Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right

Chapter 653

The disposal of Peter was so efficient that Debra had almost been caught.

Lara whispered, "But how did you know Peter would be thrown into the ocean? What if Mr. Lowe had spared his life?"

Debra explained, "A useless man like that? There's no way. Drake never lets anyone touch his prey."

"I see." Lara nodded.

Debra looked down at the phone in her hand. With Peter gone, no one would pay attention to his phone. And more importantly, this phone likely contained crucial evidence of Drake's crimes.

If she could get this phone off the ship, it would be a critical piece of leverage to take him down.

Meanwhile, at the bustling docks of Seamar City, Randy and Marion waited impatiently, their men scattered strategically throughout the area.

"Something's off," Randy muttered, eyes scanning the horizon. "Drake's ship should've been here by now. But there's no sign of it."

Marion frowned. "What about the tracker?"

"It went dead hours ago. Drake probably turned off his phone, shutting down all GPS signals."

Marion's face tightened in frustration. Just then, his phone buzzed. Wearily, he glanced at the screen, but what he saw brought an unexpected spark of hope.

"It's from Debra," he announced, his tone brightening instantly.

"What?" Randy spun around, his face a mix of shock and curiosity.

Marion held up his phone, showing the message. Though it came from an unknown number, the text left no doubt.

[Drake isn't following the original plan. He's not docking at the coast. He might be heading toward Flesta.]

The mention of Flesta rattled Marion.

Randy swallowed nervously. "Flesta?"

Flesta was Edgar's turf, and Drake wouldn't head there without reason.

"No," Marion muttered. "It's not Flesta. He's going to Orkgate."

Orkgate was Drake's stronghold, a place no one came back from unscathed. Randy was worried. "You can't go there. I'll talk to Andrew and..."

"I have to go alone," Marion insisted.

"That

a criminal," Randy reasoned.

If Marion went there alone, he couldn't escape Drake's eyes and ears.

"I'm not letting him hurt her," Marion growled, determination flashing in his eyes.Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.

Randy had seen this look before. If something happened to Debra,

Marion would destroy everything

his path. No one, not even am entire city, could stop him.

As the sun began to set, Debra gazed out the small window of her room. The shoreline was visible, but it wasn't Seamar City. It seemed to be Flesta.

If they reached Orkgate from there, she knew her chances of escaping would be slim. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Thinking it was Lara, she said, "Come in." The one coming in was a nurse, and Debra's eyes narrowed in suspicion.

But it wasn't Lara. A nurse stepped inside, carrying a small jar of ointment.
