Enough For Him

Suddenly he reached up cradling my jaw. ” what would I do without you Lizzy ” he whispered.

That was our last moment of peace until his legal team barged through to his office.

” here we go” I muttered.

All through the hour I barely moved. I stood by him giving him all my support. He didn’t need to do this alone.

Leon’s problems are my problems.

“what’s going on?” I asked Hailey, we were sitting in the hall waiting for lunch when I saw a group of girls running, they had a big gift bag in their hand as they passed us.

“Don’t you know? It’s Leon’s birthday today” I turned around and saw the girls go up to Leon who sat with his boys. The girl handed Leon the giftbag and giggled when Leon spoke to her.

I did know that it was his birthday, but I had no idea that it was such a big deal. Ever since that day when he admitted his feelings to me I have kind of been avoiding him. I think he could see that, and he gave me the space that I needed.

All weekend I was trying to figure out what to do, do I give him a present or just greet him on his birthday. I chose the first option, and with the help from my mom I bought him a board game. When I was at parties with him and his friends saw that he loved playing games.

The present was weighing me down throughout the day. I took time thinking about my feelings towards Leon. He was a breath of fresh air, making me laugh whenever he speaks to me. it also didn’t help that he was really good looking.

I wanted something with him I knew that, but I think he might have moved on.

When it came to the end of school I rushed across campus and waited by the gates. 20 minutes later I saw him. His friends had left earlier to go get his party ready, leaving him to walk alone.

He had his head down as he walked towards the exit, he didn’t even see me standing there. Why did he look so low?

“LEON!” I shouted catching his attention. Those bold eyes stared at me, he looked confused as to why I would be there.

I held the wrapped-up box to my chest and met him. I stood in front of him pressing the box firmly.

“I’m sorry for leaving it late but I got something for you. Happy birthday” I said handing him the present. I waited for him to take it, but he just stared at me.

This was a mistake I shouldn’t have.

“yeah you might hate it but I’m giving it to you so I’m going to leave it here” I bent down and placed in on the ground avoiding his eyes completely.

When I stood back up I hadn’t expected him to be this close. He kicked the present to the side with his foot and stepped closer to me.

He lifted my chin up and slowly but surely he smiled at me. “Think its time you gave me my present” I looked at him unsure. I lowered my eyes to the gift I got him on the floor.

“no uh, what present do you think I want right now Charlize” I was at a loss for words.

He couldn’t seriously be implying what I think could he.

His hand came and rested on my shoulder rubbing the bare skin showing from my top.

His eyes were almost hypnotising as they stared at me.

So, I did what I thought he wanted. I leant up onto my tiptoes and placed a small kiss on his cheek. When he realised that I kissed his cheek he groaned and grabbed my waist pulling me against him.

“No princess, I want these” he said and smashed his lips down onto my own. My gasp was silenced as he coaxed me with his soft lips.

I enjoyed it way too much.

Present Day

Today was Leon’s birthday and I didn’t forget; from what I was aware of he had no plans to celebrate but I wasn’t going to let that happen.

Its been 2 weeks since those accusations came out and Jess has been the ultimate lawyer and worked hard to keep Leon’s reputation positive. The girls were proved to have been lying with the police finding deleted messages between Emily and them. There were even payments made.

Me and Leon decided to book Jessica a flight to Miami and hotel to stay in with her boyfriend as a thank you.

Leon was currently at the office and I had arranged for everyone to be at the house for when he returns to celebrate his birthday.

People started to come to the house filling up each room. I had cooked a bunch of his favourite foods with some help from jean who made some amazing pasta dishes.

“c’mon, Jayson let’s get changed for daddy” I lifted my boy up and carried him up the stairs. I made sure that I changed Jayson clothes first before turning on the shower and getting myself ready.

I was anxious, not because of the stress of this birthday but tonight I was going to do something very untraditional and I didn’t know how he was going to take it. Would he love it will he be pissed.

“He’s coming!” Kaleb shouted from downstairs. I was able to apply some lip gloss to my lips before I rushed downstairs after Jayson as he was growing impatient with not seeing his father on his birthday.

“Thank you all for coming to Leon’s birthday celebration. Lets all quiet down and give him a surprise of his life when he gets here” I said announcing to everyone. They all looked as excited for it to finally happen.

Mum Looked unbelievably proud and I knew she waited a long time to see me finally treat Leon like the king he was.

I stood next to Leon’s parents with Jayson in my arms as we heard his car arrive into the driveway. As soon as the door opened Leon appeared in the entrance.

“SURPISE”

We all shouted. Leon looked generally shocked nearly jumping out of his own skin when he saw all of us standing. His eyes jumped to each of us his eyes finally landing on me and Jayson.

“Happy Birthday son” his dad said coming and giving him a hug. Jayson was like a little dog in my arms scratching at me to let him down.

I placed him down on the ground and watched him sprint over to Leon. “Happy Birthday Daddy I love you” people around us cooed at the sweet words from Jayson.

One by one people greeted him before clearing the room giving space for everyone.

I walked up to Leon slowly. I grabbed his arm. “Happy Birthday Leon” I whispered. He grabbed my arm pulling me tightly into his chest.

I grinned up at him and kissed his lips gently. “Let’s go get changed” I whispered, I pulled him with me and headed towards the staircase, Kaleb stood there smirking.

“make it quick guys you’re the hosts” he said, which earned a small punch from Leon.

When we were in the master bedroom I felt his hands come around my waist as he pressed himself against my back. “you look beautiful Lizzy” he whispered. I leant into his back.

I helped him get changed making sure he looked charming as ever. We both made our way downstairs. I let Leon go talk with the guests whilst I finished preparing the food.
