Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 1733

Chapter 1733

He had a rendezvous planned with Nathan, and he hadn't forgotten to bring along the gift he'd picked up.

The constant buzzing of his phone sparked Nathan's curiosity, "Who's bombarding you with messages? It's like non-stop."

"Just work stuff."

Nathan raised an eyebrow, leaning in a bit closer, "You sure about that? You seem way too chill. It's not Ms. Miller, is it?"

Before he could finish his sentence, the elevator doors had already opened. Felix stepped out first, "Let's not talk about that kind of stuff in front of Listina."

"But you guys broke up, didn't you?"

It was an offhand question from Nathan, who remembered a time when Listina had called it quits with Felix because of his popularity with the ladies. Right after that, trouble had flared up, and though the breakup had been spoken aloud, and their engagement had been arranged by their parents in the past, Felix had remained deeply committed to Listina, honoring his late mother's last wishes.

Felix didn't respond, instead walking into Listina's hospital room. Nathan zipped his lips. Everyone knew Listina was the jealous type, unable to stand any woman who got close to Felix.

Listina's face didn't light up in surprise when she saw them enter. She managed a faint smile, "Felix, Nathan."

Nathan placed his present on the side table, "Hey, Listina. I didn't splurge on the gift. Just got a promotion, but the raise doesn't kick in 'til next month. I'll get you something nicer then."

"Your thoughtfulness is what counts," her gaze shifted to the pink shopping bag in Felix's hand, along with a bouquet of flowers. Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.

That image instantly soured her mood - it wasn’t the same bag she had seen in a photo a friend had sent her.

"Felix, is that for me?"

Felix opened the box to reveal a bottle of limited-edition perfume. He'd given her a bottle before, thinking she loved it, so he didn't hesitate to buy a more expensive one this time.

Listina's smile faltered, her fingers tightening around the bedsheet, her expression turning fierce. Felix, thinking she was in pain, reached to press the call button but she stopped him.

"Felix, a friend sent me a photo of you buying skincare products. I checked online, and that set costs about 1.5 grand. Who did you buy it for?"

It definitely wasn't for her; she hadn't received anything. She had thought it was a birthday present he was preparing for her. Now it seemed she had been fooling herself.

Felix remained silent, while Nathan's eyes nearly popped out of his head.

1.5 grand for skincare? Was it made of gold? And it wasn't for Listina? Could it be for Carol? No way, Felix was that generous to the daughter of an enemy?

In the next second, Listina threw the pink box at him. It didn't hit his face - she still couldn't bring herself to do that.

"Tell me, who did you give the skincare set to? Felix, when I said we should break up, I was just playing around. You didn't take that seriously, did you? I'm your fiancée. You love me so much; could you really be cheating?"

Felix was stumped, searching for a reply for a few seconds.

Nathan jumped in to defend him, "Listina, it's not what you think. Felix is feeling pretty bad about this, too."

"What's there for him to feel bad about? What does he have to feel bad about? I thought he was staying faithful for me! Meanwhile, he's cozying up to Carol, that tramp! No wonder she came to visit me with gifts, was she here to gloat? I can't stand it. Why does it have to be her? What's so special about her? Felix, can you break up with her, please? My surgery was a success; we're supposed to get married."

Felix reached for a tissue to wipe her tears but she dodged his hand.

"If you won't answer me, is it because you can't bear to leave her? She's nothing but a lowlife, preying on you while I was down and out, who knows what they've been up to behind closed doors. How can you be attracted to someone like her!"
