Chapter 1190
Joe tried to rush onto the stage, but someone held him back. He roared, "What the hell! Nash, why are you holding me? I need to get up there!" Nash snorted and punched him hard.
"Why are you hitting me? Stop this before it gets worse!" Joe shouted, his frustration mixed with genuine concern for Yvonne's wedding. Even though he never wanted her to marry Nigel, he didn't want the wedding to be ruined like this. Grabbing Joe by the collar, Nash gritted his teeth and hissed, "You're such a great brother, aren't you?"
He punched him again, and even that didn't seem to calm his anger. Nash stomped down hard on Joe's foot. If it weren't for Winona running over to pull Nash away, Joe would have gotten beaten even more.
Nash shook Winona off with a sneer. "Well, Mrs. Turner, are you satisfied now? I can't wait to see how your family handles this mess."
Suddenly, someone screamed, "Yvonne just fainted!"
A blur raced past Nash, causing him to furrow his brows. He quickly left Winona and rushed toward the stage.
It was Nina, who, despite being heavily pregnant, moved swiftly to Yvonne's side, trying to help her up.
"I've got it," Nash said as he arrived just in time to pick Yvonne up.
He turned to Nigel, who looked completely shell-shocked. "Make sure the guests are taken care of. We'll deal with the rest later."
"Nash, please, tell her... tell her I love her. I don't care about what happened before. Please make sure she knows that," Nigel said desperately, noticing that the video had been dated the night before. Despite it all, he was determined to stand by Yvonne. He knew there was nothing between her and Joe. This had to be some kind of setup.
His eyes darkened as he glanced at Winona in the crowd. She would pay for ruining his wedding.
The wedding scene was a complete mess. Nigel knew he had to keep things under control, so he grabbed the microphone and addressed the guests., "will hold the Turner family accountable for what happened here today. As for the wedding, I sincerely apologize to all of you. I'll make sure the wedding gifts are delivered to your homes. But for now, please head back. I'm sorry for the trouble."
Everyone was moved by how calmly Nigel was handling the situation. Many sympathized with him and didn't make things more difficult. A few business partners approached Mr. Gibson Sr. to offer their condolences before leaving.
Later, back at the Gibson family home, Nigel knelt before Mr. Gibson Sr., his head hung low. His parents, along with his uncles, stood nearby, all wearing the same look of helplessness.
After a long silence, Nigel's mother,
Shirley Gibson, finally spoke up softly. "Nigel, there are so many women out there. Why are you so fixated on Yvonne? If nothing had happened, we would have accepted her But after this, how can we ignore what happened?"
As soon as she spoke, Nigel's aunt chimed in, "Exactly, Nigel. This situation is disgraceful. If you bring her into the family, how are we
supposed to face her every day. Just think about your grandfather. He's already old. Do you really want people whispering behind his back?" © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
Nigel looked up at Shirley, tears brimming in his eyes. "Mom, it's not her fault. She's the victim in all this. You have to believe me, she really is. If it wasn't true, why would Winona wait until the wedding to say anything?" "Enough!" Mr. Gibson Sr. snapped, his face red with anger. "Take him back to his room. He's not to leave without my permission."
