“H…..how.. How is that possible? Are they not in this together?” Hailey stammered.

“Why was she unconscious and bleeding? Did she get into a fight? When was this? I hope Garry didn’t have a hand in this.” Cole said into the phone, taking a glance at Hailey who looked as shocked as

him.

“Garry?” Jessica’s confused voice came through. “What does Garry have to do with this?”

“Yeah, he was the reason why I didn’t end the conversation properly with you earlier on. He came to my home and attacked me for hiding Vanessa and his baby.”

“Holy shit, he’s the baby’s father?” Jessica said in disbelief.

“Nothing is certain and honestly, I don’t think so. Garry only found out yesterday about the pregnancy. Vanessa called, informing him that she was owing me some money and I was going to ruin her if she didn’t return it yesterday. So Garry sent her a million dollars. Garry was at my place to attack me thinking I got the money but still held Vanessa and the baby hostage.”

“Vanessa is such an idiot. Why would she get involved with someone as ruthless as Garry?” Jessica’s voice came through.

“I guess she would do anything for money,” Hailey said.

“When did this happen? Garry might not have a hand in it. I mean, I literally left him at my house

about an hour ago.” Cole said.

“It sucks to know Garry was probably used but yeah, you are right. Vanessa was found this morning

and hopefully Garry wasn’t pretending to be you.”

“I doubt it. He sounded too sincere.”

“So, what is going to happen now? How did she end up unconscious and where the hell is that fucking Connie? I don’t trust her one bit.” Hailey voiced out.

“It’s crazy how you are still so concerned about her when she has done nothing but hurt you so much in the past,” Cole said to Hailey who said nothing in return.

“Secus was able to hack into her phone and track her location. Vanessa was found in an empty apartment. Not only was she bleeding, she had bruises on her body. She was definitely beaten. Secus said he didn’t find any weapon in sight so it was probably a physical attack.”

“What apartment was she abandoned in?” Cole asked.

“I don’t know but Secus has the address. He says it’s an abandoned property. Vanessa is in the hospital as we speak but he had left her already to go in search of Connie. He also informed the cops about everything.”

“This is crazy! I know Connie has always been evil but I had no idea she would be missing amid something like this. I mean, every mother’s first instinct would be to protect their child, regardless of the situation.” Hailey voiced out.

“Or do you think Connie could be in trouble too?” Jess couldn’t help but ask.

“That lady is a manipulator. I don’t trust her one bit. And I hope we get a hold of her very soon.” Cole responded.

“Or maybe we will get more information from Vanessa once she’s conscious,” Hailey said.

“Do you think she would want to stab her mother in the back? They are partners, remember?” Cole said, referring to Hailey.

Hailey shrugged. “At least we would know what happened. And most importantly who the father of the baby is. If it is Garry or someone else. I hope the baby is fine. Even if the mother is evil, the child is really innocent. I know how devastated I was when I thought I lost the twins. No one deserves to go through that scare or pain.”

“Babe, your eyes should be on the goal. It’s okay to feel concerned about the baby but Please don’t feel any form of pity towards Vanessa. She caused you to almost lose the twins. She ordered someone to kill you without thinking twice. I know you’ve got a good heart but Please, I think Vanessa deserves whatever is coming for her. It is just a pity that an innocent child is involved.” Cole said.

“I would advise we hear from Vanessa before reaching out to Garry. I am on my way to the hospital, do you think you all could make it?”

“I don’t think so,” Cole said, taking a glance at Vanessa. “We are the only ones at home. There is no one to watch the kids. Plus, Hailey hasn’t been feeling too well. I need to be here to take care of her.”

“Okay, no problem. Please get well soon, Hailey. I will let you all know what the doctor says when I get there.”

“And you need to do something about your phone, Cole,” Jess added.

“Yeah, I’ll get a new one.”

“Are you still worried?”

“I think I’m just so curious. Dad is in jail, Hailey was found almost dead, and Who knows where the hell Connie is?”

“Connie is not as smart as she thinks she is. We will find her really soon, I am happy to know they’ve found Vanessa. It shows progress and gives me hope that we will be over this phase sooner than we all expect.”

“I feel we should confront her together.”

“Babe,” Cole pulled the love of his life closer to him. “I don’t want you to get too stressed about Vanessa and her issues. She deserves what is coming for her.”

“I’m not. I’m just curious. You know I have always wanted to know why She and her mom hated me so much, I would love to have a one–on–one conversation with her before she’s arrested.”

Cole shook his head. “I don’t want you anywhere near her.”
