Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 1515

When the waves came crashing in, Maja's instinct was to clutch Ian close to her.

But Ian was quicker, enveloping her in his arms as they both plunged into the churning sea.

Forbidden Island was a remote place, a solitary speck of land with no other islands for miles around, a

place where whirlpools were a common menace.

The moment Maja hit the water, she felt a powerful undertow dragging her down.

Ian was a strong swimmer and he fought hard, pushing toward the shore with her in his grasp.

After ten minutes of struggle, it was clear that Ian's strength was waning.

He'd had a long night, orchestrating everything on Inner Island, leading their escape to this point, and

flawlessly alerting Dylan and Abner.

Now that K's forces were tied up, all they needed to do was make it back safely from these waters, and

their mission on Forbidden Island would be complete.

But just as Maja thought they were making headway, a wave slammed into her, dragging her under.

Ian's grip never wavered.

"Maja!"

For a fleeting moment, Maja considered letting go.

But Ian, mustering every last ounce of strength, pushed her towards the shore.

Just as she reached out for his hand, another ferocious wave surged over, sweeping him away.

"Ian!"

Maja ran a few meters into the depths before someone sprinted behind her, grabbing hold of her.

"It's too dangerous to go any further."

The sea was a black abyss, and she, already drained of strength, nearly toppled backward when

pulled.

Turning, she found herself face to face with Beck.

Beck had come too.

He scooped her up and hurried toward the shore.

"Mr. Sanders, Ian's been taken by the sea."

Having been through so much on Forbidden Island, calling him Beck was beyond her.

Beck spoke into a walkie-talkie, then a larger explosion echoed from the island's interior.

He frowned and instinctively covered Maja's ears with his hands.

Whoever had caused that explosion was anyone's guess.

"Don't worry, Maja, they're looking for Ian. Dylan and Abner are still holding off K's men. K's likely to

retreat soon, especially since the Olson family's stronghold is at sea." Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.

Her heart in her throat, Maja soon saw several boats cutting through the water, presumably searching

for Ian.

Soaked to the skin, she parted her lips to speak, but then warmth enveloped her as Beck draped his

jacket over her shoulders.

"I'm not cold."

"Wear it."

Maja fell silent, eyes fixed on the sea.

Beck was right. K retreated quickly, outnumbered by Dylan and Abner's forces.

He made another call, his voice edged with frost.

"Where's Quentin?"

If not for Quentin's meddling, Maja and Ian might have been left to perish on Forbidden Island.

The voice on the other end was indifferent.

"He's still in the torture chamber."

As soon as the words were spoken, a subordinate approached with a report.

"Sir, Mr. Gellar has volunteered for an alternative punishment."

Quentin's crime was betraying his adoptive father and revealing the secret passages to a stranger.

His list of offenses was long, including infighting within the organization—after all, those on K's side

were all members of the same group.

By aiding Maja and striking at K, Quentin had turned against the organization.

Even if he despised K, they had never come to blows like this before.

The man's eyes were icy as he watched an underling present an object—the Jellyfish Seal.

"Sir, Mr. Gellar said this is his final account to you."
