Game Over No Second Chances

Chapter 387

Serena ended up staying for lunch.

After the meal, Howard and Rachel left to visit the Larsons.

Serena stood up, ready to leave too. However, a mocking laugh rang out behind her.

"You acted all carefree-watching the sunrise and pretending you had the appetite to eat. But deep down, you're panicking, aren't you?"

Sarah leaned back smugly on the couch, a mocking smile on her face.

"I'm about to marry into the Larson family too. I can give Cole children to carry on the bloodline, maybe even a son who'll become the next heir. But Serena, you're stuck with Hugh, a man who probably can't even have kids. Once he's dead, what will you have left? When that day comes, let's see if you're still so carefree, throwing fits in front of Dad."

Serena turned and looked at her.

"Do you think everyone's like you, always begging with your hand out? You spent all those years living off the Jansen Group, always demanding from dad without contributing a thing. You're nothing but a parasite. And now you think marrying into the Larson family will suddenly make you valuable?"

Sarah shot up, furious.

"You're no better than me! You were raised by Dad too! You used the Jansen Group's resources just like I did! If you weren't the heiress of the Jansen family, you wouldn't have even landed a business marriage with Hugh! We're both the same. So what gives you the right to say that about me?"

Serena didn't get angry. Instead, she laughed.

"I brought Amber Group back to life, and I own a share of Zarena Group. Even without Hugh, I'm still someone who can stand on my own in the business world. I don't live off men or Dad."

As she spoke, she walked toward Sarah step by step. She used the height her heels gave her to tower over Sarah, looking down at her with cold disdain.

"And do you really think marrying Cole means your life will be smooth sailing?"

Sarah was suffocating under Serena's crushing presence. Serena's achievements were indeed irreplaceable.

But Sarah wasn't ready to admit defeat. She straightened her neck and forced a triumphant smile.

"So what if it's not smooth? I'll still

it's not

be Cole's wife, the wife of the future heir of Larson Group! When that happens, it won't matter if Calvin hates me, or if Melissa criticizes me. I can deal with them however I want. That includes you, Serena! When Hugh falls from power, the Larson family will become your grave!" noveldrama

The two locked eyes, the air thick with tension.

Serena looked at the wild ambition festering in Sarah's eyes. She couldn't help but find it ridiculous.

The Larson family was a den of wolves. Everyone else kept their distance, but Sarah stupidly ran straight toward it.

Serena didn't bother wasting another word. She turned and walked toward the door.

"Enjoy your moment while you can."

Sarah thought she was fleeing. She burst into loud, mocking laughter.

"That's right, Serena! You're just jealous of me..."

The door slammed open suddenly.

Howard and Rachel were thrown back inside by four tall bodyguards. The gifts they had brought were tossed onto the floor at the entrance.

The lead bodyguard said coldly, "The Larsons won't meet with you. They refuse your gifts. If you have anything to say, pass the message through someone else. If you dare disturb them again, as per Mrs.

Larson's instructions, we'll seal your door."

Howard and Rachel were too scared to say a word, their faces stiff with fear.

Sarah rushed over in shock.

"Melissa has gone too far! Dad, Mom, you..."

"You're too naive," Serena said as she passed them.

She calmly glanced at the scattered mess at the entrance before turning back at

Sarah, whose eyes were trembling with fear.

"Stop dreaming about your bright future. You'd better start praying you can survive even a little longer while under Melissa's hand."
