Chapter 1152
Caleb was doing it on purpose.
As soon as he started grumbling, people passing by began glancing in their direction. Back when Nina was not in Nash's life and Miranda was nowhere near him either, rumors about Nash and Caleb's relationship had already spread wildly. And now Caleb was stirring things up again!
Nash was at a loss for words, his expression quickly hardening as his gaze sharpened. "If you really have a death wish, I don't mind helping you out."
Nash despised being the subject of rumors, especially now that he was happily settled with his family. The thought of false stories circulating about him now was intolerable.
Seeing the deadly look in Nash's eyes, Caleb immediately realized he had pushed too far and dared not say anything more. He could only watch helplessly as Nash walked farther and farther away.
When Nash got back to their home at Riverside Estate, even Nina noticed the tension on his face.
Alarmed, she asked, "What's wrong? You didn't find them?"
It had been days, and Nash had sent out plenty of people to look. If they still hadn't found Quincy and Lydia, did that mean something terrible had happened?
Quincy had been by Nash's side for years. She could not imagine how much guilt Nash would carry if something truly happened to him.
"They've been found."
Nash's expression finally relaxed a bit at the sound of her voice.
But Nina knew him well. After spending so much time with Nash, she understood his temperament. He should be happy now that they had been found, but he still looked upset. That could only mean something else had happened.

They were husband and wife, and she had loved him deeply for so many years. Of course, she was worried about him. "If they've been found why are you still like this? What happened? Nash, we're a team. We face everything together."
Nina stepped closer to him, her clear, determined eyes locking onto his.
Nash wrapped his arm around her shoulders. "It's nothing serious. Caleb's behavior just really got under my skin. I don't want any rumors dragging us down." Rumors! Caleb!
Nina was surprised. "What rumors?"
"In the past, Caleb and I were pretty close, so people assumed we had some sort of intimate relationship Nash said calmly, though the mere thought of Caleb's behavior and expression made his anger rise again.
With people constantly coming and going at the hospital, it had to be Caleb, running his mouth without a second thought.C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.
Nina couldn't help but laugh. "Come on, we're married with kids, and another one on the way. What could anyone possibly say now? You know how Caleb is. He's always been one to joke around."
Sure, jokes were one thing. But without Nina or their children in the picture, Nash might not have cared. Now, with a wife, children, and a family to protect, he had responsibilities.
Nash gently stroked Nina's hair. "No, I can't let Caleb carry on like before. I have to be responsible for you and our children."
"Caleb's just joking, nothing more. Don't get upset. He's helped us out a lot, hasn't he?" Nina tried to calm him, not wanting Nash to be bothered by such a small matter.
But before Nash could respond, an unexpected guest arrived at their home.
