Chapter 79
Upon hearing the sound, lan furrowed his brows, lifting his head from a pile of papers, to see Maja
standing outside the car, grinning. The picturesque view of Crystalbrook Valley surrounded her, with NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
only the top half of her face visible, her eyes reflecting the sunlight.
His grip on the papers tightened involuntarily.
Why did he have to run into her no matter where he went?
Maja, unaware of his momentary change, knocked on the car window again, “Mr. Raymond, can I get
in?”
lan lowered his head, speaking in a calm tone, “Hop in.”
Maja pulled open the car door and got in.
The midday sun outside was scorching hot. As the door opened, a gust of hot air, along with her faint
fragrance, wafted in.
Daly, standing behind, relaxed his heart as he saw Maja get into the car and followed suit.
Olivia was standing at the front of the car on the phone, and beside her was a not-so-friendly-looking
guy on a motorbike. Upon seeing lan’s car, the guy’s eyes popped open.
“Olivia, do you know how much this car costs?”
Olivia shook her head, but it was the most beautiful car she had ever seen, “How much?”
The guy mysteriously lifted a finger.
*One million dollars?”
“Over ten million dollars!”
Olivia almost dropped her phone!
She had never seen such an expensive car in her life. If the price of the car was converted into cash,
how many houses could be bought?
In her astonishment, she saw Daly in the car behind and quickly waved at him.
Daly had no choice but to signal the driver to stop.
“Dad, the car’s out of gas. How could you go out without refueling? How am I supposed to drive back
now?”
A look of apology instantly appeared on Daly’s face, “Just hold on, Oli. I’ll ask a colleague to come and
fill it up.”
Olivia surveyed the inside of the car but didn’t see Maja. She immediately thought of the luxury car
ahead. Could Maja be in that car?
Quick on her feet, Olivia immediately asked, “Is Maja in the car ahead? Call her and ask the driver to
come back and pick me up.” Before Daly could respond, the other two frowned, “Mr. Raymond is busy.
Don’t waste his time.”
“Maja can ride in it. Why can’t I? Dad, call her now!”
Olivia’s impatience grew as she watched the car get further away, urging Daly to act.
Daly had no other option but to call Maja.
“Maja, Oli’s car ran out of gas on the road. We can’t fit anyone else in our car, could you… ask Mr.
Raymond if he could give Oli a lift?” Daly’s tone was humble, even pleading.
Maja quickly understood the situation. It was Olivia’s idea.
She just drove off, and now that she’s run out of gas, she wants them to sort it out.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Raymond is busy and has to deal with official matters. He doesn’t have time to come
back and pick someone up.”
“Oli’s friend has a motorbike. I can ask him to pick her up. You just need to ask the Boss to drive a bit
slower. Maja, I can’t just leave Oli here. Could you help me out?”
Maja felt silent. She spent her last year of high school in Crystalbrook Valley, living with Daly’s family.
He had always been kind to her, and she remembered his kindness. However, she couldn’t agree to
this.
Indulging and spoiling Olivia would eventually cause trouble if not stopped.
The car wasn’t hers and with Olivia’s personality, there was no telling what she might do if she got in
the car.
Olivia’s voice came through the phone just as she was about to speak.
“All you need to do is tell your Boss next to you. Why you’re being so difficult? Don’t forget you guys
owe me a lot. If it weren’t for your cousin going to your family’s company, how could he have left? After
he left, he disappeared, leaving me alone at home. This is what you guys owe me!”
Maja hung up the phone right away.
Hearing the click, Olivia’s face instantly changed, glaring at Daly in anger.
“She hung up on me. I’m sure she doesn’t feel guilty at all! if she ever comes back, don’t leave her a
room. She looks down on us!”
Daly was stuck between a rock and a hard place. With two important individuals present, he couldn’t
waste their time.
He immediately got out of the car, “Oli, get in. I’ll walk back.”
