Chapter 5
Third-person Narrative.
Mia and her parents were getting all the things they had prepared for Jasmine’s birthday ready.
Even though Jasmine had told Mia that she wouldn’t do anything for her birthday, Mia has gone ahead to arrange a surprise party for Jasmine. and had also invited a few friends from school.
That was the main reason she forced Jasmine to go home with her. There was no way she was going to let Jasmine skip celebrating her eighteenth birthday.
They had woken up early that morning to get everything ready. Mia’s brothers hadn’t helped in any way.
They were just lazing around, sitting on the couch, placing their legs on the table, and grumbling whenever the need arose.
“Aren’t you guys going to help?” Mia asked them again.
“We already told you. We don’t care about your friend’s stupid birthday, so we don’t see how this is our problem.” Calix explained, shrugging.
“Don’t say that, Calix. You’ve been friends with Jasmine your whole life; you could at least be nice enough to help out a little.” Their mother, Gina, was putting the final touch on the cake she had made the previous night.
“We’re not friends with her, Mom; Mia’s her friend. We can’t be friends with that annoying girl who does act like she owns the world.” Zane said it grudgingly.
“Be mindful of your words. Even if you don’t want to be friends with her, you should respect her. Those are the qualities of a gentleman,” Denver, who had just walked in to hear what Zane said, scolded.
“They’re the farthest things from gentlemen,” Mia said quietly to her mom, and they laughed.
“It looks like we’re done here,” Mia said, stepping back as she scanned the room, studying everything they had put in place.
“Maya!” Gina called a maid. “Go get Jasmine. Just tell her to come down for breakfast. Make sure she doesn’t suspect anything.” She finished, and the maid nodded and was about to leave when Ethan spoke.
“Wait.” He called the maid. “Since you said we didn’t help prepare anything, we’ll go wake her up,” he said, mischief lurking within his eyes.
His brothers stood up from the couch and asked to accompany him to go get Jasmine.
“Really?” Mia asked, confused.
She could tell that her brothers were up to no good, but her suspicions were quickly dismissed by her mother, who thought it was nice of the boys to finally help out.
“Yeah. Let’s go.” He said this to his brothers, and they made their way up the stairs.
They exchanged looks amongst themselves and smiled, their eyes communicating with one another.
They got to the front of her room, and they pushed the door open, the door knob slamming into the table behind it, and then they slammed it shut.
Jasmine was sprawled out on her bed, sleeping the day away, the duvet half on her.
They looked down at her for a while, watching her sleep and being a little mesmerized by how beautiful and peaceful she looked when sleeping.
Her red hair was a knotted mess and was all over her face, and the satin night dress she had on gave her body that desirable feel, especially with her two n*****s poking through her nightwear.
“She is really beautiful when asleep,” Calix communicated with his brothers through the mind link.
“Yeah, but a bundle of trouble the moment she opens those pretty eyes,” Ethan added.
“Do you guys think we should do this? I mean, it’s her eighteenth birthday; won’t she be mad if she finds out that we ruined it for her,” Zane questioned.
She ruined our seventh-year birthday, so let’s consider this a payback, Ethan said, and his brothers agreed and decided to wake her up.
“Wake up!!” Zane shouted.Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.
He moved to the end of her bed and tapped her feet harshly, while Calix screamed her name.
Jasmine jumped up, the combination of the tapping and the shouting jerking her awake.
“What the hell?” She said this as she placed her hands over her eyes, rubbing them, before looking up at them with a scrunched-up face.
When she finally realized who it was that was in her room, she pulled the duvet over her body, covering herself up.
After realizing she was wearing only her nightwear, she felt embarrassed.
“What are you all doing here?” She asked with a frown on her face.
“Well, we were asked to come to wake you up. Besides, why the hell are you covering up? You’re not our type. We don’t do arrogant rogues.” Calix said, and they all burst out laughing.
Jasmine watched them with anger in her heart. She knew they had come upstairs with the main purpose of annoying her so early in the morning.
They didn’t even have the decency to wish her a happy birthday. She just shook her head and decided not to respond to them.
“But there’s one thing I’m certain about.” Ethan started moving closer to her. “No matter how strong-headed you claim to be, I’m sure, it is just a matter of time before you beg us to have you, that’s for sure.” He said it with a smug look on his face.
“And why the hell would I do that?” She asked, confused.
“Don’t think we haven’t caught you checking us out. We know you have fantasies about us, and soon we will be fulfilling all your little naughty wishes,” Zane said.
His words made Jasmine choke on her saliva.
“What?!! When did that ever happen?” She asked, trying to act like she knew nothing about what they were saying.
But the truth was, she had always felt that the three mice were very cute when they were not on a mission to annoy her.
But as the years went by, she realized that being annoying was always going to be part of them.
“You know you’re guilty; there’s no need to pretend; we know you would want us to k**s those sexy lips of yours while you m**n our names,” Calix smirked flirtatiously.
“I have never and will never do that.” She said this in her defense.
“Yeah, keep telling yourself that,” Ethan said, and they laughed.
“Get out!! I don’t know why you three came up here.” She told them.
“We came to wake you up, as you can see, and also to tell you that they have prepared a surprise party downstairs for you. So get your a*s up and come downstairs. It’s getting annoying, pretending to care, and we are f*****g starving.” Calix said, and Jasmine gasped in surprise.
God!
She couldn’t believe how mean those monsters were; they just ruined her surprise birthday party, which would have been cool if those mean mice had not just told her about it.
They slammed the door behind them as they left. Jasmine glared at the door from which they had left before sighing and pulling herself up from her bed.
Now that she knows about it, it made her very sad.
She had made it clear to Mia that she wasn’t interested in celebrating her birthday, but she did not listen, and it annoyed Jasmine that she had to pretend to be okay with it because she knew Mia’s parents were obviously in on it.
She quickly brushed her teeth and changed her clothes before leaving her room. She wasn’t sure if she should pretend to be surprised or just tell them that The brothers spoiled the surprise.
She made up her mind to go with the latter because she wanted the brothers to be in trouble with their parents.
She made her way down the stairs, but as she got closer to the ground floor, a strange smell met her nose. It smelled like lavender, pinewood, and citrus all at once.
Jasmine frowned, confused, and wondered what the smell could be, but she ignored it because it was faint, feeling it was probably coming from something that was downstairs.
She finally got to the bottom of the stairs and braced herself for the shouts.
“Surprise!!!” Everyone screamed, apart from the brothers, of course.
She smiled at them as Mia rushed over to her with her cake in her hands.
“Blow out the candles,” Mia said, excitedly to Jasmine.
Jasmine did as told before Mia ran to give her the wrapped gift she had gotten her.
Mia’s parents took time to congratulate her as they all handed her a present, after which Gina invited everyone to the dining room.
“Happy birthday, Jasmine. I hope you liked your surprise; I bet you didn’t see it coming,” Mia said confidently.
“Thank you, Mia. And I would have been truly surprised if your brothers had not already given me a heads up on what you were planning.” Jasmine said with a wicked grin on her face, and Mia gasped, turning to her brothers to give them an earful.
Just then, the scent from earlier returned, but this time it was much stronger.
That was when realization dawned on Jasmine.
Her heart rate began to pick up. She wasn’t sure why that would happen in Mia’s house, of all places.
She wasn’t sure if she was ready for what was about to happen. Her eyes curiously checked around the sitting room, looking to find where the scent was coming from.
