Darling, Please Love Me Again! (Gisele Meyer)

Chapter 8

Chapter 8

Dorian glowered at Gisele with bloodshot eyes. Perspiration dotted his cool, seemingly indifferent face. He looked like he’d just taken a shower.

to slap him.

It was at this crucial moment that Dorian closed his eyes, deciding that he could no longer tolerate it any further. Furious, he grabbed Bernard’s hand to stop him.

When he opened his eyes again, he seethed angrily. “Gisele!”

The rage he felt cleared his vision. He could even speak properly now.

Bernard, whose hand was being held hostage by Dorian, cried out in pain.

“Hey! It hurts! Let go of my hand, Dorian! I did that for your own good!” Bernard hissed in

pain.

“Are you sure about that? Or were you simply pulling my leg?” Dorian’s eyes were still bloodshot when he let go of Bernard’s hand. He looked horrifying.

He turned to look at the entrance but couldn’t see Gisele there.

How dare she trick him?

“Hey! Is Gigi the person your grandfather wanted you to marry?” Bernard asked with a sad

face.

So, his idol, was married to Dorian?

After calming himself down, Dorian strode out of the conference room. Just before the elevator closed its doors, he dashed inside.

Gisele looked at him in surprise. They held each other’s gaze.

Quickly, she averted her gaze as if he were no more than a stranger to her. She was about to press the button for the first floor when Dorian stepped forward to block her with his body.

Her finger, which was supposed to press the button, was now touching his abdomen. It was hard, and it made her blush.

“Come back with me!” Dorian ordered, his face as dark as an impending storm.

“Also, don’t join the show this time. You’ve made yourself enough of an embarrassment. Don’t drag the entire family down with you!”

Gisele raised her head to look at him. She looked upset as she stared up at him with tearful eyes filled with disappointment.

“Is joining a TV show more embarrassing than cheating on one’s partner?” she asked.

“Gisele!” Dorian hissed. Anger flashed across hils plercing eyes.

She didn’t know if he was mad at her because he felt huunillated or If It was because the soft- spoken Gisele, who had always looked up to him in admiration, was now speaking to him with a sharp tongue.

She smiled bitterly at him. Her throat felt as if she had just swallowed a knife. She put on a brave front and said, “You’re afraid that I would tell the public about our relationship, right?

Dorian fell silent. Judging from how he avoided her gaze, she could tell that her guess wast right.

Gisele felt as though someone had torn her heart out of her chest. Even the simple task of breathing felt like a chore.1

Her face turned paler than it had already been. If she had been the kind of person who liked to brag, she would have announced their marriage the moment they had registered their marriage.

Why would she wait until they were going to get a divorce to tell the world about their relationship?

“Yes. You come from a small family with no status or even a substantial background,” Dorian stated plainly. “So what if you studied medicine for a few years?”

He continued, “The producers invited experts who have contributed a lot to the country. What if you make a mistake and hurt someone? My family would have to help you. clean up the mess again.”

His voice had always been music to her ears, but this time, his words were full of scorn and

derision.

Gisele glanced down at the flats she was wearing as she listened intently to him.

She was probably the only woman in the world who was humiliated to such an extent by the man she loved the most.

Dorian had never tried to understand her. He had never spared her a glance, nor did he care about how she felt.

Instead, he crushed every bit of confidence she had ever had.

The two of them fell silent in the enclosed space of the elevator. Gisele could hear his breath since he was right beside her. Still, she didn’t feel happy at all.

It was quite the opposite. All she felt was pain after hearing what he had said. Otherwise, it wouldn’t hurt so much.

She was in so much sorrow that she had to pat herself on the chest to calm herself down. The pain made it hard to breathe.

“I’m waiting for you to come back, my baby…” All of a sudden, the merry ringtone of Dorian’s phone sliced through the silence of the air.

From the corner of her eyes, Gisele saw him answering the call without even looking at the screen to see who the caller was.

“Sierra,” he said. His tone was soft when he uttered Sierra’s name, as if he were missing her

a lot.

As a rival in love, Gisele was jealous of Sierra, who had managed to get all of Dorian’s gentleness and patience so easily. 1

“Yes. Don’t worry about the show. I’ll sign the contract in your stead,” he said, comforting

Sierra.

Gisele couldn’t hear what Sierra said to Dorian. But his words made her realize that he had said those things about terminating the contract and her embarrassing the Jeffersons, all because he

wanted her to leave.

He wanted to keep this path of fame for Sierra.

Oh, the irony behind that!

Dorian wanted to make Gisele, his wife, give in just so he could satisfy his mistress‘

demands.

“Okay. Just wait for the good news.” Dorian’s voice was gentle throughout their

conversation.

Gisele tried to calm herself down and force the tears back. She raised her head adamantly and moved past Dorian to press the button for the first floor. 1

She shot him a relieved smile after he hung up and said, “Don’t worry, Mr. Jefferson, I won’t terminate the contract on my own accord.”

She continued, “I won’t contact anyone in your family either because I have a boyfriend.”

The atmosphere in the elevator, which had just started to improve, Instantly turned tense.

The smile on Dorian’s face faltered at her words.

He exuded a chilling air as he sneered at her. “Were you so unbearably lonely that you had to cling to someone like you did three years ago?”

Gisele raised her eyes to meet his cool, indifferent expression. She didn’t expect him to be so cold– blooded as to say something like that to her.

How could he humiliate her like this just because she loved him but he didn’t?

Just then, they heard the sound of the elevator doors opening. Gisele looked away from him and calmly stepped out of the elevator.

All the things she had done for him for the past three years were nothing but atrocious and humiliating to him.

Dorian caught a glimpse of the sorrow in her eyes. Somehow, it made him feel annoyed. He strode forth, grabbed her by the arm, and dragged her away with him.

The staff at the reception didn’t even get the chance to talk to Gisele when they saw her leaving as Dorian dragged her away behind him.

After throwing her into the passenger seat, he quickly got into the car, started the engine, and slammed his foot on the gas pedal without caring if she had put on her seat belt.

The car sped into the distance.

“What are you doing?” Gisele frowned when she realized that the route he was taking seemed familiar.

She couldn’t help herself from trembling out of anger. Her l*ps were red as she bit her lower l*p in frustration.

The image of her lying down on the ground in a pool of blood flashed through her mind. She had been totally helpless when she had lost her child at that time.

“Let me out!” she yelled, her voice finally getting a sliver of rage.

Dorian sneered. From the corner of his eye, he could see Gisele tightening her arms around herself, looking weak and pitiful.

The car screeched to a halt. Dorian hurled her against the window, and she slid back into the passenger seat.

“Do you crave it so much that you have to seduce others all the time?” he shouted. “I can

give it to you if that’s what you want!”

After parking the car, he glanced over at Gisele, who looked all poor and weak.

He climbed on top of her and started tearing at her clothes with one hand while his other reached for her legs. 2
