coffee shop;

We screamed enthusiastically like two children in the amusement park.

These ordinary things for a couple were places I had never been before.

It was a brief yet shining chapter in my life.

After lifting my spirits, I also received good news brought by Jamie. He told me to attend an interview at his company next weekend.

On the evening before the interview, we went hand in hand to the mall to buy professional attire.

Jamie said the most attractive moment for him was when I was confident.

On the way home, passing by a flower shop, Jamie bought 99 red roses.

He remembered all my preferences.

The next day, I went confidently to Jamie’s company for the interview.

Although it was just a receptionist position, I was already very happy.

The interviewer smiled and nodded when he saw me, asked me a few questions, and it was clear he was satisfied with me.

I thought everything was going smoothly until he received a phone call.

After hanging up, the interviewer’s gaze became subtle.

That kind of look made me uncomfortable; I was too familiar with the way men looked at me.

He told me to go home and wait for the news.

I vaguely felt uneasy.

When I received the expected call that I failed the interview, Jamie comforted me, saying it was okay, and he would help me find another job.

But I knew it was Mr. Galer’s doing; only he had that authority.

Before going to sleep, I received a text message from an unknown number.

“Tomorrow night, at the Harmony Hotel, Room 307.”

Looking at the man sleeping peacefully beside me, I adjusted the blanket for him.

He had been tired lately, taking on a part-time job after work.

I deleted the message, not wanting it to trouble Jamie.

Only I knew how hard-won my current life was.
