Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 1029

Chapter 1029:

When she opened the fridge, her eyes landed on the soda she and Andrew had bought together. It reminded her of her busy boyfriend, still tied up at the office.

“Why not surprise him at Klein Group?” she muttered, her bright eyes lighting up with excitement at the idea. Without wasting a second, she messaged Andrew’s secretary to confirm if Andrew was in.

Once she received a positive reply, Madisyn got to work. She prepared three main dishes and a soup, carefully tasting each one to ensure they were perfect.

She packed everything neatly into a thermal container, adding a fruit platter for good measure.

When she arrived at Klein Group, the sight of her took the employees working overtime by surprise.

She greeted them warmly before finding Andrew’s secretary.

The secretary quickly stood and greeted nervously, “Hello, Miss Johns.”

Puzzled by Madisyn’s visit, the secretary listened attentively as she inquired, “Is Andrew in his office?”

The secretary nodded quickly. “Yes, he hasn’t left.”

“Great, thank you.”

Carrying the container, Madisyn made her way to Andrew’s office and knocked gently on the door.

When no response came, she frowned slightly, her hand hesitating on the knob before she pushed it open just a crack.

Through the narrow gap, she didn’t see Andrew busy in a meeting with headphones on. Instead, she spotted him leaning back in his chair, his elbow propped on the desk as his long fingers rubbed the bridge of his nose. His eyes were shut, his posture signaling exhaustion.

Madisyn’s fingers twitched instinctively. After two seconds of silent deliberation, she shut the door again and turned back to the secretary.

Noticing the thermal container in her hands earlier, the secretary had already guessed why she had come. But her return puzzled him. Why hadn’t she delivered the meal? Was Andrew not in the office?noveldrama

“Miss Johns, do you need something?” the secretary asked, curious.

Madisyn nodded, her tone even as she replied, “I want to ask you something.”

The secretary gave a quick nod. “Of course, what is it, Miss Johns?”

Madisyn asked, “Has Klein Group been especially busy lately? I’ve noticed everyone seems more swamped than usual. Before, you guys didn’t often have to work weekends.”

The secretary wasn’t surprised by her question.
