Don’t Fall for the Billionaire Lover

Chapter 980

Isaac suddenly realized he hadn't seen Connor crack a smile in what felt like ages. Connor had turned into a full-on workaholic, dodging every party and social scene. The only thing that got him to stop working, even for a bit, was his son, noveldrama

Tim.

"Seriously, Connor, you need a break," Isaac urged.

Connor glanced at the stack of documents in front of him, his voice steady, "I don't need a break."

"But Tim's already three, you gotta take him out for some fun," Isaac pressed on.

Connor paused with his pen mid-air. His son was the softest spot in his heart. But with all his jet-setting around the world, finding time for Tim was tough. Right now, Tim was staying with the Shaw family, under Winston and Cassie's care. Connor visited whenever he could. Of course, Tim was the darling of the Shaw family.

Isaac continued, "Tim's got plenty of love, sure, but nothing replaces a father's love. Without his mom around, he needs you more as he grows. No matter how busy you are, you can't overlook him."

Connor's heart clenched. He loved Tim deeply. Especially since Tim looked so much like Chloe, even though he was a boy. Every time he saw those bright eyes, it felt like a thousand stabs to his heart.

"I'm planning to take him to Disneyland in Florida in a few days," Connor finally said.

Isaac felt a wave of relief. "Come over for dinner tonight; my folks have been asking about you."

Connor and Isaac headed home together. As soon as Connor stepped inside, a little whirlwind zoomed towards him. Tim wrapped himself around Connor's leg, his voice full of childlike charm, "Daddy, hug me."

Connor's face softened instantly. He scooped up the little guy in one swift motion. "What was Tim up to?"

Tim clung to Connor's neck, "Grandma said you were coming, so I waited at the door. Daddy, I love you the most. You gotta come see Tim every day."

Even at three, Tim talked with surprising ease. Isaac pretended to be annoyed, "Tim, buddy, you're a little man. You shouldn't sound all sweet like that."

Tim turned to Isaac, his eyes wide, "Uncle Isaac, I love you too, so don't be jealous."

"Jealous? Me?"

"Uncle Isaac, stop being silly. There's a toy rocking horse over there. Go play with

it."

Isaac couldn't believe the dismissive look on a three-year-old's face. The kid was a little two-faced. In front of his dad, he was as sweet as an angel all cuddles and innocence. But when his dad wasn't around, he was a little mischief-maker. For three-year-old, he had quite the knack for causing trouble and loved playing pranks. Among the four brothers, Isaac was the one who bore the brunt of Tim's antics.

It happened to be Thanksgiving, and the Shaw family had gathered, filling the house with lively chatter. Tim insisted on sitting on Connor's lap during dinner. He was super well-behaved, eating his meat without a fuss and even offering his dad food from his plate. The family was wrapped in warmth and laughter.

Neil suggested, "Connor, why don't you crash here tonight?"

Connor nodded. These days, he

spent more time at the Shaw family

home than at the Sartori estate. The

Shaw household was warm and

bustling with life. Yet beneath all the

cheerful chatter, there was a scar in everyone's heart, one that bled every now and then.
