Dirty Little Secret

Unice’s PoV

It’s been two weeks, and I’m feeling nauseated. And Zoey has decided to live with me because she is concerned that I am pregnant. It’s early in the morning, and I’m going to take a pregnancy test, so I’m in the bathroom.

Positive things the physician at the nearby convenience store was kind enough to show me how to use a pregnancy test, and I followed his instructions.

First, I’ll put on disposable gloves, then collect a sample of my urine using the urine container. Third, collect some urine with disposable droplets; fifth, drop at least three times in the pregnancy test and wait three minutes for the result, which is good because I have my cellphone right here.

I had a slight headache, and it’s irritating when someone teases you, as Zoey did to me yesterday. Still, I didn’t show her how irritated I was.

After three minutes, the results were in; there was a line in both the test and the center. According to the physician guide, I am positive that I was pregnant.

I stood up from my seat, exited the bathroom quickly, and went downstairs, speechless. When I came out, I smelled Zoey’s breakfast cooking and approached the kitchen, where she looked at me even though she had already finished cooking.

“What’s the problem? I can hear you coming down so quickly,” As she prepared the breakfast on the plate, Zoey asserted.

“Look! It’s a positive!” I pointed it out to her and showed her the pregnancy test, which surprised her.

“Shit! Congratulations! This is shocking news! You’re going to be a mother! Wait, whose kid is this?” I look at Zoey as she congratulates me.

“It’s Ace, of course! Who would it be? Are you serious?” I told her I knew it was just Ace because whenever we had free time, we always made love, and she laughed and hugged me in front of me.

“Congratulations! Because we live together, I will be her family as well.” Zoey stated I’m overjoyed because I want to tell Ace about it. But I’m unsure whether our baby is a boy or a girl.

“Because you’re already pregnant, let’s go to the hospital and make an appointment with an ob-gyn after breakfast,” Zoey suggested, and I nodded.

I went back upstairs to return to my room, where I placed the pregnancy test in a drawer, picked up my phone, and went down again. I decided to call Max because he and Charlie work at the same company as me.

I dialed Max’s number, and he quickly answered my call.

[Good day, Miss Unice! I’m already here at your house; I think Zoey didn’t hear the doorbell,] Max said, and I sat down.

“Wait, you’re already here; I’ll go outside and talk to you in a moment,” I replied, hanging up the phone.

“You didn’t hear the doorbell, Zoey? Max has already arrived,” I exclaimed, and she looked surprised as if she hadn’t heard me.

“I didn’t hear it because I was focused on cooking. Sorry about that. Go outside now,” Zoey apologized, and I nodded. I exited the house, and as I approached Max, he waved his hand.

“I see you, but where are Justin and Tom? They were here yesterday?” I inquired, putting his hand in his pocket.

“They’re on their way; they left last night after you two went to bed,” Max added that the two had not even left a note.

“Perhaps next time, they should text or leave a note before they leave anyways. I need you to take over my position for today since I’m going to the hospital for a check-up,” I explained to him, who was taken aback.Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Are you in pain?! If Ace was here, I’d be dead right now!” Max was concerned, and he examined my entire body.

“I’m fine; it’s just that I’m pregnant. I took the pregnancy test, and I’ll tell Ace about it after I confirm it with the doctor.” I exclaimed to him, and he was taken aback by what I had said, putting a smile on his face.

“Shit! Congratulations! I’ll text the two to help you,” Max exclaimed, and I nodded in agreement.

“Thank you, Max; I’ll leave the business to you for today only. I promise I’ll go to work tomorrow.” I made a promise to him.

“I know that the employees are very close to you already because you are very kind to them, and no matter what happens or what issue the company has, they will stay by your side no matter what because that is what Ace last told them,” Max explained. I never thought that Ace would do that, but he also worked hard for the toy company he built. Hopefully, his crime will not affect the business.

“All right, I’ll go back inside now; did you eat breakfast?” I asked him while he was on the phone.

“Thanks, but I already did; you go eat your breakfast now,” Max replied, and I nodded before returning to my house and enter.

“How did Max react to your pregnancy test results?” Zoey inquired, so I sat on a chair and crossed my legs.

“He was surprised, and he thought at. First, I was hurt because I mentioned the hospital,” I told her, and she laughed.

“I knew it. He’ll be worried,” Zoey exclaimed, and I was confused. I had already introduced Max to Zoey, but she doesn’t seem like him.

“Do you remember when I first introduced you to Max? Are you still talking to him?” I questioned Zoey, who was taken aback by what I had just said.

“To be honest, he keeps texting me, and I’m just replying to what he says,” Zoey responds. I smile, hoping that these two develop a relationship.

“Why do you inquire? Will you assist Max in getting closer to me?” While I was eating the pancake she made for our breakfast, Zoey teased me with a smirked face.

“You’re not interested in him? Why don’t you try to be close to Max after rejection? Maybe you’ll find your true love right now,” I suggested, and she blushed.

“I’ll try because you said so,” Zoey muttered, sipping her coffee.

“I want you to be happy, Zoey, and I will always be here to support you, which is why I am telling you this,” I told her, and she smiled at me, knowing that all I wanted to do was help her.

“Thank you very much! I want to hug you right now!” Zoey boasted, rising from her seat and hugging me on the back.

“Let’s hurry, so we don’t have to wait any longer at the hospital,” I suggested, and she let go of my hug as the two of us finished eating the breakfast she had prepared.

I drank the warm milk she prepared because I told her what I drink every morning. I must also be careful about what I eat because I’m pregnant. I know there will be changes in my body over time, so I definitely need to see an ob-gyn for advice. I’m so excited to meet my baby, and I’m sure Ace would be happy too if I told him. I’m curious whether our baby will be a boy or a girl.

“I’m going to take a shower, then I’m going to get ready. If Tom and Justin are here, tell them to wait while we prepare,” I said to Zoey as she gestured and went upstairs to my room.

I took out the pink hood jacket and fitted jeans from the closet before preparing the sneakers I would wear. After picking up some of my new bra and panty, I went to the bathroom. It was well made, as big as a small room, and the design is an American-style home, which I loved.

I take off all of my clothes and start taking a shower, opening the sprinkler and cleaning myself while scrubbing my body with soap and shampooing my hair, I touch my tummy, and I’m excited to feel the big tummy soon, I know this is going to be a responsibility, but I’m ready. After washing myself, I took a towel from the towel rack and dried myself. I used the hair blower to dry my hair and then applied a body lotion to my arms and legs.

A little facial cleanser on my face, then I remember Ace and I used to take showers together and make love on the spot. I already miss him, and perhaps he misses me as well. I exited the bathroom and went to bed, where my clothes had already been prepared.

Wearing the clothes I’m going to wear after I’ve prepared, I brush my hair and style it in a ponytail. I pick up the bag I’m going to use. My phone is now on low battery, so I’ve brought my power bank instead of a charger so I can charge along the way. I exited my room and took the downstairs; I believe Zoey is preparing now, so I decided to go out. I saw Tom and Justin standing there, looking at me as if they were about to congratulate me.

“Miss Unice, good morning! Congratulations on your pregnancy. We have heard everything! And we have some bad news for you,” Tom congratulated me, and I was right about it. Still, because of the bad news, he was about to say, possibly about Ace, I was afraid.

“It’s about our boss, who was admitted to a mental hospital. The police informed us that he was insane due to his mental health problems, and the authorities provided his own psychologist.” Tom explained the bad news, and I was speechless.

“I hope everything is fine for Ace. First, I need to go to the hospital; please assist me in getting there, and then we will visit Ace at the mental hospital; do you know where he is?” I asked him, and he quickly responded.

“He is at the Urea Mental Hospital, near the police station, and that is where he is detained,” Tom added, and I nodded.

“Thank you for informing me of that; I need to talk to him about the baby we’ll be having,” I added, and I heard Zoey’s voice as she approached us in her casual clothes.

“We’re not out of this yet, and we have to be on guard if the authorities find out we have a plan with Ace; we must stick to the plan and plan straight ahead, or we may be blown.” Max decided to add, and I both agreed on what he just said,

“Right, we need to plan ahead,” I informed Max.

“Unice, I’m ready! I already lock all the doors!” Zoey is confident as she approaches us.

“All right, let’s go now, Tom and Justin will be with us,” I reassured her, and she nodded as we approached the Humvee vehicle.
