Chapter 669
"What's your relationship with Laila?" Rosalie asked.
She couldn't even call Laila her aunt now, filled with resentment toward the latter.
"What relationship could I possibly have with her?"
"Then why is she here?" Rosalie pressed on.
"Oh, it's like this," the man said. "She was with the kidnappers at the time. Later, to save her own life, she betrayed you to them. I found a way to get her out, and sent her to the wedding to tell Theodore that you were kidnapped."Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
"Why did you do that?"
"Are you asking why I had Laila tell Theodore that you were kidnapped?"
Rosalie nodded. "What do you want to get from Theodore? Is it just to play some boring game?"
The man leaned closer and whispered in her ear, "I like playing games, and unknown games are even more exciting for me."
Rosalie felt a chill at his words.
She then turned her head and looked at Laila, asking, "What do you plan to do with her?"
"What do you think?" the man asked. "Maybe I can give her to you. You can do whatever you want with her."
Rosalie shook her head. "There's no need."
Laila had already been beaten half to death. What more could she do? Rosalie wouldn't beat her how this psychopath did.
"You're really kind. Are you sure you don't want to deal with her? If you don't, I will."
Rosalie turned her head away, and said, "Then do whatever you want."
Laila was startled by this, and
exclaimed, "Rose, you can't leave me with him! Please, save me! I'll do. anything you want. I'll be your servant in this life and the next. Please, save me!"
Laila would rather fall into Rosalie's hands than into the psychopath's. She knew Rosalie could save her. Just a single word from Rosalie, and this psychopath would hand her over.
Hearing Laila's pleas, Rosalie seemed a bit annoyed.
Frowning, she said, "You betrayed me to the kidnappers. Now, why should believe that you'll serve me loyally? People like you, even if they become my servants, will surely stab me in the back."
"I won't! I'm sorry! Rose, I'm your aunt. For your parents' sake, please save me! I'm begging you!"
Rosalie's frown deepened.
She decided to ignore Laila's pleas. Her compassion would only give Laila more chances to harm her in the future.
Laila was beyond saving. After all these years, she hadn't changed for the better and had only gotten worse. Rosalie being kidnapped was the best example.
If Rosalie saved Laila this time, she would just do even more evil things in the future. Rosalie wouldn't nurture a tiger to bring harm to herself.
Seeing that Rosalie remained silent, Laila became more agitated. "You can't treat me like this! We're family! If you do this, your parents will die with regrets!"
"Don't you dare mention my parents! You don't deserve to speak of them! Do you really care about them dying with regrets? Did you ever think about them when you harmed me? You abandoned me and squandered their compensation back them, and now you've let the kidnappers harm me. And you dare use my parents' dying regrets to threaten me. You're truly shameless!" Rosalie roared.
