Chapter 701
The ward was eerily quiet.
Theodore lay alone on the bed, staring blankly out the window.
The sunlight streamed through the window and cast a faint glow on his pale face. His face was ashen and his eyes were vacant, as if he didn't have a soul. He looked exhausted and drained.
He was as silent as a walking corpse.
Even when the doctor came in for his examination, he said nothing.
Sydney entered the ward. She visited Theodore every day. He remained silent, not saying a word and continuing to stare vacantly out the window. Sydney walked over and sat in the chair beside the bed, placing her bag to the side. She took an apple from a plate and said, "Let me peel an apple for you."
Theodore still remained silent. He didn't even glance at her, as if she didn't exist.
Sydney sighed inwardly, and began peeling the apple with a knife. "I don't know exactly what happened. You haven't told me anything, and I don't even know who brought you to the hospital. But I know something must have happened between you and Rose."
Sydney sighed deeply. "Theo, I'll be honest with you. I spoke with Rose last night.”
At these words, Theodore's brow furrowed tightly. He turned his head and looked at her coldly. "Do you want me to die?"
Sydney was stunned. "Of course not."
"Did you tell her where I am?" Theodore asked.
Sydney nodded. "Yes, I told her."
Theodore gritted his teeth. “Am I not your son? You never listen to what I say! I told you not to say anything, but you did. Do you want to drive me to death?"
Rosalie's name now brought him excruciating pain, like venom that caused him heart-wrenching agony with every mention.
Sydney quickly put down the knife and the apple. "Theo, I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't have told her. But you know...Rose..."
Sydney wanted to tell Theodore that Rosalie was almost five months along in her pregnancy, and that she was scheduled for surgery the next day Hence, she had no choice but to inform Rosalie.
But if she told Theodore now, she feared how he might react to the news that his ex-wife was pregnant and about to undergo surgery. On top of that, he didn't hear it from Rosalie. He might go mad.
This matter had to be conveyed by Rosalie herself.
Seeing Sydney hesitate, Theodore asked, "How...is she?"
Despite everything, he couldn't help but worry about her. Any sign of trouble made him anxious.
Sydney replied, "When she spoke to me last night, she was crying very hard and could barely breathe."
Theodore could imagine her crying, and his heart ached intensely. The pain on his wounds was nothing compared to the pain in his soul.
"Just crocodile tears," Theodore said, closing his eyes and turning his head away. He seemed to have lost all hope in love.Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
Sydney was taken aback that
Rosalie's tears would one day become crocodile tears in
l
Theodore's eyes. He cared so much
for Rosalie before, but now, be seemed so disappointed in her.
What had happened between them that caused such a change in Theodore?
“Why are her tears crocodile tears? It's because she cares about you, so she's searching everywhere for you," Sydney said.
She had seen how Rosalie was hurt by Theodore before.
