Drawn to You: The Billionaire’s Second Wife

Chapter 23

“Lilian…” Xavier called out while in the corridor. He pushed the door open to get her asleep on the bed.

He twitched towards her and tapped her awake. She narrowed her eyes, staring at him like he was a stranger to her.

“What’s wrong Xavier? You just woke me up while I’m deep asleep.” She uttered reluctantly while wiping her face.

Xavier gave her an annoying look, his glares alone would jail her up at the moment.

“You starved my children again, Lilian. Must we always quarrel about one issue each time?” He yelled.

She got seated on the bed still staring at him. He knew that Xavier would roar at her once he was back, and this time he might not take it easy with her.

Then, she needs to spare herself this shit. She needs to relieve himself from his queries.

“Let’s talk about this first, Xavier. You left to work without letting me know huh?” She asked him.

He heaved a big sigh. If only Lilian knows how he feels within him, he won’t throw such an annoying question.

“Lillian, you must be insane for asking me such an unnecessary question…”All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.

She got down from the bed. Xavier is turning to something else. This is not the man he met earlier.

“You just referred to my question as unnecessary huh? Ok then, you have to hold your question…” she spluttered and dashed into the bathroom.

Xavier kept staring at the door until she twitched out again.

“After all the cautions I gave you because of these children, you went ahead emptying the plates without preparing another meal for them.” He roared.

Lilian gasped. Her eyelids lifted as he stared at him.

“You abandoned me and left to work without letting me know, then you expect me to starve until your return, and then because of your children… Xavier, who does that.”

His palms transfixed on his waist as he paced around the room, the inner of him burning in anger.

“Why is it so difficult for you to prepare a meal?”

“Since you care to know, I’ll announce it.” She moved closer to him and stood directly opposite him. “I can’t have Tracy here and still go into that kitchen to prepare a meal. Hope you get it now..”

He couldn’t believe his ears. Practically, Lilian is turning his children into slaves.

“I never believed that you would starve my children just because of your laziness. But then, thank you for letting me know the real you.”

He paused and wiped his face. “Lilian, you can’t mother a child, and you can’t take care of me either.”

“Despite my health condition, you left me to die in pain. Why won’t I believe that you can murder me soon

Take your time and have a rethink towards this sudden change, or you will regret it when the time is late.” He concluded.

Lilian nodded, smiling. “Yeah! When the time is late, which means… when you will marry Vanessa in replace of me right.”

“Don’t dare mention Vanessa’s name again. Respect and follow her footsteps so you will be able to make a good mother…” he stated and left the room.

She bit her finger out of anger. Her heart beat increased and she placed her left palm on her chest.

What the f*ck is going on with her now? She can’t think straight again.

Losing Xavier to another woman is one thing she doesn’t wish to take place. But everything had changed between them.

She wouldn’t want to go the extra way to hurt him either, yet the presence of Vanessa in the home as a worker kept pissing her off.

If she keeps mute, then Vanessa might take Xavier away from her. Then man us everything she has at that moment.

His riches and wealth she desires a lot and she won’t let some other women take away what legally belongs to her.

Oh No! She can’t let this happen.

As it stands, she feels that Xavier is under the control of Vanessa and that he doesn’t think of appealing her request.

But, she will stand to take what rightfully belongs to her.

*************

In the morning, Tracy prepared breakfast as usual and they began getting dressed for school.

Xavier had arrived at the dining room and got seated while she served her father a plate of noodles and a cup of tea with slices of bread.

She watched her father gobble on the meal even though he had filled his stomach the previous night.

“Dad, I hope you talked to your wife last night. I’m saying this because I can’t take it any longer from her.” Tracy asked her father.

He rolled his eyes. “You don’t need to worry, I’ve cautioned her and such a thing won’t take place again.” He assured her.

Tracy nodded and smiled. She left the dining room to the stairs to join her siblings in dressing up.

“Chloe…” Vanessa called out once she arrived.

She dashed into her room to get her brushing her teeth. “I’m so sorry to be late today, I had some challenges.”

Chloe turned and glanced at her. “Good morning ma’am Vanessa.” She was still busy with her teeth.

“Good morning sweetheart, you slept well right?” She asked her.

She nodded. “I did, what sort of challenges did you have?”

“You don’t need to bother yourself about it. Just be quick so you can dress up.” Vanessa replied while seated on the bed.

She was through with brushing and then met Nessa seated on the bed.

“Do you know that I can get dressed for school myself?” Chloe referred to Vanessa who was busy with her clothes.

She nodded. “Of course, there’s nothing tough for you to do.”

Nessa was done with arranging her clothes and then she took her to the bathroom so she would take a shower.

Within minutes, she was already out and began putting on her school clothes.

Tracy announced to her from the doorpost to come downstairs for breakfast which she didn’t hesitate to do.

“This might be lunch too,” Chloe uttered while leaving the room.

Vanessa couldn’t stop smiling at that sentence, she had known Chloe to act ridiculous towards many things.

The children were so fast with their meal, though their Father had left before them.

Tracy alerted the driver to drive them to school, and Chloe waved Vanessa goodbye before stepping into the car.

*********

After the children had left for school, Vanessa went back to Chloe’s room to get it stalked and arranged.

She sorted her clothes which were on the sofa and kept the dirty ones aside for laundry.

If only she was less busy at the bakery, she would wash them all. But there are lots of orders from her patronizers, and she needs to get them ready on time.

Once she was done cleaning up the bedroom and the restroom, she decided to go meet Vanessa about the incident Chloe had told her occurred again.

She needs to talk to her before things get out of hand.

While on the stairs, she was so lucky to get to the dining table already having her breakfast.

She waited patiently for her in the sitting room until she was done and met her seated.

“What do I have to offer a bitch? You are supposed to be at your bakery by now…” Lilian referred to Vanessa.

She swallowed deeply trying not to curse back at her at the moment.

“You can call me whatever you like, but I just want you to do this for me. At least for the sake of Xavier’s late wife…”

“And what is it all about this time? Just have something to say or I’ll kick your ass from that sofa.” Lilian retorted.

She nodded. “It’s about Xavier’s children. This is the second time I’m getting the complaint of you starving them while they prepared their lunch before leaving for school…”

Lilian affixed her stares on her.

“It’s just not fair, Lilian. You’ll be getting married to Xavier soon, and it’s your responsibility to take good care of these children. For heaven’s sake, they’re just like a kid to you.” She stated.

“I don’t care if you hate me, Lilian. And I will never care because I’m working for Xavier, not you. It’s nothing good to see you quarrel with your fiance over something meaningful..” Vanessa added.

She stood on her feet moving to the sides of the room. Her arms got folded beneath her burst.

“I’ve heard enough of all this Miss Vanessa. This is something between me and Xavier, not you okay. I am not treating the children badly, but if you think then go ahead…Maybe you spellbinding Xavier to always believe in everything you say, but I’ll make sure to tie him to my heart.”

She paused her movement and faced Vanessa fully. Her lips circled and she let out an aggressive smile.

“You’re done with your morning duty, right? Chloe is not present now, so kindly stand on your feet and leave back to your bakery.” She ordered her.

Vanessa quietly got on her feet and grabbed her handbag.

“Just mark my words.” That was all she said and left through the door.
