Devoted To You

Chapter 29 An apology from Mr. Walker would bring them all to life?

Chandler looked at her and swallowed the words that had just reached his throat.

She wiped her mouth clean and rubbed it hard with a paper towel until it was red and swollen.

“Can a word of apology from Mr. Walker bring them all to life?” Looking at the man in front of her, Susan almost went up to chop him. Only, in the end, she had stopped and didn’t carry it out.

He didn’t squeal and seemed to be recalling the kiss he had just received.

Susan’s face immediately fell and she warned him in a cold voice: “Mr. Walker, please show some respect, I’m not a whore! I’m just an ordinary college student.”

Seeing his obsequious response, Susan frowned and walked towards the opposite side without looking back.

There were many cars on the road, but she walked straight ahead as if she didn’t see them.

When Chandler saw this, he didn’t care that she was still angry and pulled her over, scolding her in a low voice: “You want to die?”

“That’s my business, not Mr. Walker’s.” Susan took a step back and distanced herself from him.Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

Chandler was a little frustrated, “Susan.”

“What?” She shook her clothes, her tone was a little too serious, and when she saw his helpless look, she added, “If you have nothing to do, I’ll leave.”

And then she walked away without a moment’s hesitation. Just a few steps away, she heard his worried cautionary voice again: “Susan, be careful these days.”

“Oh, you’re the one I should be careful of.” She disliked back without mercy and looked at Chandler without a trace of emotion in her eyes.

He frowned slightly and said seriously, “I’m serious, the news that you’re alive has spread, plus you’ve been in the limelight lately, I’m afraid Mrs. Gray will also make a move.”

This is to the point. She pursed her lips slightly, “Why are you telling me this?”

“Anyway, you should be more careful.” And then he was also silent.

Cars were coming and going on the road, and the two were separated by some distance.

Susan lowered her head and hesitated before speaking, “Thanks for the reminder.”

“Well, be careful.” Chandler did not say much, not too surprised nor too disappointed.

She stood hesitantly in place, not knowing what to say next.

Sooner or later, she would take care of Mrs. Gray’s business. She just didn’t expect the other side to do it so quickly, but that was good, it saved her from taking the initiative to look for trouble.

He saw that she calmed down and showed no animosity towards him.

“If you want, I can help you.” He suddenly showed goodwill.

Susan shook her head and rejected his kindness, “This matter is my business, I can solve it myself.”

“But about Mrs. Gray, you should still …”

Susan was a little impatient and interrupted his rambling straight away, “I can do it myself, you don’t need to talk to me in such a tone.”

“Okay.” He looked at her for a long time, finally defeated, and could only remind her, “The absolute control of Anka is in your hands, though Mrs. Gray still has some hidden shares in her hands, though I don’t know how many.”

“Ok.” She looked at the man in front of her and was surprised that she didn’t interrupt again. She looked at him quietly and peacefully, maintaining an absolutely safe distance between them.

It was the first calm conversation they’d had since their first reunion, and Chandler couldn’t resist talking more, though most of it was business.

Susan, however, was contemplating how to bring Mrs. Gray down and did not notice his gradual change of demeanor.

Anka is the last of her father’s blood, formerly occupied by that woman, now she has taken back to rectify, but this is not enough.

She couldn’t help but clench her fist, three years ago her father was seriously ill for no reason, and she couldn’t pay for it. The image of her father dying in front of her is still in her mind.

Chandler and Mrs. Gray …

He did not yet know that the person in front of him suddenly held a grudge. Susan looked at him viciously.

If it wasn’t for him, she wouldn’t be in the mess she was in, and she wouldn’t have ended up with a broken home.

“Do you remember?” She raised her head and looked at the man in front of her, “You are also my enemy, don’t forget that child and my father. You saw death and didn’t save him, instead you played a trick on me to never see him again.”

Chandler pursed his lips, and his face gradually whitened.

“I no longer blame you for being that way at first, I just hate myself for being blind to fall in love with you. But nowadays, you really … make me feel uneasy.” Susan smiled senselessly.

She ignored his pale face and shaky form. It was as if there was an invisible hand in the air, choking him hard, then slowly tightening and tightening again.

She took a step back and continued to laugh: “So why are you being so nice to me nowadays? Backtracked? Seeing how good I’ve been to you? What about Karen? She’s dead, but she’s in your heart forever. What about me?”

Without waiting for him to say anything, Susan shook her head again and said in a somewhat wavering tone, “This matter, I will solve it myself, I don’t need your help. What happens in the future, also has nothing to do with you.”
