Enough For Him

When I started to wash her arms and legs I heard the sound of the door opening and slamming shut, Leon had finally arrived. Fran wiggled in my arms. “I know baby, we will go see daddy soon” I said running my finger over her cheeks.

I honestly think after Fran I am done with having kids. It seems to be that every time I finish the baby stage I get pregnant and have to do it all over again.

I managed to finish bathing her and put her in her Pyjamas. I quickly changed into a vest top and shorts and carried the little one downstairs. Jean waited at the bottom. “give me one second, think she wants to see her father” jean nodded in understanding and left to go to the kitchen.

Jean is my actual angel; I don’t think I would be able to cope without her. She stays here most nights. It’s not like I sleep all night peacefully when the babies start to cry and leave it to her. But she is just there when I needed that extra help.

I walked into the lounge to see Leon sat on his knees in front of Jayson. My hand flew to my mouth when I saw Jay sobbing into his fathers chest.

Fran locked eyes onto her big brother and I knew what was coming next. She actually hated to see him cry.

Leon rubbed Jayson’s back. “it’s just a little test buddy, it’s not the end of the world”

“but ”

Leon pulled away “no buts Jay, it’s my fault for not being a good dad I should have helped you when you needed I’m sorry” I grinned, it’s like he knew that I was going to scold him.

Maybe he saw this coming.

Something tells me he had an inside source. Kaleb must have given him the heads up. Jayson is eldest of all the kids and we all look out for him knowing the pressure he has.

Jayson continued to cry into his dad’s chest. Scarlett walked out the kitchen with jean following her, she had a cup of what I assume was hot chocolate.

“I’m not working evenings this week so after school we will go through all the areas that you are struggling with. I promise not to be too hard on you alright” Jay nodded as he wiped away some of his tears.

Scarlett and Jayson sat down and enjoyed their hot chocolates. Leon slowly rose up from the floor and came over.

“Hey Princess” He said to his baby girl. I moved her into his arms letting them have their sweet moment. It can’t be easy to leave your kids for a week especially Francesca.

“time for bed you two. Go get ready and brush your teeth” They ran with their cups and put them in the sink before racing up the stairs.

I saw jean smiling as they disappeared.

“you look exhausted honey” she came over handing me a mug. I smelt the aroma of coffee and I took a sip.

I sighed resting my feet on the sofa as I sat down, “I am”

Jean abruptly stood up when Leon walked into the lounge, I guess he put Fran into her bed. “I’ll go make sure the kids are ready” I sent her a thankful smile as she went upstairs leaving me and my husband.

Leon loosened his tie and knelt before me. he placed his hands on my legs pressing his thumbs into my muscles.

“Hey beautiful” he said his eyes boring into mine. Once I placed my mug on the table besides me Leon reached to grab my hips and bring me closer.

Once I was at the edge of the sofa. He lifted me as he stood up with me wrapped around his waist.

“how was Germany” I asked him as he turned around and sat on the sofa with me in his lap.

“the same. Meetings after meetings I’m just glad to finally be home” I could see the tiredness in his eyes.

“and you thought coming home would give you a break, do I need to remind you that we have three children who all carry your genetics” I said with sass. He grinned at me. “is this where you tell me you want to stop having kids, or were you waiting for the morning” I smacked him on the chest for being cocky.

“Don’t you feel sorry for my poor body, I haven’t been able to get back to my original size since Scarlett” there has been countless times where he has caught me staring at myself in the mirror.

He will always tell me I look beautiful and still sexy with all the imperfections and curves, but I just don’t feel good in my own skin.

He brought his hand to my neck rubbing the skin there. “of course, I feel sorry for you Liz, I’m more than happy with our three kids. I want you to happy, I don’t like seeing you so stressed” he ran his fingers through my hair massaging my head.

I moaned as he did this. I slowly leaned in and kissed him lightly on the lips. I just waited for him to tug on my hair and bring me closer. Which he did.

“we don’t have time” Leon was the one moaning this time as I moved my hips. He wasn’t normally the one to try and stop me, it was normally the other way around.

“try and stop me” I whispered into his ear as I moved my hands to his pants. I unbuckled his belt and watched with a smirk as he closed his eyes.

I crawled off his lap and knelt down before him. Oh, how the roles have reversed.

“I hope you haven’t been flirting with single German women over there” I said as I stroked him. He practically growled.

“I can’t help it if I’m so incredibly handsome Liz” I slapped his thigh.” But no, I didn’t flirt, god damn” he moaned as I finally gave him what he wanted. Probably been dreaming about this all week.

I always enjoyed bringing immense pleasure to Leon. Nothing brings me more pleasure than pleasing my husband. The man I have loved for over 10 years, the man who has given me three beautiful children.

Leon was breathing heavily “you’re incredible did you know that” I’ve only heard that a handful of times.

My mother instincts kicked in.

Leon stood up. He brought his hand out to reach for mine.

“come on mommy, back to work. He said as my fingers slide in between his own. He pulled me up and kissed me lightly on the head.

Once we arrived in the room we saw Scarlett cradling her foot on the bed as Jayson rushed to her side. He tried his best to calm her down and she started to cry.

Leon rushed over checking for signs of any blood or bruises.

“daddy it hurts” she said in between her small cries.

He pushed the blanket away from her foot. “I know baby girl but you need to let me see it so I can decide if we need to amputate it.

“Leonardo!” I shouted at him appalled that he would even make a joke like that. But instead of Scarlett looking terrified she burst out laughing along with Leon and Jay. It was just

“cheer up mom it was just a joke” Jayson said walking over to me.

I glared at Leon. I gave him one look that he hated the one that spoke volumes as he had seen this look countless times.

“yikes dad, she’s giving you that look again, and she said your full name. Do you want to sleep in my room tonight” Jayson joked laughing at his poor father.

Now I was the one grinning.

“Looks like you’re going to get a bruise but nothing major” Leon made the verdict for Scarlett who was just looking at both me and her father in amusement.

This was normal. Me and Leon bickering to each other and all our kids just watching in amusement.

This simple moment was what made our family. I didn’t need anything fancy in my life anymore, I just needed a loving husband and kids who made my life just that more interesting.

I couldn’t hide the proud smile as I watched Leon tuck the two into their beds.

“hey, dad she’s having one of those moments maybe if you read us a book she’ll let you into your room tonight” I heard the faint sound of Jayson whisper to Leon as they were close.

I saw Leon smile and nod his head as he climbed into bed with Jayson.

Jayson POV

I watched my mom leave the room with a ghost of a smile on her face. Dad watched her leave as well a genuine smile this time, not his funny joking smile but a real one.

I only remember a little about my past. When it was just me and my parents. I knew that there was a time in my life where we didn’t all live together; it was when my dad made a huge mistake that had mom pack both hers and my bags.

“Do you ever think that you and mum will break up again?” I asked dad inn the middle of him reading me a book.

He stopped reading and turned to me.

“I can’t say never but id like to think that me and your mother are strong enough to get through anything” he said as he wrapped his arm around me.

“I don’t want my sisters to experience what I did dad; I don’t remember much of it, but I just don’t want that” there are only a few memories I have from that time in my life.

This time dad completely closed the book. “I’ll make a promise to you son. I will try my very best to keep you, your sisters and your mother happy. If I think my job is getting in the way of my family I’ll stop. Your mother has been the love of my life since high school and I promise to love her for a lifetime. How does that sound” some may think that when their parents speak like this its weird and they want it to end.

But with me, it brings me hope.

“who knew you could be so cheesy” I grinned up at him. He gasped at me but in the end he hugged me tight. He placed a kiss on my head as he got up to leave.

“I hope your plan worked Jay, I really don’t want to sleep on the sofa tonight” He said just before closing the door to my room.
