Chapter 1121
Nina had not expected Nash to still have so much stamina at his age.
Taking advantage of a brief moment, she quickly pushed him away. "Aren't you worried about missing something important with all those calls you're ignoring? What if it's urgent?"
Nash smirked and leaned in closer, silencing her with a kiss. "If it's important, Quincy can handle it. Right now, nothing is more urgent than us."
Over on Hunter's side of things, after Nash ignored two of his calls, then turned off his phone entirely. Hunter quickly figured out what was going on. Nash must be preoccupied with someone special, and there was no chance he would be picking up. A real shame, Hunter thought.
Quincy, not wanting Hunter to start playing matchmaker, said, "She's new here, and sure, she's capable. But I still need to figure out what she's really here for. Can you just hold off on the matchmaking? Not everyone is like you." "What's wrong with me?" Hunter replied, unfazed.
Caleb chuckled. "Do you really need it spelled out? You're the classic 'playboy'! All the fun, none of the commitment."
Hunter, still unattached, had always kept things light with women. He wasn't one to settle down, but he also wasn't one to leave anyone hanging.
"You're letting work fry your brain! You're not getting any younger. Don't you think it's time to think about your personal life? Quincy, do you really want to end up like the rest of them, turning into a workaholic robot?"
Hunter had never lacked female company, unlike these guys who were either too busy with work or too caught up in the same old routines. For them, it was either business or the occasional gathering.
But Hunter believed that life wasn't just about work. There had to be room for family and love too.
However, Quincy had always prioritized his career. Even if he wanted to date, Lydia wasn't someone he would consider. After all, she was new, and Quincy hadn't fully figured her out yet.
"Alright, if there are no issues with the deal, let's wrap this up. There's a lot waiting for me back at York Corporation," Quincy said.
Originally, Quincy had been open to staying longer, but with Hunter's teasing getting out of hand, he decided it was better to get Lydia out of there.
Hunter shook his head in
disappointment. "You're something else. Here's a woman who's smart, capable, and even works well with you, and you're just not interested?"
"I'm not interested in her," Quincy replied firmly, making it clear where he stood. With that, he led Lydia out of the room.
As they walked back, Lydia turned to Quincy, speaking directly. "There's no need to keep testing me. Sure, my family might not be as powerful as the York family, but I'm definitely not here to be some undercover spy."
She added bluntly, "And even if someone were planning to use a honey trap, it wouldn't be for you. It would be for Mr. York."
Her directness caught Quincy off guard, and his irritation flared. "I may not be Mr. York, but that doesn't mean you can treat me like I'm worthless."
Lydia remained calm, her voice cool as she replied, "I never said you were worthless, and there's no need to read into things. We don't have any bad blood between us."NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
Quincy remained displeased. He believed Lydia's behavior and tone matched exactly what he suspected.
"You say I'm reading too much into things, but if you're so capable, why did you choose to interview at York Corporation instead of going to another company? Do you really think everyone is that gullible?"
Quincy narrowed his eyes, his gaze lingering on Lydia, scrutinizing her closely.
