CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery

Chapter 1162

But since both of the girls had already taken sips from that cup, neither of them wanted the other to feel shortchanged. Reluctantly, they tossed that cup and bought two new ones. Nina was momentarily lost in thought.

There was a time when she and Yvonne were just like that. They were always worrying about not giving enough to the other, fearing the other would be shortchanged because of them. "What's wrong? Craving some bubble tea?" Nash noticed her sudden drop in mood and bent down to ask.

Nina shook her head, forcing a smile. "I want to visit Yvonne in the hospital."

Without hesitation, Nash had Pharaoh take Orion home, and he accompanied Nina to Yvonne's hospital room.

As they were about to enter, Joe stepped out, and the three of them froze for a moment.

"What are you doing here? Haven't you done enough to hurt Yvonne?" Nina's tone was sharp, giving Joe no courtesy.

Joe glanced briefly at Nash, but instead of arguing, he stepped aside and let them through.

Yvonne looked even thinner, her face even paler than before. Nina's tears fell instantly, her voice catching as she called out her best friend's name.

She had so much to say, but all the words stuck in her throat, and she couldn't get a single one out.

"I'll go talk to the doctor and give you some time alone. I'll be right back, okay?" Nash understood that this was their moment, even though Yvonne was still unconscious. He knew Nina had things she needed to say. He gently closed the door but stayed nearby, worried about leaving Nina alone in her condition.

Inside, Nina lowered her head, her tears falling onto Yvonne's hand. Suddenly, Yvonne's fingers twitched. It was just a small movement, but Nina saw it clearly.

"Yvonne, you're awake, aren't you? You're awake, right? Look at me, Yvonne."

Nina grabbed Yvonne's hand, pressing it to her face. "It's me, Nina. Look at me, please. Open your eyes and look at me."

"Nina."

Yvonne's voice was weak, barely above a whisper. She was awake, but her eyes, once full of light, were now dull, filled with hopelessness.

Nina's heart broke. She leaned in close and whispered into Yvonne's ear, "I'm here, Yvonne. I'm right here."

Her tears trickled down onto the pillow, disappearing into the fabric.

Quickly, she wiped Yvonne's tears, encouraging her, "It's okay. I'm here now. I won't let anyone hurt you again."

"Thank you. I want to leave here," Yvonne said softly, her eyes pleading with Nina for help.Property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Nina nodded without hesitation. "Okay. Wherever you want to go, I'll help you arrange it."

Seeing her friend's reassurance, a faint smile appeared on Yvonne's face, and she whispered another thank you.

Nina shook her head and carefully stood up, letting Yvonne see her belly. "Look, it's a girl. I've already decided. You're going to be her godmother, and she's going to take care of you one day."

"Alright, I'll gladly accept that title," Yvonne said with a smile. "Though haven't prepared a gift yet, I promise I'll pick out something special for my goddaughter in the future.

She reached out to touch Nina's belly, her eyes lighting up as she felt the baby move. "She's moving!"

"She really likes you. I'll tell you something. When Nash tries to bond with her, she doesn't even respond."

"Really? The baby already loves her

godmother? That makes me so

happy, Yvonne said, her eyes brimming with tears. But behind the

joy, there was a lingering sadness.

In her heart, she longed for what Nina had a normal life, marriage, and children. She wanted the chance to live a life free of pain and fear, just like Nina.
