Dumping Him for His Uncle (Natasha and Zachary)

Chapter 18

"Don't worry, it's already much better," Natasha smiled as she spoke, but just then, she spotted Zachary walking in through the front door.

The sleek silver-gray suit, complemented by a pale blue shirt and matching tie, created a polished and subtly menacing charm. The addition of gold-rimmed glasses only amplified this effect.

Natasha remembered clearly-Zachary never needed glasses. The fact that he wore them now was a deliberate choice, not necessity.

Steven said, "You're just in time. I've had lunch prepared. Let's eat together."

Zachary nodded, accepting the invitation without hesitation. Natasha shifted her gaze away and felt confused.

She said, "Shouldn't there still be a pile of work waiting for you at the office, Mr. Foster? You really don't have to—"

She didn't even get to finish the sentence before he cut her off. "No need to worry, Ms. Bradley. I can spare the time for lunch. Not every CEO is too busy to eat."

Natasha pressed her lips together; her plan to speak with Steven privately was now disrupted. She had hoped to use lunch as an opportunity to convince him to help her. But with Zachary joining them, she would have to find another chane.

Throughout the meal, she kept stealing glances at him.

Every time she had seen him before, his hair was always neat, perfectly parted, with not a strand out of place. But today, it was slicked back, with a few loose strands falling over his forehead, giving him a reckless, trust-fund playboy vibe.

"Zachary, are you going on a date today?" Steven asked, picking up on the shift in his appearance.

Zachary nearly choked on his drink. He thought about it for a second. To be honest, this could also be considered a date.

"Yeah," he replied simply.noveldrama

But what was all he gave. He didn't say another word about the mystery date. Meanwhile, Natasha could practically hear herself screaming inside. "If you've got a date, then go! Why are you still here having lunch with Mr. Foster Senior?"

"Well, now that's a relief to hear. First time I've ever heard you mention going on a date," Steven said.

His eyes were filled with nothing but pride and satisfaction, but Natasha couldn't shake her frustration.

Even the most successful men could turn into love-struck fools. The way Zachary was dressed today reminded her of Matthew back when he was still trying to impress girls-especially since their faces bore more than a passing resemblance.

She suddenly remembered how she had mistaken the man who had saved her life for Matthew all those years ago. The sound of her setting the bowl down was louder than she intended.

Both men turned toward her, clearly surprised. Natasha blinked and realized she had just given herself away.

After lunch, she quietly prayed that Zachary would leave for his date. However, he made himself comfortable as if he had planned to stay the whole afternoon.

Natasha said, "The weather's perfect today, Mr. Foster. Seems like the ideal time to go out on a date."

Zachary replied, "Yeah."

"Look at how beautiful the flowers in the garden are. You should bring a bouquet when you go on a date. Girls love that."

"Alright."

"I saw a restaurant the other day that would be perfect for a date. Do you want me to recommend it to you, Mr. Foster?"

"No need."

Natasha was already on the edge of losing her patience, while Steven had dozed off in the sun.

"Ms. Bradley, maybe you should come back tomorrow. Mr. Foster Senior is tired."

A maid approached, and only then did Natasha realize she had been so focused

on Zachary that she hadn't noticed anything else.

"Alright, I'll come back next time."

After saying that, Natasha shot Zachary a glare.

Zachary looked confused, wondering what he had done wrong.
