Dear Ex Wife Please take me back

Chapter 57~ Emotions for two

ATHENA

Alex: [ What are you doing?]

I stare at the message while I stuff another spoon of ice cream in the mouth. I've been staying home while I think of what to do about my white coat ceremony when I receive a text from a man who has never sent me a message before.

He's been there but physically speaking to me, never on the phone.noveldrama

Me: [Eating Ice cream]

Alex: [Okay, we need to go somewhere?]

I frown as I type in a response.

Me: [Where? I'm eating ice cream.]

I know that might sound ridiculous to him, but I feel like I'll die if I don't quench this thirst.

No response.

Ten minutes later, I still get no reply, which makes me shrug as I continue watching my anime series.

The door opens, and Alex steps in.

He looks incredibly hot.

I mean, when does he ever look average. That blonde hair tussled from running his hands through it so much. His perfect suit with no line out of place.

He walks over to me, and I freeze.

Is he angry because of what I said? Now he's going to snap. Tears well, my eyes, and I feel emotional all of a sudden as he walks towards me.

He halts his steps, searching me before snapping out of his shock and rushing to my side,

"Athena, is something hurting?" He asks, his voice panicked.

I sniff and shake my head, making him halt his movements on my body.

"Then why are you crying?" He asks, and the tears run down even faster.

He lifts his thumb and wipes my tears before holding my chin to face him, "Please tell me why you're crying so I can make you feel better."

I sniff again, my blurred vision finding his greens. "Because you are upset with me."

Alex blinks, his brows furrowing in confusion. "Upset with you?" His grip on my chin softens, and he tilts his head slightly, studying me. "Why would you think that?"

I sniff again, feeling utterly ridiculous, but the emotions keep crashing over me like waves I can't control.

“Because I said I was eating ice cream, and you didn't respond. Then you showed

up looking all serious, and I thought... I thought you were mad."

Alex stares at me for a long moment before exhaling a deep chuckle, his shoulders shaking slightly.

Alex rarely smiles, Much less laughs. So when I hear that sound, my heart jumps in excitement.

"You're crying because of that?" he asks, amusement dancing in his green eyes.

I pout, crossing my arms. "It's not funny."

He immediately wipes the smirk off his face, but I can still see the mirth in his expression. "No, of course not. It's very serious." He clears his throat, trying to sound sincere, but I can tell he's holding back a smile.

I push his chest weakly. "You're still laughing at me."

"I'm not." He holds up his hands in surrender before sitting down beside me on the couch.

"Dr. Quinn mentioned the little angel inside you might lend you her emotions, so I guess you'll feel the Urge to cry, and that's okay."

"It is?" I ask.

He tucks a loose strand of my hair in the back of my ear while he nods.

I sniff again and shove another spoonful of ice cream in my mouth, letting the cold distract me from my absurd breakdown.

Alex watches me, his gaze softening. Then, without warning, he reaches out and swipes a bit of ice cream off the corner of my lips with his thumb.

I freeze.

The moment stretches between us, charged and unspoken. His thumb lingers for a second too long before he putts back, licking off the ice cream as if it's the most casual thing in the world.

My breath hitches.

His eyes flicker with something unreadable before he leans back, draping an arm over the couch like he wasn't just stealing my oxygen with that simple action.

"So," he says, completely unfazed. "Should I grab another tub of ice cream for you?"

I shake my head. "One is enough." I pause. "Why are you back so early?"

"I came to take you somewhere."

I raise a brow. "And where exactly do you want to drag me off to?"

His eyes look excited. "You'll see."

"Alex, is it another appointment?" I groan.

We've already been to several, even when we are not supposed to be there, simply because he insisted on checking if the baby is fine and it makes me worried.

If anything goes wrong, we won't survive it.

Not that that's what I'm hoping for but these things happen.

Think positive, Athena.

Putting my dark thoughts aside, I stand with the help of my husband, who seems to believe I can't get up from my chair on my own even though I'm only twelve weeks.

After making sure I have everything I need, we drive off, but somehow, I end up

falling asleep in the process.

"Athena," A warm hand touches my cheek, and just from how my body reacts, I know who it is.

I flutter my eyes open when I'm met with a nervous looking Alex.

Which is a first.

"Hey, we are here. Come on." He says as he helps me unclip my seat belt before crossing over to my side and holding my door open.

"Alex, where are-" My breaths hitches as I look at the reason why we are here.
