Demoted To An Omega

**CIARA’S POV**

“How will I get these injuries treated?” I thought painfully. No one wants to associate with me like I am some plague. I could not cry. That is if there are more tears in my eyes. I chuckled bitterly.

I carried myself into my bathroom and had a cold bath on my colored injuries. Ouch! It hurts. I could not take the pain from the cold. I wore my clothes and was about stepping into the room, my vision suddenly became blurry. Before you know it, I blacked out.

I found myself in the most beautiful place I have ever seen. A place with a beautiful waterfall with different colorful flowers and tall trees, the beautiful view of a rainbow during sunset, beautiful butterflies moving around freely and giving it a unique kind of peace. Then a butterfly came to my side, as I wanted to take it into my hand, it flew away. I started following it, trying to get to perch on my index finger but it kept moving away. Then it stopped, i looked around for it but could not find it. I turned around trying to locate the direction it went but could not find it, then it hits me, i was in another place, this place is a field with few flowers surrounding it. My eyes caught something… or rather someone —– two people sitting side by side.

They stood up and turned towards me. Wait…. Tell me it is a dream…. Tell me I am just imagining things. It looks like I am in a trance right now… Look like the world stopped rotating….. The earth stood still for some seconds.

“Mom, dad.” I did not know when the words escaped my lips. I ran towards them, they were also coming towards me, i jumped on them.

“Mom, dad.” I said sniffing back the tears that were starting to form.

“Oh my goodness, my baby.” My mother cooed and engulfed me in an hug. She soon released me and i was pulled into a hug by my dad.

“Daddy.” I said sniffing in his cologne.

“My baby, don’t cry, okay?.” He said wiping my tears.

“You have grown so big.” My dad said as he checked me out. My lips twitched a little bit into a small smile. They smiled happily at me.

“I miss you.” I said looking at them.

“We miss you too, baby.” My mom said.

“See, we are doing well here.” My mom said.

“This place is more peaceful than the earth which is full of pain, sorrow, sadness and other terrible things, but here, It is peaceful here. We are satisfied so do not worry yourself too much.” My dad said.

“I want to come stay with you.” I said like a baby.

“No, my darling.” My mom said.

“You have got a life there and a mate.” She said smiling and looking at my dad. Aww…

“Mate.” I scoffed.

“Yes, dear.” My dad said in reply.

“Promise me, you will take good care of yourself.” My parents said.

“What? Why?” I said holding unto them like I was holdng for dear life.

“You can’t stay with us.” They said.

“Our borrowed time is up already, so we…..” They said as they started fading away. My mother’s emerald eyes held glassy tears and while I stared at her with mine.

No…. No….. No… Come back… I lost you years ago… Please don’t leave me.. I need you… I am…”

I said in broken words.

“Take care.” That was the last and only words i heard.

“Why is this place so dark and evil lurking around?” I thought to myself.

The energy it gives off is evil but what am I doing here by the way?

“Are my parents also here? No!, that can’t be possible, my parents can’t be in a dark place like this.”

Not long did I start to hear different people’s voices chanting several words.

“You are the reason they died.”

“My parents died because of you.”

“If you had not been born, my siblings will still be alive.”

As I heard these voices, I started shaking,

I bent down and held my head.

“No, stop it, I did not do anything. Please listen to me, I did not, please, stop it.”

I started finding it hard to breathe, my chest started going up and down.

Air…. Oxygen….. Yes… I need oxygen… Please give me.

“Doctor, what is happening?” I heard a very distant voice say.

“She is finding it hard to breathe.”

“What do you mean?” The voice asked.

Then I felt some thing on my chest. My breathe started regulating.

“No! I screamed as I jerked up instantly with sweats dripping down my face in beads.

Surprisingly I found my self in an hospital. The last time I checked I was in my room. Right?

‘Who brought me here?’

“Oh my head.” I said holding it. Gosh it aches a lot… I noticed I was bandaged all over my body.

“So the jinx is finally awake.” I heard a voice.

I looked up to see Nicole. I bowed instantly.

I looked around and saw a glass of water beside. I took it with my shaking hands and drank the water.

“You know I was scared that you would die without receiving my part of punishment.” She said and smirked.

All I did was just stare at her. Not like there was anything to say.

“I hope you recover quick because I don’t think I can wait anymore to unleash my anger on you.” She said and turned then she left. After she was gone, I slumped back and passed out again.
