Enchanted Nightfall: Falling for Destiny

Chapter 368

Alexander glanced at his watch, feeling his heart racing with regret. Why on earth hadn't he opted for a sports car when he had the chance? So slow! Painfully slow!

Rachel ceased her fiddling and sneaked a peek at Alexander through a curtain of hair. The concern etched on his face for Quintessa was palpable. She seemed to be the center of everyone's universe.

On set, Quintessa stretched her arms and legs, grateful for the pleasant weather. The road had been blocked off to ensure the shoot went smoothly.

The crew appeared relaxed, knowing the end of the shoot was in sight.

Quintessa mused that the wrap party didn't need to be at some fancy hotel. A simple barbecue at a local joint would suffice. Mr. York really didn't mind splashing the cash.© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

The director called out, "Quinn, you're up in ten minutes!"

Quintessa nodded, "Got it!"

Manny came over to fix Quintessa's hair.

"Be careful, Tess. Even though it's just a staged car crash, safety first."

Quintessa chuckled, "Don't worry, we're all insured."

"But let's hope we never need to use that insurance, right?"

Violet joined them, adding, "Manny's right. Safety above all. We'll get you a stunt double. After all, we're under the York Financial Group's wing now. We can afford it." Quintessa laughed, "Sure, discuss it with the big boss tonight."

Violet waved the idea away, "Me? No way. He'd kick me to the curb. But a little pillow talk from you, and it's as good as done."

The director shouted, "Alright, Quinn, let's roll."

"Let's do this!"

Violet cautioned, "Be careful."

"Will do."

Quintessa waved and got into the car.

Violet muttered, "Why am I feeling so anxious?"

Manny nodded, "These scenes are always a bit risky."

The scene started with Quintessa driving alone. As she approached an intersection, a car suddenly emerged from the left and collided with her.

Everything was set. The director

called action, and Quintessa started the car slowly accelerating. Safety was the priority, after all. As she neared the intersection, the other car charged out and headed straight for her. sŵnovel.net

The moment of impact focused on Quintessa's face-she was in terror, and her eyes widened in shock.

Bang! The cars collided, and airbags deployed instantly. With the car shaking, Quintessa immediately tried to hit the brakes, only to find them unresponsive.

Panic surged through her. There was no way the safety checks had missed this. She swerved, crashing into a roadside bollard, and the vehicle came to a jarring halt.

Thrown forward then back,

Quintessa found her head dizzy from the impact. She couldn't afford to think too much; this was the final scene, and it had to be completed.

The director, watching through the monitor, was surprised. The script had called for an immediate stop after the collision, but Quinn's erash into the bollard made it all seem more real.

He grabbed the walkie-talkie, "Cut! Check on her, quick. If she's okay, Manny, touch up Quinn's makeup."

Manny and Violet were already running towards the scene.

Quintessa reached for the door; her surprise turned to dread as she realized that it wouldn't open. She was trapped inside the car.
