Chapter 15 Problems Encountered
Chapter 15 Problems Encountered
Sadie narrowed her eyes and stared at the phone that Khalid was holding in his hand.
There was a breeze, ruffling the hair she used to cover the left side of her face, revealing the big, ugly
scar.
For a good while, she pursed her lips and turned around indifferently. "I have nothing to say to him.
Next Monday, I will pay back the money."
She ran away without looking back, faster and faster, and in the blink of an eye, she was no longer in
the crowd.
Khalid stood there, ended the call. He shook his head and sighed.
Was Master Julian too much, making her so angry? But they can't be blamed as the guy in the
Newman family was not yet in control of the full power. The free cash flow in hand was used to collect
luxury cars, so there was no way to take out that much money at once.
Even if it weren't for them, the money would have been recovered eventually.
Embezzling public funds was not a joke, and besides, the guy of the Newman family was in Paris with
his mistress, how come he could treat Sadie as his girlfriend.
Back to the entrance of the bank, the two managers were warm and courteous in sending out Julian.
Khalid nodded at him, went over to open the door, and waited for him to get into the car before getting
in the front seat.
"Is she angry and sad?" Julian pursed his lips. "Wait until I tell you when the wedding is. Also, call the
hospital and ask the dean to talk to her personally."
Unless a top international medical team took over the treatment, Dean Esme won't survive more than
three months for her current illness.
She was so filial, so she would definitely choose to agree to his conditions without hesitation.
"Understood," Khalid responded and immediately took out his cell phone to call the dean.
Julian leaned back on the chair, raised his hand, and pressed his eyebrows, the temperature under his
eyes faded a little.
Otto Newman was so generous to her, what was it for?
Raising his eyebrows, he picked up the Pad and casually asked, "I asked you to look into that kid from
the Newman family, have you made any progress yet?"
"Not yet, but he's a bit related to the one from the Read family." Khalid took out his Pad, flipped out the
information inside, and handed it over sideways. "The year the cruise ship caught fire, he spent the
summer at Read's family house."
Julian took over his Pad, looked down for a moment, and returned it irritably. "Keep checking. I heard
that the Read family intends to withdraw their business from City A business and move it here, so pay
more attention."
Khalid nodded and carefully put his Pad away.
Julian leaned against the back of the chair again, his long, clean fingers falling onto the Pad's screen,
the corner of his lips pursed unconsciously.
How did the scar on the guy's face get there? Was it a burn or a scald?
Thinking of this, he put down the Pad and spoke without any hesitation. "Ted, go back to the hospital, I
want to talk to Doctor Rees personally."
"Okay," Ted responded with a smile.
Khalid saw that Julian looked suspicious. He opened his mouth but finally said nothing.
Julian's ease and elegance would all collapse as soon as he met Lady Sadie. This was no secret long
ago.
…
The VIP ward on the 23rd floor of the Health Hospital.
Sadie was weakly lying in front of the hospital bed, staring at her cell phone screen.
She called Otto, who explained the situation, saying, in a very self-conscious manner, that he had
booked a flight for tomorrow night and would arrive in City B on Monday morning at the latest.
He also said that he would have his assistant take care of it promptly and would never let Sadie and
her mother be kicked out of the hospital.
What should she say? Nothing was right to say.
She was really embarrassed at the bank and was very pathetic, especially when compared to the pride
she had before going there.
It was not that Sadie cared about letting Julian make a joke of her but was because she suddenly
realized that she could never rely on others, and only herself was the most reliable.
But this time, she had calmed down.
Otto was not obliged to help her, not to mention such a large sum of money. Therefore, she had
nothing to complain about, nor should she have any resentment.
When she exhaled, she heard a knock on the door and turned back to see it was the nurse. She then
went out slowly. "What's wrong, is there a change in my mother's condition?"
"The attending doctor and the dean have asked you to go over." The nurse told her the reason for her
visit and couldn't help but comfort her, "It may or may not be good news, don't worry too much."
Sadie thanked her and closed the door, walking with her to the dean's office.
The dean was in her 40s, wearing golden bezel glasses, and had a very regular face. She had met the
attending doctor many times and was relatively familiar with him, so she sat down quietly after greeting
him. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
At first, Sadie chose Health Hospital because of her confidence in their medical standard. But when
she heard that a deposit of at least three million yuan was required to completely control the tumour in
her mother's body, she turned pale.
"Aren't there any other treatment available?" She asked weakly and turned her head to look at Doctor
Rees.
Doctor Rees shook his head and carefully explained to her the specific treatment for this disease.
"I'll think about it." Sadie unconsciously clenched her fists. She then quickly calculated in her head how
much she could fork out.
The check given by Julian did have an additional note that it could only be spent on her. But when she
took part of it to pay for her mother's medical bills, the rest of the money was frozen. Therefore, she
couldn't withdraw the cash and could only swipe the POSS machine.
The bank's customer service also told her that if she was found to have spent the money on someone
else again, the donor had the right to demand her full restitution.
She did not understand the relevant laws and did not have time to verify. But in her heart, she hated
Julian.
He knew she was short of money and gave it to her but didn't let her spend it, which was merely
perverted.
"You can always contact me anytime when you finish thinking about it." Doctor Rees cleared his throat,
and on the pretext that he still had to go for rounds, indicated that she should go back first.
Sadie smiled gratefully at him and left feeling lost.
Her mother was still not awake. She didn't know how to choose, lack of money was the main reason,
but another was that she didn't dare to talk to Otto again.
At around 7 o'clock, Raya Duncan came to visit. Sadie felt a little tired and went back to the orphanage
herself without waiting for her.
She woke up after a muddled sleep, remembered that it was Saturday, and got up excitedly.
Talia Burns said someone would pick her up at 9 o'clock. She specifically instructed her not to wear
makeup, nor to bring her cheap cosmetics, so she didn't have to prepare anything.
When Sadie went to brush her teeth, she looked at herself in the mirror and thought of Otto for no
reason at all.
He would marry her, right?
The next thought was that she was not even 20 years old, and she couldn't even get a marriage
certificate. He couldn't even marry her even if he wanted to, so she laughed at herself for being too
anxious.
After cleaned and dressed up, Libby Webb was still asleep, so she went out quietly.
At 9 o'clock sharp, Talia called on time, but instead of telling her how to get to the set, she was
informed that the wedding was canceled, so she had to wait for the call.
